science behind everyday happenings

Dear friends,

I am sharing with u the news of my science fiction in English titled "The Reverse Evolution"  published in
www.kalkion.com .

I thought for a while whether i have to trumpet every time my science fiction is published. Though there are less inclined as  far as science matters are concerned, science fiction has all the makings of a thriller and science fictions are well liked by general audience.

Besides, i am in a social networking site and may be one amongst you may take the interest in science as well.

The gist of the story is that a team of men and women have been sent to a faraway planet for colonisation where they go down the evolutionary ladder to become apes and monkeys.

Read the fiction online for full details/text.

Thanks for reading. Your valuable comments welcome

Dear friends,

I have allways avoided controversial topics for discussion/writing. But beginning today i wish to put forth my views on what one may call slightly/fully controversial issues. Ok. I am ready to thrash out. Are u ready?

I think this prostitution started as early as the beginnings of a man/woman relationship. In the days of yore, going to a prostitute was not looked down upon as a downright sin. It was an allowed customs in those days.

' Hey, man what u r upto?' May be your question. Wait. I have never gone to any prostitute's den. But i wish to point out in sprawling cities like Mumbai, the population living away from families is quite high. Such floaters need to have their outlet! Otherwise they will misbehave with the ladies on the streets! You know very well the mumbai is known for it's red bulb(light!) areas. In a way they are shields for the peaceful living in the city. I hear that in some countries they have legalised the prostitution. After all they are pleasure-merchants!

As for me i sympathise with the pitiable women in the flesh-trade for many of them have been forced to come into this trade to make a living. Certainly there is a grey area in this trade- many hapless women are being deceived and sold for a sum to these harlems.Shocking still , the halems are run by influential women themselves. Some do prospective selling of deceived women into these brothels. This is where i am sad as a resident of a poor nation where the nation has failed to upbring the women from their penury.

Supporting the cause for legalisation of prostitutes is one thing, adding a word of caution is another. Yes, let there not be a runaway boom in prostitution- it will be counter-productive.

I dont subcribe to the views that the moment one looks at a woman with desire one is into prostitution-without naming specifically i would like to say some scriptures say so, This is 21 st century where gay people are celebrating openly in public after winning their legal battle to practice gayism/lesbionism.Persoanlly  iam for natural man woman relationship. No gayism for me!

Well, you find anything revulsive here and wriggling in discomfort? Shout out if u feel so.(Not in your zones here itself!) Beware, the controversial issues have just begun to flow but as i always been will keep a limit in expressions.

Thanks for reading. Your valuable comments welcome.

Dear friends,

I have been strident and vociferous about the favoritism and non-recpirocity in friendship by certain friends.

Let me add some details about me I am a science and science ficiton writer. I take pride in saying that i can write on any topic other than science with equal ease.I am a Regional Editor for an online science ficiton magazine.

I am not against having favorites for oneself. But that should not blind one in appreciating the writings of others here. Recently my science fiction was published from abroad and delivered a speech on "Non conventional energy resources" for All India Radio.

There was a blog contest. I did not participate since i was busy writing science. The main sponsor who propagated this contest did not bother to read my blog annoncing my publication in London. Ironically this person requested for my friendship and knows tamil too. Still he is indifferent in reading others blogs. It is also surprising to note that some people are praising to sky heavens persons like him. It appears to me that the blog contest were announced just to popularise themselves amongst fropperites.KUDOS!

You may tell me to ignore all this and carry on. Yes i intend to carry on. Nevertheless i am now weary of several persons here.  Earlier i used to delete many but as of now i am exercising restraint. You may ask me whether my EGO is writing this! Nope. I wish to bring to your notice such persons make the fropper a worst place to come in. Let me see how do you respond to this. many of u may go away wihtout leaving any comment. I have recorded my dissent. That is enough.

I want to leave my imprint on the arena i have chosen and nothing else matters.

I have matured enough to bear with the indiffernce from the friends or rather so called people in my  frnds list.  My patience perhaps is making them forget their mistakes.

Time is the best teacher. And they will learn. If they fail to learn then a big sorry for them.

Thanks for reading. Your comments welcome.

Dear friends,

I am happy to share with you that one of my science fictions in Tamil has been published in www.popsamiti.com.

