     Sex Education Is Life   Education - III
       - benefits and advantages of sex
     education imparted at an early age

   1.Many children get exposed to sexual acts of so called shame, in wrong company , experimenting with fear /guilt , by concealing the simple facts of life from parents etc. Some even kill themselves , because of rebuke and ugly treatment meted out by irresponsible parents, authorities, neighbours on being caught on wrong foot. Such tragic incidents can be avoided once they acquire correct knowledge early in life and appreciate that sex is neither   sin or shameful as long as it is treated with respect and controlled.

             2.It is an aberration , that sex education will impact negatively on the minds of school children. They are innocent and can be moulded. They dare to ask questions more freely .However ,once they become teens or young adults , their innocence wanes , they become emotionally mature , shy and if they are exposed to sex education at puberty ,it may impact neagatively , due to hormonal reasons.
                 It is a wellknown fact that they learn about sex from wrong sources / channels somehow or the other , when "something or the other goes wrong' !! They are driven to experiment clandestinely and suffer shame and social stigma , instead of learning the facts from caring and understanding teachers,parents ,who think out of the Box .

              3.The awareness about   and prevention , of venereal diseases , will help overcome the stigma attached to the use of condoms and contraceptives and they will be bold enough to protect themselves , if need be, without embarassment. Spread of many a fatal STDs can be prevented , saving innocent lives and families.

               4.Social evils like rapes , sexual criminality , leading to perversions and crimes health hazards ,"sexual addiction" can be contained and curbed. Once a beginning is made and one generation accepts this epoch making reform in eduaction and gets educated they in turn will become more enlightened and open in dealing with their progeny.

             5. The psychological health of children will improve, with their doubts being cleared and inhibitions removed, with a factual understanding of various facets of the subject, preventing excesses, depressions, disillusionment , which many children suffer by running after the forbidden fruit indiscriminately.

             6. The study will also help bring about awareness   on gender sensitisation, with a knowledge of clear biological differences in the personalities of boys and girls and help overcome the superstitions and stigma attached to the natural menustral cycle, conception and child birth etc.

               7. Once the sex education is taught at shools , it will help parents to talk about this with children without any inhibitions and scruples and encourage children to be more frank with parents , to confide in them any traumatic issues, without hiding.

              8. Above all this initiative will also augment the Governments efforts in spreading awreness on family planning , health care etc.as the trained young minds will be future citizens and rulers.
               Afterall, sex is a natural physical and mental need , and the nature's means to procreation and if only time ,methods and consequences are appreciated in a right perspective , being human and capable of discerning discrimination ,we can positively empower oureslves further , for creation of a healthier ,happier and egalitarian global society.
In our scriptures also there is a mention about how intellectual human beings have gradaually begun to concentrate more on their libido of the lowly placed organs , without utilising their wisdom ,spirituality through the upprmost part of the anatomy, the "brain(mind)" !!!
          It is high time that we educate our minds to appreciate the simple life truths like sex,without creating complex implications !!!
          However,the crux lies in how the educators prepare modules for dispensation of sex education , for the unambiguous absorption by tender minds!!!

         -     ON TO BRASS TACKS
                     Inspite of our yoga heritage of "kama Sutra" , blatant and explicit exhibition of sexual postures etc. through stone- pornography, sculptured on the walls and pillars - on strategic locations , which cannot be missed - of many of our holy and sacred temples , we have failed to grasp the significance of these remarkable carvings.

Why were those permitted to be openly displayed to any viewer , without discrimination between adults or infants , from centuries, when strict orthodox culture prevailed and explicit man woman relationships were prohibited , considered sinful, ugly and shameful and when the major tourism revolved around pilgrimages ??? Nothing was censored from viewing and most of the parents used to visit the places, to view , lustily savour and devour the sexual thrills , as sex was usually practised in darkness !!!

