a nice ghazal from pampaCAP fropper friend.. shared with me... i liked and sharing as blog with little changes... hope he does not mind.....

Khushbu ko phool tasvir ko chehra samjhta raha,
Tumhare do ghadi ke sath ko duniya samjhta raha,

Dikha tha bhid me mujhko tamashabeno ki tarah
Ek wo chehra jise main apna samjhta raha,

Ehsaas me zakhm khata rha, muskurata raha
Dusron ke pyar par apna haq samjhta raha,

Haan sach he tere liye main umr bhar rota raha
Lekin mujhe shayd hi koi apna samjhta raha,

Dard ko dard hi ke ehsaas se mara gaya
wo zakham bhi bhar gaya, jise gehra samajta raha,

A fropper friend sweetmusic has shared this msg and its truly inspiring for those who says what we can do with limited resources...

Really where there is a will there is a way

----------- Original Message -----------

Suvendu Roy of Titan Industries shares his inspirational encounter with a rickshaw driver in Mumbai:

Last Sunday, my wife, kid and I had to travel to Andheri from Bandra.
When I waved at a passing auto rickshaw, little did I expect that this ride would be any different.
As we set off, my eyes fell on a few magazines (kept in an aircraft style pouch) behind the driver's back rest. I looked in front and there was a small TV. The driver had put on the Doordarshan channel.
My wife and I looked at each other with disbelief and amusement. In front of me was a small first-aid box with cotton, dettol and some medicines. This was enough for me to realise that I was in a special vehicle. Then I looked round again, and discovered more - there was a radio, fire extinguisher, wall clock, calendar and pictures and symbols of all faiths - from Islam and Christianity to Buddhism, Hinduism and Sikhism. There were also pictures of the heroes of 26/11- Kamte, Salaskar, Karkare and Unnikrishnan. I realised that not only my vehicle, but also my driver was special..

I started chatting with him and the initial sense of ridicule and disbelief gradually diminished. I gathered that he had been driving an auto rickshaw for the past 8-9 years; he had lost his job when his employer's plastic company was shut down. He had two school-going children, and he drove from 8 in the morning till 10 at night. No break unless he was unwell.
"Sahab, ghar mein baith ke TV dekh kar kya faida? Do paisa income karega toh future mein kaam aayega."

We realised that we had come across a man who represents Mumbai - the spirit of work, the spirit of travel and the spirit of excelling in life.

I asked him whether he does anything else as I figured that he did not have too much spare time.. He said that he goes to an old age home for women in Andheri once a week or whenever he has some extra income, where he donates tooth brushes, toothpastes, soap, hair oil and other items of daily use. He pointed out to a painted message below the meter that read: "25 per cent discount on metered fare for the handicapped. Free rides for blind passengers up to Rs50".

My wife and I were struck with awe. The man was a HERO! A hero who deserves all our respect.

Our journey came to an end; 45 minutes of a lesson in humility, selflessness and of a hero-worshipping Mumbai-my temporary home. We disembarked, and all I could do was to pay him a tip that would hardly cover a free ride for a blind man.

I hope, one day, you too have a chance to meet Mr Sandeep Bachhe in his auto rickshaw - MH-02-Z-8508.

Thanks sweetmusic i found it worth sharing with all fropper friends and thus posted it as blog...

A bit long story... but worth reading... after all its Sunday tomorrow bore ho jaoge.....

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour a day to drain the fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

And every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man had said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should he have all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented, the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - and that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night, as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room, he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now, there was only silence--deathly silence.

The following morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendant to take it away--no words, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

Moral of the story:

The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice...it is a positive attitude we consciously choose to express. It is not a gift that gets delivered to our doorstep each morning, nor does it come through the window. And I am certain that our circumstances are just a small part of what makes us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never find lasting joy.