The science ficiton is titled "Iyanthira malar" meaning "Machine Flower". This ficiton is part of a project undertaken by popsamiti in Londan.

The project is a platform for artists and writers to explore themes in art and culture with the aim to forge new narratives for the 21st century.

As part of this project a call was given to our group by the project head from London inviting contributions including science ficitons in south Indian languages. As I write in Tamil and English this was personally brought to my notice by one of my science colleagues during a chat.I submitted two contributions. After several months of prepration a POPSAMITI paper has been launched in London in August.During the preparation several interaction with the project head  was done including sending the Tamil font file and proofing the fiction.Due to space constraint one of my science fictions out of two sent has since been published.

My science ficition titled "IYANTHIRA MALAR" meaning Machine flower has been published in the 14 th page of the paper.

The gist of the story is the protagonist Bhrathwajan's sky-taxi mal-functions while in space when a woman rescues him by docking her sky-taxi with his and landing it to safety. The woman Selenna and Bharathwajan fall in love. Selena is from space colony. Bhrathwajan wants to marry Selenna after matching the RH facor. Selena takes leave of him after he proposes to him never to return. He goes in search of Selena to space colony. What he came to know was shocking : Selena was programmed woman destined to destruct at a particular time. She vainly tried to extend her life time but gets destructed and no she is no more. Yes she is an android or a machine woman(that's why the ficiton is titled Machine flower). Even though she was a machine her memories will take a long time to fade from his heart.

The paper is available online in www.popsamiti.com.

My story is on the 14 th page of the paper.

I will be there as Mohan Sanjeevan.

Thanks for reading. Yours vauable comments welcome.

Dear friends,

I believe i am one of the most resourceful thinking heads prowling in fropper(ah! self-adulation!). Though i have (!)been in fropper for than 1 and 1/2 years now, I started shouting late almost a year after i made my gracious(!) presence here. Yeah! I mean posting shout-outs. Now  there are quite a few lined up in my profile page.

Unfortunately( for me only!), not many seem to hear my shout-outs.I am particular about shout-outs. They are a refelction of mind and many times over a reaction with my interaction with my friends both online and live. They are mini blogs in 1 to 3 lines. These precious-sayings(!) get deleted after 60 days. A treasure drove lost forever! So i decided to bunch them together   and put them in a blog.    See i have forced u to listen!

The shout-outs will be nice if humour goes with it. When it comes to humour , I have loads of them(i miss not the opportunity to  self-pat me!)

Ok. Here they are lined up for you.

    1. Laughter is infectious. Infect me!

    2. Science makes sense. I make sense. I am SCIENCE!

    3. Wavelength matching techniques exhausted. U have one?

    4. Life is a learning process. I am still learning

   5. Discovery! People live their lives. I am living mine!

   6. Life is a simple journey between life and death. it gets complex only in between!

   7. I am poor in writing scraps. Rich in reading them. Make me Rich!

   8.  Shout-outs ))) are flash-in<<, some times seek- withins
<<!

   9.  It is easy to fall in love, difficult to sustain it!

   10. Mini-quarrels boost friendship. Over quarrels kill it!

   11. Godess Music lost her beloved son Michael Jackson. Join me in mourning !!!! (they are not exclamatory marks, they are falling tear drops)

   12. I am in Goa! I am in the blog of  my Goa trip! I am there even if I am away back in place! Dont get confused. Go meet me there!

   13. Words of praise more intoxicating than rum, whiskey, brandy et al., put together. I dont drink. Intoxicate me!

   14. Bharath selvan's first law of friendship: I alike all those whi like me.
BS's second law of friendship: Like or not no dislike!

   15.  Multiple locations. multiple friends. What to do? Let me disintegrate  to several locations  to be with them daily.

   16. Age-old supremacy war still on! Who is best man or woman! To me both r best as they complement each other. Yeah! Fifty-Fifty!

You have not the last. It is the current one live on my page. Go see it and complete the feast!

Dear friends,

Welcome back.We are going into the fifth episode. I will be keeping out elaborate accounts of one controversy on the casino. No injury intended to anyone. Someone is obviously not so happy about my elaborate accounts as my drafts disappeared for the second straight time.FROPPER TAKE NOTE.

I got ready for the casino stint with a t-shirt and a casual pant. Satisfied i went to the ladies room.

