Call centre culture v/s Indian tradition

Currently practically every newspaper and news channel in the world is carrying a news on Indian born doctors participating in terror attack.

I am Shocked !! That too it is said to be done in name of religion

.

Most of os choose our profession by choice unlike religion where we follow what we are born in. In effect religion is kinda being forced on us. Should we not be attached to our profession which gives us our bread, butter & at times Jam too

. A doctor who is supposed to save lives, cure humans uses bombs to kill innocent humans ? How ethical and faithfull can such a man be who is not following his profession itself to begin with. That to in name of religion. Our professionj gives us soooo much. What does religion give us ? Let us assume, it gives us peace of mind. Dammit, if bombing innocents is 'peace of mind', I would rather not have 'peace of mind'.

Should we not be true, honest & faithfull to our professions ? Can a muslim barber be careless when shaving a jewish man

? Can a hindu dhobi wash a muslims clothes very roughly ?

I am willing to overlook folks who cheat on taxes or use corruption, but forgiving folks doing such gross injustice to their own professions is beyond me. What says you ?

MOTHERHOOD :- Bliss or a Hype ?

Hi folks,

When seperated and with 10 year old son with me, practically everyone asked me "how can his mother leave him with you?". I wonder if the custody was with my wife, would anyone ask her "how can his father leave him with you?" Why is it assumed that parenthood is not important for fathers?

Law says that custody of the child goes to mother and LAW IS AN ASS that can change ONLY for pleasure & benefits of politicians. To think that India has a lady holding record for serving maximum no. of years as a prime minister. There are hazzar stories about her motherhood and some may be true. A Law made 50 years ago when womens careers began & ended in kitchn. How can it be relevant in todays scenario where we have a lady returning after six months stay in the space ? Can you imagin the complications involved if she was a divorcee with a child in custody ? Either she would have to give up on the mission or make hazzar compromises.

Is motherhood a biologically determined role for ladies or is it culturally constructed? A child is not born as a ‘mother’ possessing maternal instincts but rather starts wanting to be a mother. So ideologically ‘motherhood’ is imposed upon ladies by the society that projects motherhood as a primary function for ladies. It glorifies motherhood by placing mother on pedestal and justifies the emphasis on the mothers role in nurturing a child as compared to inputs given by the father.

So is motherhood Bilss or have we created a Hype beyond repairs ???

LIFE IS COOL : Enjoy it

Hi folks,

A collage classmate of mine requested me to council his 19 year old son as he has joined a reputed BPO company at a 5 figure salary and was not attending collage & on the verge of giving up studies. I called up his son on his cell and asked him where would he want to meet me since I wanted to have afriendly chat. He named 'Apporva' near Horniman circle, a bar & restaurant frequented by office goers.

Initial stage was like thuderstruck. Guy ia just 19 years, calls me 'Uncle' and without a second thought fixes a meet in a bar ? Met him and it was embarrasing when he picked up the drink menu and asked me "Uncle, whats yours?". Wanted to play level with him so said "Large rum". Still amazing was when he ordered "Two large rums & coke". So the kid was gona give me company boozing.

Was wondering, at his age, would I have guts to call a fathers batchmate to a bar ? Would I dare to drink with my father friend ? Did I ever pick up the menu when elders were sitting at the table ? To top it up he paid the bill with his credit card. Am not exactly orthodox types but was still kinda shocked. Is this future of Indian generation ?

Why is such a drift happening ???