Although this may be American Indian version but some thing similar can happen 50 yrs down the line in India too...

read today and could not resist sharing and hope it does not hurt feelings of any

***************************
A young second generation Indian in the US was asked by his mother to explain the significance of "Diwali" to his younger brother, this is how he went about it...
" So, like this dude had, like, a big cool kingdom and people liked him. But, like, his step-mom, or something, was kind of a bitch, and she forced her husband to, like, send this cool-dude, he was Ram, to some national forest or something... Since he was going, for like, something like more than 10 years or so... he decided to get his wife and his bro along... you know...so that they could all chill out together. But Dude, the forest was reeeeal scary shit... really man...they had monkeys and devils and shit like that. But this dude, Ram, kicked with darts and bows and arrows... so it was fine.
But then some bad gangsta boys, some jerk called Ravan, picks up his babe (Sita) and lures her away to his hood. And boy, was our man, and also his bro, Laxman, pissed... all the gods were with him... So anyways, you don't mess with gods. So, Ram, and his bro get an army of monkeys... Dude, don't ask me how they trained the damn monkeys... just go along with me, ok...
So, Ram, Lax and their monkeys whip this gangsta's A*s in his own hood... Anyways, by this time, their time's up in the forest... and anyways... it gets kinda boring, you know... no TV or malls or shit like that. So,they decided to hitch a ride back home... and when the people realize that our dude, his bro and the wife are back home... they thought, well, you know, at least they deserve something nice... and they didn't have any bars or clubs in those days... so they couldn't take them out for a drink, so they, like, decided to smoke and shit... and since they also had some lamps, they lit the lamps also...so it was pretty cooool... you know with all those fireworks... Really, they even had some local band play along with the fireworks... and you know, what, dude, that was the very first, no kidding.., thatwas the very first music-synchronized fireworks... you know, like the 4th of July stuff, but just, more cooler and stuff, you know. And, so dude, that was how, like, this festival started."
The mother fainted.

We too can after reading this..... have a glass of water

The idea of writing this blog came from a friend request some one send me yesterday.. and when i visited the zone it was a Private Zone....

Yes, Privacy is our right and so we try to spend good moments with or without near ones privately.. and thus may have our private room or in office also may have no disturb instruction may be due to some reasons...

But when we are here at Fropper or may be any other social networking site we are easily able to hide our identity, we are here to make friends of our choice, accept or reject any friend request, block any one and even remove any one whom we find troublesome in any way....

Then what is the use of making your zone a private one..... Only if people interested in you or trying to make friends will approach / visit your zone and if you have shared your details (who cares true/false) may have a chance to have some idea about you.

Kya ye 'Private Zone' aapki mansikta ko zahir nahi karta hai... that you while hiding yourself are trying to reach out the world where no one is or will take away any thing from you. I am sure there are many who are spending their quality time on fropper may be that much of time shared with family may have some positive results for some...

SO if you love fropper and want you to reach out in this virtual world of friendship then come out of the Private Zone syndrome, as it is clean social networking site,  i m sure many will agree with me but still the choise is yours to be in privacy....

Kya le kar aye the, Kya le kar jana hai,
ye duniya to bus rein basera hai,
kal aye ho, aur kal jana hai......

Note:- The message is not to hurt any bodies sentiments regarding the privacy....

read this beautiful ghazal
I took somewhere from the net

I am sure many of us may be aware of the following but never tried  these simple practices to reduce stress and relax after a daily tiredness....

Read on net and found worth sharing with you all...na hing lage na phitkari aur rang bhi chokha... hai na...have a nice day

7 techniques to help u relax..

Today's fast-paced lifestyles force us to push our minds and bodies to the limit, usually at the expense of our physical and mental well-being. When we become stressed, our bodies switch to a mode called the 'fight or flight response', which is characterized by increased heart rate, blood pressure, higher breathing rate, etc. Over time, these reactions increase cholesterol levels, disturb intestinal activities, depress the immune system, and leave us feeling 'stressed out.'

"Relaxation techniques are great tools for dealing with stress and promoting long-term health by slowing down the body and calming the mind," says Ashish Verma, Hyderabad-based relaxation and wellness training consultant. "Used daily, these techniques can lead to a healthier outlook towards stressful situations and a decline in stress-related disorders such as anxiety, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, insomnia, etc."

Here are some techniques you might want to consider:

1. Deep breathing

A simple but effective method of relaxation. "It works well in conjunction with other relaxation techniques such as Progressive Muscular Relaxation, imagery and meditation for reducing stress," says Ravi Tripathi, a yoga teacher based at Kanpur. Here's how to do it:

. Inhale. Close your mouth, loosen your shoulders, and inhale as slowly and deeply as you can.
. Hold. Keep the air in your lungs as you slowly count to 6.
. Exhale. Release the air through your mouth, again slowly counting to 6.
. Repeat. Go over the inhale-hold-exhale cycle 5-10 times.