The parents visiting these holy shrines feel ashamed and chasten children not to view this marvelous art form , without any explanation , which speaks a lot about our backwardness and hippocracy , inspite of our pathbreaking advancement in science, like our recent alliance with moon !!!

For centuries,we have turned a deaf year to this most crucial issue , which covertly raised the curiosity in the formative minds of our children, becoming more permissive gradually , adopting the culture of Valentine Day , without actual appreciation and singificance of such alien rituals, which are meant to embolden ,especially ,the inexperienced and ill-informed teens , to overcome their inhibitions, gender-phobia and get exposed to proximity , conducive for practical exploration and discovery of issues like atraction of LOVE and/or sex etc. on their own terms.

This too can prove to be a dangerous , overt platform for sex education, unless the children are fore-trained on the theory of this intricate subject. In our country the evils of development have preceeded development , in many spheres !!

we are still averse to introduction of this subject in schools( even in Biological syllabus , this subject , is treated with veiled via media , arousing more curiosity ,by hiding the vital implications !!), living in our holier than thou world of artificial culture and respectabiltiy.

This is the age of propagation and dissemination of knowledge through trainings, awareness programmes for healthy life-styles like YOGA , make over , the possibility of breeding quality designer progeny of future achievers and blatant availability of access to Internet through browsing centres and Cybercafes.

Imparting sex education in a respectable manner,
through neatly structured scientific, subjective modules ,has become inevitable, as, when , the children learn such crucial life-subject ,WITHOUT THE involvement of close ,loving parents, teachers , with whom they can confidently and confidentially, share their innate and intimate fears and doubts,
they are bound to be misled , by only the elements of excitement and ecstasy, leading to fatal attractions , become perverts or "SEX ADDICTS",

which has been recently defined as a disease.
The syllabus should centre around the natural productive cycle ,the biological differences of sexes , removal of superstitions and stigma attached to menstruation in women, sanctity of sexual union , pregnancy , equality of sexes without gender superiority etc.

The ills of unhealthy sex , effects of perversions on overall physical ,emotional , spiritual and overall mental health and sexual offences, must be dealt with delicately without hype or hippocracy. The focus should be on exercising care NOT to make it only highly sensational and sensual subject. Neither should it be made, lewd and vulgarly humorous .

                     We are mostly influenced by the titles used, though they are usually true and appropriate.To make this subject more holy, respectable and acceptable , we can   NAME "sex- education" :
      "REPRODUCTIVE SCIENCE -ITS BIOLOGICAL AND
          SOCIOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS"
to include in School Curricula , just on the lines of titles modified to inflict less hurt ,
                            for blind "being visually impaired" ;
   deaf   "hearing impaired" ;
           and ***old     "age impaired" !!!!