"I am afraid you cant come like this"-Manisha

"Dress code. You have to wear office pant and shirt"

Amusing. The meet and the casino seemed casual affairs and i  came here accordingly. Still i went to my suite.and changed into a jeans and matching shirt.

"It is ok . i enquired with  the casino"

          manisha okayed.

        "Dont you have leather shoes"

      Suma asked .

"I have but brought only canvas shoes and chappals"

With that it remained the was i was.

The same car which took us to the beach carried us to the river bank and parked. We have to get to the Casino by a boat ride. The driver was to wait till we came back.

There were several refreshments that lay sprawled immediately on the hall upstairs waiting to appease us.

There were side-sofas and several dining tables. After moving to the side sofas i found it uncomfortable and went away to a vacant dining table.

After some time, all the mates joined me at the table showing they all cared for me.

Arjun brought all delicacies himself to everyone. He offered me too. I had felt dizzy and stomach stirring even though i hand picked least spicy stuff and ate. Only after I drank something i felt the uneasiness. I went to bath room emptied myself and returned. So i was not in a mood to eat anything more.

There was live music show at the far corner of the hall. A female and male singer sang melodious English songs.

  Russian dancers danced.

Many from the audience clapped .

  I brought freshly brewed tea.

  Suma asked "Coffee?"

"Tea. Good for health with anti-oxidants"

We were there for several hours leisurely eating and watching the live music and dance show.

Indeed here too was an exchange between me and Suma on my non-smoking. It was only Suma who seemed to be affected by the exchange.Manisha consoled her saying"We all love YOu"

The exchange was a climax. I was the first to leave the hall. I could sense people suddenly getting up and following me downstairs. they took pictures of me and the visitors who were sleeping on the sofas in the reception hall as the time was unearthly  3.00 a.m.

A woman dressed in black came behind me at the entrance at the river bank.

 She said "Anjuna"

Anjuna was the area of the resort. "No car" someone replied.

Never mind read the comments to finish reading this episode

Dear friends,

Some days have elapsed since i put up the thrid episode. You, me all drifted away from it getting into other mundane things around us and it is time for the fourth episode. Come on, I take u there to Goa.

Before i launch myself into it, let me fill u on some omissions in the third episode. A strange thing happened as I typed in the episode and methodically saving it, all of it were gone including the draft. That made me hurry through the loading. The cursor was jumping up and down as if some one has sneaked into the system. Unfazed ,i finished the loading on the second effort.Great! But there were spelling mistakes much to my dislike.

Manisha sang a beautiful song . Me and Suma joined in congratualting her. I shook her hand and Suma gave her
a sweet kiss.

I joked they were all drunkards also calling myself a non-drunkard. Me a drunkdard nevertheless if one wants to put it that way!

These two items got omitted during my hurried second attempt to load the last episode.

  Ok, Now it is done!

That moves us into the current episode.

Third day. The 20 th June 2009.

By this time me and Suma were getting comfortable after the initial hesitation.I wanted to know the meaning of tenjade. She told me she is not disclosing personal details. I said i will find out. Ok, find out and tell me was her reply.

Everything seemed to move smoothly when Suma suddenly asked,

"Why are u constantly looking at me?"

By jove! I was totally unprepared. I went pale.

"It hurts me!" i made a complaint to Manisha also. Manisha cooly asked me to tell her the same.

   "I only joked" - Suma.

  "She got away with it!"

I was already tense after Suma's arrival and the tension sat on me! I consciously started avoiding having a look at Suma even while we were talking.

The ladies were freely hugging each other.

"I am getting envious!" was my comment whenever they did it.

"You men can do within yourselves!" That was Manisha's gentle rebuke!

Sunil was busy with beer  and chat. Khsuhi and Geet were enjoying the meet more than others. Khushi was really in Khushi mood with breath-taking costumes. She appeared lovely in person than her beautiful pictures seen on fropper. Gorgeous!
Geet looked very young and attractive for her age leaving me wondering what she did to maintain her looks.

We were all sorry for Arjun as he was not well with the stomach upset.

After noon, we all except started off to Colva beach in a hired toyota car. Arjun preferred to stay back in the resort to take rest. Sunil left his car in the resort. So he was free sitting with  Suma in the rear. Me as usual in the front. I was observing the movements of vehicles around me and made mental note of their  numbers. Why? the relevance will be revealed when we come back from the beach.

