I have a lot to thank you…

Thank you for taking me in as your own
When my life was going wrong.
Thank you for taking me into your heart
And giving it some warm place to belong.
Thank you for filling my life with so much love
That comes from you.

Thank you for keeping up with me
With your patience for all these times…
Of our committed life and I love you for that.
Thank you for bearing with me
For all your efforts and sacrifices
And for being the best and loyal friend of mine.
I thank you for being a part of me
And making my life complete…

Where is the Power?

Once, in Heaven there was a discussion among the Gods
to decide where the miraculous secret power,
the power by which man can achieve anything in this world
was to be kept hidden.

One of the Gods suggested that it could
be kept hidden in the depths of the Sea.
Another said it could be buried on top of high mountains.
The third one thought of a cave in the woods as the right place.

At last, the most intelligent among them said,
'Keep it in the depths of man's mind.
He will never suspect that
the power is hidden there because right from his childhood,
his mind is prone to wandering and he will not look within.
Only the intelligent among them will look within
and use the power and become great.'

All Gods agreed. So, do you see that the difference
between two people lies in their minds?
One knows how to tap its power and the other does not.
So, the truth expressed here is that
in the depths of man's mind lies
hidden the miraculous power,
using which one can become great.

Whatever you think, that you will be.
If you think yourselves weak, weak you will be;
if you think yourselves strong, strong you will be
.

Sand and Stone

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING THROUGH THE DESERT.
DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT;
AND ONE FRIEND SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE IN THE FACE.

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS HURT,
BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING, WROTE IN THE SAND:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

THEY KEPT ON WALKING, UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS,
WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A BATH

THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE
AND STARTED DROWNING, BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.

AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM THE NEAR DROWNING,
HE WROTE ON A STONE:

"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE ".

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND ASKED HIM,
"A FTER I HURT YOU,
YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW,
YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?"

THE FRIEND REPLIED
"WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US, WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN IN SAND,
WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY.
BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,
WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE
WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER ERASE IT."

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND
AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

THEY SAY IT TAKES A MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL PERSON,
AN HOUR TO APPRECIATE THEM,
A DAY TO LOVE THEM,
BUT THEN AN ENTIRE LIFE
TO FORGET THEM.

 Daddy

Daddy

Her hair was up in a ponytail
Her favourite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
And she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
If she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school,
Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
A dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,
For everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
Anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called,
A student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
Every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
For a man who wasn't there.

"Where's her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one,"
Another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
She heard a daddy say,
"Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day."

The words did not offend her,
As she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
Who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,
Slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
Came words incredibly unique.

"My Daddy couldn't be here,
Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
And taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
And ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him,
I'm not standing here alone.

"Cause my daddy's always with me,
Even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
He'll forever be in my heart"

With that, her little hand reached up,
And lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
Beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,
Her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
Who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love
Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
Doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.

I love my daddy very much,
He's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
But heaven's just too far.

You see he was a fireman
And died just this past year
When airplanes hit the towers
And taught Americans to fear.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,
It's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes,
And saw him there that day.

And to her mother's amazement,
She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
Who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.

I know you're with me Daddy,"
To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining bright star.
And given the gift of believing,
That heaven is never too far

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,
an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them,
but then an entire life to forget them.

Take the time... to live and love.

LIFE IS FULL OF BEAUTY

Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.

Most of us, swimming against the tides of trouble that the world knows nothing about, need only a bit of praise or encouragement , a kind word or a hug from our loved one -- and we will make the goal.

The ladder to success is not easy, we try and climb step by step, feeling elated, trying to reach the top, hardly a few steps behind and then like the game of snakes and ladders, we are bit with the venom and swwwwooooosssshhhhhhh, down we go, exactly as we go down in the game.

Whose venom is that??? Who is the snake in our life??? Our own people??? Our own friends??? Our own thoughts??? The Sting remains, whosever it is, whatever it is. The sting is hit in a microsecond, the pain, the venom remains, too long to bear.

Our strength is in facing all these snakes in our life. Battle with all these restrictions, keep our focus on the last step of the ladder, the ladder which is never ending, don’t get satisfied if you have reached a goal, look for another ladder to attain more heights.

Go up and up, but remember not to take your Ego along. Look down once in a while, remember the times, when you had faced obstacles and demons with various horrible faces, as these will give you more vigor and help you climb up faster.

Be kind and loving to people on the way Up as they will be the ones you may meet when the next time a snake stings you, they maybe the one who will help you take another bold step again.

So, this Life again is a game, whichever you may like, Play it. You will always reach Home at the End – to Peace, to Love, to Friends, to Family and to Yourself.