2. Progressive Muscular Relaxation (PMR)
This is good for relaxing your body, especially when your muscles are tense. It requires slowly tensing and then releasing every muscle group individually, from the toes all the way up to the face. "It is useful for calming nerves before an important presentation or performance, and for quieting down when you are highly stressed," says Ashish Verma.

3. Meditation

"The concept behind meditation is to consciously relax your body and focus your thought processes on one particular thing for a prolonged period. Your mind thus remains occupied and diverted from issues causing you stress," says Tripathi. Follow these steps:

 Sit comfortable and quietly.
 Close your eyes.
Relax your body muscles (you can use a technique like Progressive Muscular Relaxation for this).
 Focus on your breathing.
Breathe in deeply, then exhale. Count your breaths (gives you something to do with your mind, helping avoid distraction).
Repeat this for 10 or 15 minutes.

4. Self-hypnosis

"This is when you hypnotise yourself. Affirmations are often used -- positive statements we repeat to ourselves to counter stress and unpleasant thoughts. An example of an affirmation is 'I feel vibrant and alive. I love how I feel'," says Verma. Sit down at a quiet, comfortable place. Relax your body. Imagine waves of relaxation running down your body from your head downwards, washing away stress. Feel the muscles in your body relaxing as waves of relaxation wash over them.

Next, utilise suggestion to deepen the state of relaxation. You can do this by simply saying to yourself: 'I am tired and sleepy. I can feel my arms and legs getting heavier. I am becoming more and more tired' Once you feel completely relaxed, add the affirmations you have prepared too.

5. Yoga

If you have tried it, you already know that it can help you achieve your goals with more focus and renewed spirit. "Yogic breathing reduces blood pressure and brings intense relaxation. Furthermore, it gives you improved appearance via better posture, muscle and skin-tone, if practiced regularly. Bones and muscles are strengthened and joints become more flexible. It is also amazing to see how much more positive a person's outlook on life becomes within just a few months of practice," says Tripathi.

6. Imagery

You may have noticed how particular environments can be very relaxing, while others can be extremely stressful. This is the idea behind the use of imagery in stress reduction. "You use your imagination to recreate a scene, place or event that you recall as being relaxing, safe, peaceful, beautiful and happy. You can bring all your senses into the image by, for instance, imagining sounds of running water and birds, the smell of cut grass, etc. Use the imagined place as a peaceful retreat from stress and pressure," says Verma.

7. Music or suggestion CDs

Another approach is listening to calming music or relaxation tapes. Soothing music has a lot of power to influence your thoughts and feelings. "It takes no effort from your side to listen to these. Moreover, they can be very welcome at the end of a long day," says Verma. Examples of such audio CD titles are Yoga Nidra - Complete Relaxation by Yogacharya Arunkumar (approximately Rs 150) and Ragas for Relaxation (a collection of Indian classical music by various artists for approximately Rs 295).

With continued practice in the techniques enumerated above, you may experience renewed energy, better concentration, better ability to deal with problems, more efficiency in daily activities, less indigestion, headaches, nausea, and less frequent emotional responses like anger, anxiety, crying, anxiety, apprehension and frustration.

Sounds good, doesn't it? What are you waiting for?

Call them old wives' tales, or Grandma's beliefs, but myths can often be quirky and cute until they start to cause harm. Listed below are some common nutritional myths that need to be de-bunked as they can greatly impact your long-term health.

1. If a label says fat-free, it usually means it has 0 calories.

When a label reads 'fat-free', it just means that a fat substitute has been used, not that it is low in calories! Usually, fat-free foods are high in sugar calories and maybe even in sodium. Beware: Fat free = 0 calories is too good to be true.

2. If I skip a meal or two, I will lose weight.

Quite the opposite, in fact. Skipping meals can make you put on weight because:

It results in a slowing of your metabolism.
Your body begins to believe that you are going into starvation mode, so that it body converts all the food you eat into fat.
When you do eat, you begin to overindulge or binge on junk foods instead.
Light meals at frequent intervals are your best option -- and never, ever skip breakfast.

3. Say NO to nuts, bananas and milk if you want to lose weight.

The issue is with quantity. If you stick to the correct portions, these foods can easily be included as healthy foods for a weight loss diet.