Travelling outside the resort always provided the opportunity to have a look at the country side of Goa's outskirts. Although sad, the villages were turning into resorts, the view was spectacular with lush greenery around.

Sun God was soothingly behind the clouds when we reached the beach. It drizzled and got into a mild shower. The ladies walked away to the beach with their swimming apparels. Suma bought a wrap-around in the shop before the beach entrance.

Sunil was eager to purchase the sleeveless t-shirts as he has seen me wearing one in the morning. We both went and selected a t-shirt for him. Earlier in the morning Geet gave each one of us a gift. Me got a pair of pen!-encased in a leather pouch. That gave us the idea to purchase a gift for the ladies. Sunil bought some pearl-like necklaces. I was totally unprepared for this,  still i bought some small gifts to all the ladies. I also bought a head-cap with GOA inscription

This purchase itself took about an hour. Still more time fled. There was no sign of the ladies who went to the sea. It seemed an eternity since they set foot on the beach.

Sunil and me were pacing the front of the beach. We were searching for the Indian toilet to relieve our nature's call. Indian toilet? what is it? Open ground! We came back to the car. As there was no sight of the ladies still, Sunil suggested to me to wear my cap and go look for them on the beach for he felt I can go and look for the ladies on the beach unrecognised as a new man!

I went and looked for them. To me the ocean always brought  memories of 2004 Tsunami as i was in a tsunami affected area at that time.(I have put in a three part account of what i saw during Tsumani here)

I stopped some distance away from the sea  shore and looked around. They were  not to be spotted.

I came back to the car and the ladies have materialised there!

We drove back to the resort. On the way i noticed the same car which went just in front of us on our way to beach now overtaking us and speeding before us. A particular number was written on the back glass of the car

The following people on my trail. No body need to be alarmed as they are interested in me alone.

"I am doing a james bond work!"

"Ah, do it!" welcomed Suma from the back of the car.

We came back to the resort and spent time till it was night. Time to go into the Casino.

   CASINO ROYAL!.

We set foot on it in the next episode. It is time for pack-up here!

  Till then. Bye. Take care.

P.S.: No need to be agitated about Suma telling me soemthing in the morning. One has to forget and move on. This is what frienship is all about. If we are very strident no friendship will flourish. I wil say how i could have avoided the momentary tensions by formulating my reply nicely. Let me tell u  how.

Thanks for reading. Your valuable comments welcome.

Dear friends,

I am back for my third episode. We were in the river-side restaurant when the report last came in.

I omitted to add a little information. That I sang in the car   briefly- a tamil hit Ghajini song:

"Suttum vizhi sudare. suttum vizhi sudare. Sattai ppayil un padam thottu thottu urasa en Idhayam pattrikkolluthey.Un viziyil vizunthen vinvelyil paranthen. Kan vizhithu soppanam kanden"-meaning:

"Illuninating eyes. illuminating eyes. My heart catches fire as your picture kept in the shirt-pocket touches and rubs. I fell into your and eyes and flew into the space. Dreamt with my eyes open bcas of you"

I was explaining the meaning of the song when we reached the restaurant.     Remember the Ghost being disturbed and afraid joke. We were ghosts ourselves as reminded by Manisha.

So the ghosts ate and talked in restaurant.

Sunil is a resort builder and it was inteesting to know from him that birds from far away places visited the resort area for laying eggs. One bird laid more than hundreds of eggs.

I was telling what is organic farming. The natual fetilisers and pesticides being nutrients and insurance against diseases.

"The hand wash is just one kilometre away" as i found the hand wash in the downstairs while we ate in the upper stairs. Even in the resort the hand-wsh was far wawy from the dining hall at the back of the building. It appeared a Goan custom to keep the wash away. It seemed a good hygienic arrangement too.

After the dinner, we started to leave for the resort.  Manisha asked whether he could drive after his rounds of beer.Sunil said he could manage. Still he was ready to offer me the keys to the car to drive. I did not want to take a rish Goa  being new place to me. I let him be the driver.

We went to the market place. Purchased liquor for the next day and eatables. I pruchased bread as it happens to be my favourite dish.

Sunil proved an expert driver , driving with poise and control even though Manisha was not able to direct properly to the resort. He drove us to the resort smoothly.

