237 Reasons to Have Sex!

We all know that after food, clothing and shelter sex is the fourth necessity of man. Apart from physical need sex is also important to beget children to run the family name going. Further it is also a basic instinct in man and other animals.

However the psychologists have identified 237 reasons why men and women have sex.

While love and attraction remain the main cause for many, for others it is about getting closer to God (remember our Rajneesh); gaining a promotion; revenge; or a way to get rid of a tension headache.

Some of those asked said it was a reasonably effective way of overcoming boredom or burning up calories, while a few were attracted by the idea that it kept them warm, helped them fall asleep, or eased the stress of the day.

The result of the biggest of people’s motivation for sex show that men are more likely to spring into action for physical reasons than women, whose motives were more likely to be based on emotions. Women were much more likely to say, “I realized that I was in love.”

The study provides perhaps the most comprehensive exploration to date of the reasons people give for having sexual intercourse. They ranged from the mundane-‘It feels good’- to spiritual-‘I wanted the person to feel closer to God.’ They ranged from altruistic-‘I wanted the person to feel good’ to manipulative-‘I wanted to get a promotion.”

For the study, reported in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, psychologists at the University of Texas quizzed more than 2000 men and women aged 17 to 52.

While being attracted to the other person was the main reason for both men and women, the results show that for some the reasons were not so main stream. “The frequently endorsed sex, reflect what motivates most people most of the time: attraction, pleasure, affection, love, romance, emotional closeness, arousal, the desire to please, adventure, excitement and opportunity,” say the psychologists.

Whatever the study says the sex and sexual behavior in man is always the challenging subjects for psychologists. There are so many aspects to the sexual behavior in man that no study will be conclusive. For example each person has own sexual world, his/her own sexual fantasy. The books of Nancy Friday My Secret Garden and The Forbidden Flowers are the examples. In these books vivid sexual aspects of man and woman are truly depicted. From incest, sodomy, masturbation, homosexuality, lesbianism, fetish, paediphily (sexual urge towards children), to zoophiles (sexual urge towards animals) to natural sexual urge Nancy Friday has collected fantasies from thousands of men and women.

And above all our own Osho Rajneesh has linked the sex with direct to Samadhi (paradise). Whatever it is from famous psychologist Sigmund Freud to Masters and Johnson and from Nancy Friday to recent study sex has become a dilemma. And it will remain the same till the mankind is there on this planet!

Respite From the Scorching Heat!
It is almost mid-June and there is no sign of rains. We Mumbaikars are as usual yearning for the rains to get rid of the scorching heat of May. We are swating and swating. Forget the crowded journey in the local trains. It is nothing less than a hell. But we all Mumbaikars are well aware to it. We only hope that that monsoon should start as early as possible.

And if the monsoon starts there are few agony and ecstacies in front of us. Remeber the flood of 26/7 last year. We shudder at the thought of it. But what to do? We Mumbaikars are well used to these things.

Let the roads get flooded, traffic jams, delayed local trains, monsoon prone diseases, late marks and absentism in offices, we Mumbaikars still love the monsoon and we eagerly awaiting for it to get rid of the scorching heat!

A Lazy Sunday!

After six days of hectic routine I always see the Sunday as a solace, freedom from the routine and a day to retreat.
Since Friday only I start planning of doing things on Sunday, my favorite day. (For that matter it’s everybody’s favorite day.)
First thing I always fantasize that I should get up late in the morning on Sunday, because the six days of a week I have to get up at 5 O’clock in the morning, so that I can catch the train of 7.56 to Church gate. And the traveling in the local train, oh my God! I wish I should be born anywhere in the world in my rebirth (If it is there?) except in Mumbai.
The milling crowd in the train compartments (first class) at these wee hours also brings shudders in my body. And the Sunday means, one day’s freedom for me from this zombie in the local train.
My next program on Sunday is to go to the market at around 11.30 AM to bring chicken and some booze to celebrate the Sunday.
After taking bath leisurely and the breakfast my wife advises me to go to the market. And I readily go.
The next program is that watching my favorite TV show, the Cricket match (if India is winning) while taking sips of whisky and smoking till the lunch is ready.
After the lunch is over I cherish to take my afternoon nap. I hate if anybody disturbs me at this heavenly hour!
In the evening after the nap and tea I go for a stroll along with my friend. We talk and take the stock of things in the last six days. Discuss the current events, while sitting in a bar and drinking whisky and smoking.
And then after the dinner I have to sleep, without thinking about the Monday next morning!
This is my idea of Sunday, but it is still to come in my life!