Yes, nuts, bananas and milk are dense in energy but rich in nutrients (vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential fats necessary for growth and development). If losing weight is the concern, stick to these portions -- 6-8 almonds (45 calories), 4 walnut halves (45 calories), 10-16 pistachios (45 calories), 1 extra small (4 oz) banana (60 calories) and 1 glass of low-fat milk (100 calories).

4. The best way to control diabetes is by avoiding all starch and sugar/ carbs.

No. The best way to control diabetes is by keeping blood sugar levels under control.

Most foods have carbs in them, so does that mean a diabetic stops eating everything? The best way to control diabetes is by eating a diet rich in complex carbs such as whole cereals (oats, whole wheat, ragi, bajra, jowar, masoor and rye), whole pulses, legumes, fruit and vegetables in recommended portions and at specific intervals.

5. Avoid oranges and other kinds of citrus fruit when you have a cold, as these are cold foods.

Just because someone you know may be sensitive to citrus fruit when ill, it doesn't mean you are sensitive too. In fact, citrus fruit is high in Vitamin C and is known to help stave off a cold.

There is no such thing as a cold food or a hot food, just as there is no such thing as good food or bad food. One should heed one's own body signals and respond to them accordingly. Our immune system reacts to a particular food when we have a cold, cough, fever, the runs or sneezes only if it is sensitive to them.

6. 100 percent fruit juice is a healthy substitute for fruit.

None of the commercially available fruit juices have 100 percent fruit content. The majority of these prepared fruit juices contain not more than 10 percent fruit.

For example, a serving (4oz) of apple juice has approximately 15g carbs (sugar), and 0.5g fiber, whereas a small (about 100g) fresh, crunchy, juicy apple has 15 g carbs, and 2.4g fibre.

7. Pregnancy means eating for two.

You're putting me on! Eating for two does not mean eating twice the quantity. For your baby to be born healthy, you only need to consume an additional 300 calories at the most, daily (and that too only in the 2nd and 3rd trimester). If you gain unnecessary weight during your pregnancy, you may have a difficult labour and will have to work much harder to drop all those pounds post delivery.

During pregnancy, the need for essential vitamins and minerals is only slightly increased. Make your calories count by choosing nutrient-rich foods and essential fatty acids like DHA (decosahexanoic acid) and arachidonic acid that are vital for the development of your baby's brain and vision.

8. If you drink enough milk throughout your pregnancy, your child will be born with a fair complexion.

Come on! Do you think if you drink chocolate milk your child will be chocolate-coloured, or if you drink strawberry milk your child will be pink? Adequate milk intake (2-3 cups of milk and milk products) will help meet both the mother and child's essential calcium and protein requirements.

Skin colouring is genetically driven, not milk driven!

9. Pure ghee or even full fat milk should be given to children for overall health and growth.

All children below the age of 1 year can take full fat milk and ghee, since fat is required for brain development. However, after they are 2 years old, 2 percent milk is safe if the child is eating healthy otherwise. Ghee can be included sparingly as part of a child's healthy diet if s/he is within the normal weight range. Parents must realise that these foods are rich in saturated fats and can pose the risk of childhood obesity, leading to adult obesity and even future health complications.

10. A plump child is a healthy child, but a skinny yet active child is unhealthy.

A plump child may not necessarily be healthy, and may be at risk of developing chronic illnesses. On the other hand a skinny child that is very active, eats a balanced diet and is not prone to getting ill can be considered ideally healthy.

In this day and age of information technology and the savvy consumer, we must use common sense over myth.
We know what's best for our bodies in terms of nutrition, so go for what your gut says is medically sound and not otherwise.

Dil me basai thi tasvir jo mita dena

Aankhon me basaya tha nazron se gira dena

Tum ko to wafa meri kuch raas na aayi

Jati hoon tere dar se mujhko na sada dena

Jab tum se koi pooche baaten meri wafaon ki

Tum meri zafaon par ilzam laga dena

Fir uski tamanna kya jo gair ka ho jaye

Bas itni guzarish hai tum mujhko bhula dena

Chahenge tumhe par kabhi ruswa na karenge

Saaye se bhi tere kabhi shikwa na karenge

Bhoole se kabhi raah me mil jaaoge agar

Milne ko dubara kabhi wada na karenge

Poochenge hawaon se ghataon se tera haal

Milne ke waste kabhi aaya na karenge

Jis peyar ki tabir kiya karte the pahle

Us naam ko diwar par likha na karenge