At the resort a car was waiting for manisha to get her back to home. She was to check in from tomorrow only.

We all went to our respective rooms to retire for the day- the first day of the meet.

   Next morning.

19 th June 2009.The second day begins.

Sunil and me met in the dining hall. Khushi and Sudhaji not yet ready. The queen cat still to arrive.Sunil probably was not prepared for and extended stay and sort of clothes. Seeing me frequently changing into new dresses, he asked me"Why not we go and purchase T-shirts?" I  assured him "We will go"

Manisha arrived around 12.30 p.m. One more get-together was
arranged in Sudhaji's room.

Sudhaji was talking about self-realisation. Sunil, me, Khushi all joined in the self-realisation over drinks! Me, ofcourse had coke for company. The coke bottle rose to meet the glass cups whenever there was "CHEERS!"

Sudhaji told how she let her daughters to be free to take their own decisions after teaching them what is good for them in moving with male friends. Even if somethins went sour she was there to accept them and support them in their hour of crisis and distress.Sudhaji appeared a more levl-headed, mature and nice person to meet.

All seemed to losing track of time. Not me. I shouted"It is time fo order lunch" Yes it was indeed time as it was nearly 4.00 p.m.

There was news of Suma and Arjun arriving shortly. We all went out to receive them. They were coming past the dining hall.We shook hands with the new entrants of the meet.

Sudhaji gave a warm hug to Suma.

I was relieved to see Suma as she was the one I waited that long to meet having failed to meet her in Delhi after attending the Varanasi Science ficiton writers conference.

Suma. She is a darling gal. Wait! Khushi and Sudhaji call her darling in their commets of her blogs.

Arjun. He is good behind the camera. He was clicking and shooting in camera and video every other second. He was not well with stomach upset due to a misbehaving dosa he had in Chennai enroute.

All the mates had the first combined meet in the dining hall over the late lunch.

Suma seemed keeping some distance away from me as we had lost touch in between. I also wanted to sit away from her but Arjun occupied the next available chair so i had to occupy the immediate next to suma. After sometime, she glanced at me and smiled .The first smile!

Arjun told me Khushi knows tamil. I asked Khushi "Why didnt you tell me?'
  "You didnt ask me!"

I rememembered she was in chennai too when she was a young girl.

The meet continued in the new ladies suite booked for all of them.

  Suma asked me"You know Hindi?"

I said"I took Hindi tutions. Hindi teacher was nice and beautiful. Now I remember her only and not the Hindi!"

Suma and Kshusi appeared to be more close to each other. They were dancing together and Khushi was winking at her. There appeared some secret message passing between them.

Arjun was clicking away. I said " I would change into new dress if u r clicking at this rate. Truly i went and changed the dress and came back for the shooting!

The dinner came to the suite. It was a long time before we retired for the day  Rest in the next. I finish here as i have great trouble in posting the lines due to a unknown problem.

Thanks for reading. Your valuable comments welcome

Dear friends,

I am back after the break!

I was fearful of a backlash if the things went haywire. More  than anything i waited for the go ahead signal particularly from my goa mates.

                      It is green!

So here  i am. Into the second episode and my 100 th blog! Before i move on i am going to fill u on my own backdrop  which i was in. I am a science ficiton writer, a science activist and a researcher also engaged in science popularisation and awareness campaign on global warming, tree planting, organic farming and green vehicles.

The moment i leave my home random people start tracking me. I am moving under the watchful eyes of these people. Dont be afraid! I t is me they are interested in and they stick with me.I am not under any physical threat whatsoever. Just a matter of privacy nuisance. They monitor me all along the route and here some of them  travelled with me from Bengalore seemingly escorting me.They are networked people and they are in every place including my place. At the Goa  bus stand some others were standing looking at me under a tree. A girl and couple of boys.

Alerted by own enquiry about the place I am to reach, they did an high-five amongst themselves to show- yeah man! we have found out where u go.A woman driver gets into a car as I get into the taxi. So they are on my trail. These things dont bother me any more as i am getting used to this. A girl was waiting on a scooty just near the turning from the resort and drove. Both men and women wear certain colour  dresses most of the time and it is the same pattern throughout India as now i have travelled throughout India and found out. They will pick me up if i step outside the resort and move about.Inside i, my friends, and u all free. Come, join the party!