More Sex Please! We Are Indians!!
It sounds funny, but it is true. See the advertisements every where. From a tractor to underwear a sexy woman must be there to promote the sale of goods. Because the sex sales.
When I say Indians it includes both men and women are equally starved of sex in India. As men are crazy about women, women are equally crazy about men. No doubt that it is but natural, but the taboo created in our society about sex is responsible for this.
Since years we have been taught that the sex is bad, it is something forbidden, it is not a topic of open discussion. It has been always confined in the four walls of a bedroom.
The psychologist world over have telling us that if anything is suppressed prohibited then the man is more prone to attract towards such things. He tries to use all tactics and methods to see, to take the experience of the prohibited things. That is exactly what is happening in India.
Take the example of the recent controversy of sex education given in schools of Maharashtra. With good intention of enlighten the students about AIDS and HIV the progressive Maharashtra govt. took the decision to impart sex education in schools. (I have written a separate article on this) But the so called protectors of Indian culture took objection to it. Surprisingly 80% students and parents want that the sex education be given in the schools. The protectors of Indian culture forget that the Kamsutra and Kokshastra were written in India. They also forget that the world famous sculptures of sexual postures are in temples of Khajuraho and other temples/caves in India.
However, now the scenario is changing quite rapidly. Thanks to the Internet and other media. Now the sex education, adult entertainments are easily available to young generations. Not only men, now women and girls also openly indulging in sex talk which was forbidden in the recent past.
Here I would like to quote one example. In the Scandinavian and other western countries the pornography is legal. There are separate theaters to screen such movies. There are magazines like Playboy, Penthouse and Hustler. (Which are banned in India) Even there are TV Channels devoted to such stuff. And surprisingly the rate of rapes and abuse of women are much lower than India. What does it mean? If you suppress the human instinct, emotion they will bounce back.
Therefore, noted film director and ex-president of Censor Board in India Mr. Vijay Anand had proposed that special movie theaters for pornographic films in India. But the then BJP govt. not allowed such thing in India. The logic behind Mr. Vijay Anand%u2019s proposal was that let the people decide what they want to see and what not.
Anyway the Internet revolution has opened the gateway for the sex starved Indians. There are plenty such websites, blogs, groups, movies, CDs and DVDs of pornographic contents now available to them.
Recently our Honorable Cabinet Minister Mr. Priya Ranjan Das Munshi had decided to ban the FTV on cable TV. The fun of it was on one news channel the news was announced and on the same TV set the FTV channel was running simultaneously. It is still being showed. It is totally ridiculous.
Is our Indian Culture is so weak that after seeing a few bikini clad models it will collapse? Mr. Das Munshi you are trying to hide the rising Sun with your jacket!
Please note that we are Indians and we need more sex!!