SEX EDUCATION IS LIFE EDUCATION - I

         SEX EDUCATION   IS LIFE   EDUCATION

   A sexologists' conference was held in Delhi. As is the risky custom , a cabinet Minister was invited , at the last moment, to inaugurate and deliver the inaugural speech. The Minister , awed by such a prestigious assignment on a subject very dear to his heart , could not get any speech prepared for the occasion. As the master of ceremonies announced his role , he solemnly stood up , cast a fleeting eagle's glance at the audience and the highly decorated specialists in the subject , on the dias ,   threw a sheepish and mischievous smile , took a deep breath and managed to announce "Sex ( clears the throat.. ugh..) It gives me great pleasure" and abruptly sat down.
                                   This is the kind of awareness we have about sex , in our country. This three letter word is abhorred by, even , many parents, social scientists etc. who are highly educated and much familiar to the paradigm shift in the social value system , cultural flux and the social crimes emanating from the ignorance of safe sex and the biological implications , which are shrouded in mystery even now , while reproduction and process of birth are fuzzily dealt , as a part of the curricula.
Much water has flown under the bridge on   introduction of sex education in schools .Varied responses in favour and against   were aired. But till now no concensus seems to have been arrived at on this crucial issue , irrespective of younger generation becoming pervert , increase in crimes like rape, clandestine adventures, which even lead to   suicides and unabated spread of HIV/AIDS in an epidemic proportion , in our country , which ranks among the worst affected countries and where the population control measures have failed miserably !!!!
          Curiosity killed the cat !!! The subject of sex which is a normal   need of every human being , has been treated as if it's the most dirty subject and a sin to discuss or learn about this , arousing the unsatiable curiosity in the young minds , in their formation years , on this , so far , only an ADULT subject .
                                 Everybody learns about the sex covertly, in a half-baked   manner , innocently and ignorantly , somehow or the other , which leads to many of the socio-psychological catastrophes, in our holier than thou society.
                                  The lack of correct knowledge of sex and   treating it as an untouchable subject , had a negative impact on the deveolpment and progress of our country too , which we would have achieved much faster , but for this social lack of awareness about sex, which is a taboo in our country.
Sexually aware nations ,are the most developed countries and we can very well trace this awareness , as one of the contributors to their success in all other spheres. Many of our young talent , which was driven to explore this forbidden territory , lacked in   pursuit of excellence in other spheres.
                                   However , the recent trends of globalisation and insurgence of more transparency in many fields , has led to a pardigm shift in our social outlook also ,which is conducive for better communication between children , parents and social scientists , which must lead to a social re-engineering , so that the sexual myth is demystified and a normal and true knowledge on this life -subject , is imparted without any inhibitions , by taking it out of the closet.
                                     Hence ,   I suggest   that a pragmatic and contemporary approach should be adopted on the issue of introducing "sex education" in schools . Kids too have a right to know the bare truth , without lies , hype and sensationalisation. The procreation is an act of hloy spiritual communion , between opposite sexes and from this angle , I will delve into the need to introduce sex education in schools   in vivid detail , in the next part.
   " Multiplication is the name of the game and every generation repeats the same"!!! Unfortunately , nobody is taught the true rules of the game in an enlightened manner, at an    appropriate age , so far , in our country.

A DOG'S LIFE - PRAYER OF STRAYS

   Last year there were many   deaths by stray dog attacks and many-fold increase in    cases of rabies by stray dog bites , in Bangalore. Many a child became the prey and a number of parents lost apples of their eyes. The menace of stray dogs became so serious , that the government ordered   culling of stray dogs , which was defended by me , in my letter to Times of India.

             The organisations like Society for Prevention of Cruelty to animals (SPCA) and CUPA etc exploited the opportunity to oppose the move , in the name of   cruelty to animals , to corner publicity and share the limelight . A number of   PILs were filed against the move , without appreciating the actual status of strays which were , sick , hungry , suffering from various ailments , spreading contagious diseases , feeding on the filth and waste thrown around by the irresponsible citizens and their numbers multiplying alarmingly !!!

              Those who opposed the move NEVER did anything to prevent the UNCONTROLLED BREEDING OF STRAYS , take steps to adopt them or   advise the Government in time to act against this menace. The government was , AS USUAL , caught unawares , after the hue and cry from the public ,due to the apathy of the Departments responsible , to contain the menace.

             Meanwhile , I too empathised with the strays and assuming myself to be one , abandoned to the care of nature , suffering all the while , invoked my innate spirituality , being a creature of the GOD and   penned the following prayer addressed to human beings.

    When "euthanasia" or mercy killing is being considered to relieve the human beings from   pains and untold sufferings in situations of certain-death , why can't the same painless- death-treatment   be meted out to us , to relieve us from this hell of a living , on humanitarian considerations , lest we should become tormentors of our own masters?

              There is absolutely no sin in    your culling the undeserving among us , but will be an act of utmost kindness . This will   prevent us from becoming monsters , and the whole universe , from    losing faith in the integrity , obedience and dependability of our whole tribe . Moreover , it will liberate us and    lead to our salvation , so that we may be born , as human beings and    perpetrate the culling hierarchy   !!!!!