I was in Geet sudhaji's suite at the interval. I am still here only. She was at pains to tell me that she she had no idea to meeting me and so did not meet earlier. The talk centred around my failing to meet Suma(tenjade-destiny)-here after she will be Suma only. Take note! After intitial talk Manisha and Sudhaji got busy amongst themselves talking between themselves! Phone calls were coming in to either manisha or sudhaji. Khushi, Arjun, Suma were informing about their movements towards Goa.I was just a spectator watching all these.

Arjun and Sunil were new to me as they were not in my friends list. Arjun was highly talked about as a nice guy. I was just curious to meet him and not envious he being called a nice guy!

By afternoon, Khushi and Sunil arrived from Pune.We all went out to receive them and shake hands.

When they introduced Sunil I said he is not in my friends list but now he is my friend. Sunil smiled.

We all  had a luncheon meeting- get-to-gether.

We toked and toked. Why tok and not talk? The concerned mate arrives tomorrow.Who else? the great Suma!- the call center/BPO jargon -

A debut drink session followed. I found an amicable ally in Manisha and had a hell of a time joking and pulling legs.

To capture, freeze and savour the moments photographic and video  session  ensued. Manisha warned me-
"Selvan ! Be careful you are going to be seen in company of women."

I said,  "It is ok   manisha. I will say they are my aunties!"
I pulled Manisha's legs too calling her Mamma! To cool her down i added u r sweet eighteen.

" Dont talk about age Selvan", manisha playfully yet sternly warned. The lovely thing about manisha -she reproached yet was very nice in putting the message across.

In the evening, we started off to go to someplace in the Sunil's car. As the ladies sat in the back  i sat in the front. Goa police are strict and Sunil asked me to wear the belt. In our place this belt thing is unknown so i struggled and Sunil tied the belt around me.

I said, "You are imprisoning me!" All laughed.

" We are going to the boat ride on Mandovi river." Manisha informed. All along the route from Arjuna area of the resort Goa seemed a green place indeed with village atmosphere changing into a nice town with old type of buildings of the yester years.

We drove into an area where modern buildings are being built.

At around 7.30 p.m. we stepped on to the boat getting the tickets

The boat was infact an auditorioum with a dais in front.
Songs were sung by one and Goan dancers danced . Later on many from the crowd joined  the dance. Khushi and Geet sudhaji were filming the dance and dancers.

Only on the boat i noticed the presence of the random people. I observed some tracking movements also when we drove to the town.

It was hot on the boat with profuse sweating. Sunil and me climbed the stairs to the open upper deck.A fantastic breeze out there was so cool.

After enjoying the refreshing air for some time we got down the stairs to join Manisha and Geet Sudhaji. It was time to get down.

Time for dinner. We drove to a riverside restaurant. It was a roof-top yet covered restaurant where we could see the simmering lights on the river.

Walking on the street before we got in, I complained "It is  Ghost time. We are disturbing their free movements. They will be afraid!"

"Why they should be afraid. We are also ghosts!" Manisha reminded!

So the ghosts got into the restaurant to lay hands on whatever available. Grub time! Ghosts too eat!

We talked over dinner. Ghosts tok too!

Ah! It is already getting bit lengthy in this episode.

Dear friends,

Before proceding further with the next episode let me place it on record that everything ended up up very nicely making the meet a really a successful one.

Of course, there were some minor hiccups- we all came out smoothly in the end.

I am a person with true concern for my fellow beings. Will i not bear with my friends if they err? Yes even if they dislike me or like me.

                   I am a self-confident guy and not a push-over in life.

I am going to tell u about an amazing thing about the happenings around me whenever i step out of my house from the moment of leaving my place, travelling and back to my place. Then u will understand the drama i am undergoing and how i am negotiating sucessfully.

I believe in myself and believe all good things succeed in the end.

So get ready for the most engrossing and more beautiful reads ahead. I am going to have a dig at myself also in  this-watch out.

Friends of my Goa trip also understand and let me continue. I am going to show how to negotiate the round bends in a friendship journey.

Science and literature understand the world. The world does not understand them fully. I am a combination of science and literature so i feel more at ease in explaining and straightening out things.

See u all in the next episode- i need it as well as would like to read.

Thanks for reading. Comments also welcome.