              Anyway , if you still want us to survive , please ensure a tolerable life-style , with adequate Boarding , Lodging , Health care and old -age homes etc. in addition to providing us with kind and considerate human pets !!!!.
                          Now   on to PRAYER OF STRAYS    without extending our rigmarole.

                                               All ye men know by these presents
                                               We are hurt and saddened   further ;
                                             By your exploiting   our pathetic plight
                                               For futhering   your name , limelight .

                                             Where were you ,CUPA , SPCA & PILs
                                           When we have multiplied all along ,
                                               Proliferating    and seen all   over
   Falling    sick , fighting and biting .

You humans have ruined the environ ,
Hygiene ; made here not worth living
                                                In your quest for growth and progress
                                                Unplanned expansion , chaos reigning.

                                              How we came to be stray , living a dog's life
                                                Howling ,groaning ,moaning of pain all nights ,
                                              Became violent foes of ye ,   who are -
      Meant to be your ears , eyes   an' faithful pets !!

   We don't want to live being aware of our-
   Sickness, diseases, without our duties ,
   Of what worth is Life , which can't give
   Anything to the Society , where one lives ?

   We can't commit suicide , as we are not
   Rational like you ; but we suffer the living hell ,
   It'll be cruelty par imagination to make us
   Just live further, in suffering death knell !!!

                                               Be realistic and cull us , WHO are NOT WORTHY
   We pray for mercy ; to just help us   to our salvation ,
       Don't be cruel to    yourself    by sparing us
                                              There're   crores of human needing mercy , attention !!!!

FRIENDSHIP IS SOULMATE CONNECTION

I have been pondering about writing an e-blog on friendship during this week. Friendship is a spiritual soul connection and many a time , we can interact with soulmates through mental internet.

With the convenience of Internet activities and advent of innumerable social networking groups like FROPPERS, it has become possible to forge friendship , even with those whom we have never met , seen or ever imagined to befriend.
There are no barriers of age , knowledge levels , looks , status etc .Only a pure synchronisation or alignment of thoughts , common interests , personal philosophy , beliefs and a liking emanating from "soul" , which, I have defined as "SPARK OF UNIVERSAL LOVE" on a spiritual plane.
This concept may not be familiar to all our Froppers. But now we can understand lucidly , how the friendships are forged beyond physical realms , through 'spitituality' , which is the causative process!!!
Now , with regard to friendships among the senior citizens,in the dusk of life ,most move away and many ,on account of their lifestyle responsibilities etc become un-communicative , unless one is lucky enough to cultivate and retain them in sight.

We have to forge new frienships from walking- mates etc. Now , through platforms like Froppers , we can befriend even younger friends , which is a fantastic opportunity to expand our horizons and also to keep ourselves more active , engaged and updated. More than anything , we feel important and being sought !!

I have made some friends, from among froppers.

I have two lady friends , who are young , enlightened , who forge friendships for the sake of friendship , which is laudable.I want to thank and congratulate them on their being versatile and aware of concurrent social issues etc , about which they are candid , progressive and uninhibited in their outlook.

I haven't met them or seen , may be , even their real photographs !!

They are Lakshmi(south 9468) and Sumedha (teen_jade destiny).

Photography is the fetish of Lakshmi. She's fond of humour and loves parents ; is concerned with the present generation , their values and attitude towards their parents. She likes coffee , reads serious Books , likes sea and moon , being connoisseur of photography !!!!

Sumedha also reads a lot of books , flamboyant , daring , creative and has a flair for writing , by gulping mugs of coffee , loves everyone , imaginative and I'm sure , likes both the moon and the sea , as she likes music and is a romantic at heart !!!

This is my hearty tribute my newfound gen-x friends for this friendshp week. With this , I also expect to be awarded some prize ,selfishly , as I am a FRIEND to all the FOUR LAKHS and odd members of FROPPERS!!
Longlive boundless friendship !!!!