The Myth about Viagra!
Since time immemorial the man is in search of a medicine which enhances his sexual powers. Means to keep his penis erect to a maximum duration in intercourse to satisfy the woman and him.
He tried many herbs, shrubs, animal organs, medicines, ointments, but his quest for the magic medicine of erectile enhancement is not stopped.
Considering this weakness of man the pharmaceutical companies are every year manufacturing tons of such drugs, advertising and marketing them.
Even the bogus doctors, vaidus and so called sexologists minting money by prescribing these medicines. You can find thousands of varieties of such medicines in drug markets all over the world.
Is real then that such medicines are useful to men? The answer is yes and no! All these medicines are moderately affecting the man’s quest for erectile dysfunction. Actually it has much psychological and less physical effect.
Considering the sex issue in our society in particular and all over the world in general there is always a myth attached to such medicines.
It is well known fact that in ancient times Raja-Maharajas were taking such medicines to increase their sexual prowess to indulge in sexual activities in the harems.
Nine years back in the year 1998 Pfizer Co. has introduced the Viagra pill in American market. It created upheaval in all over the world. Men considered it is a major breakthrough in medicinal world. In India it is available from 10th January 2001.
However, the pills were too costly to afford to a common man, so many duplicate versions of the pills made available by desi cos. viz. Tenegra, Zaigra, Penegra etc
Let us see the effect of Viagra. Whose prick gets hard on its own but it cannot remain hard till the intercourse for them the Viagra is useful. The function of the Viagra is to retain the hardness of penis for maximum time. However, remember that it has no use where the penis cannot get erect on its own.
In man’s penis there are no bones or muscles, where as it has sponge like empty holes. They are called ‘Corpora Cavernoja’. In these empty holes the blood gets pumped and the penis gets hard. To fill the blood the holes must be flexible. As soon as the blood flow starts the holes get flattened like a tyre tube. To make the Corpora Cavernoja flexible an element called Nitric Oxide oozes out. Due to the effect of the Nitric Oxide the blood veins get flexible and they get blood supply and the penis become hard.
To subsidize the effect of the Nitric Oxide an enzyme called PDE-5 starts working and the penis starts getting lose. If the effect of PDE-5 is suppressed the effect of the Nitric Oxide can prolong and the penis remains hard for more time. The Viagra does the same thing. And therefore if the penis cannot erect on its own it has no effect.
The medical element in Viagra is called Sildesphil Citrate. The pills of Vaigra are prepared in the doses of 25, 50 and 100 milligrams. Before taking the Viagra the man should be thoroughly examined medically. Advising the Viagra treatment just hearing the problem could prove to be fatal.
A man whom it is advised to take Viagra is advised to take it one hour before the intercourse. The effect of the Viagra is around four hours. After that it is not permitted to take another pill. In 24 hours only once you can take the Viagra pill.
Please note that the Viagra has nothing to do with increase the lust, bring the hardness in an impotent man and enhancing sperm in the semen.
It is said that the U.S.A. Govt. made hurry in granting permission to sell the Viagra in the market. Without sufficient knowledge, with prejudice lakhs of experimented it on themselves. Few of them died and many are suffering from its after effects.
Lastly it is said that sex is 90% in mind and 10% in between the thighs. Unless you are mentally prepared not only the Viagra, but any other drug in the world is useless. That is true!

Can we have sex during pregnancy? This is the most frequenty asked question by
pregnant women.

It sounds strange, but it's not as crazy as you
might think. The Sharmas were not using condoms as
a birth control device, they were just trying to maintain
a normal sex life through out their pregnancy.

When Shobha began having contractions every time she and her
husband made love, she expressed her concern to her doctor.
After testing it was determined that the contractions were not
as Shobha had thought, increased orgasms. Instead the
contractions were caused by prostaglandin and other harmones
present in her husband's semen. Dr. said to use condoms, so
we started right away. Shobha said It worked. I had no more
contractions after sex.

Of course for most of us, pregnancy means freedom from contraceptive
devices. For nine months, you can enjoy totally safe sex.
Or can you? Worries about the possibility of pregnancy are
often replaced by concerns over the safety of your unborn child.
Most caregivers, medical professionals and pregnancy manuals give
permission to proceed for most women.Stii, many moms-to-be
have their doubts.

The decision about how to carry on your sex life and to
what degree is a personal one may vary from couple to couple.
Some women find sex is better than ever during pregnancy.
This is due to those harmones, as well as the increased
blood flow to the pelvic area, some women find sex during
pregnancy to be even better than ever.

Pregnancy brings a glow on woman's body, the breasts become
heavier, buttocks become broader and the bulge of the belly.
Many men take pleasure in having intercourse with pregos.
Only thing is that chose a position where there should not
be stress on your belly.

Sex during pregnancy is a private issue between you, your
partner and your caregiver. Even when there are no medical
reasons to abstain, personal feelings should also be respected.
Just remember your body is housing your child, one of the great
loves in your life. So enjoy the Life!

More Sex for Better Health !

You have been closely following your diet chart, you exercise everyday without erring and your quota of drinks is well within the permissible limit. Is there anything more that you can do to improve your health? The answer might please you: Have more sex...

Expressing intimacy in a sexual way is something that’s usually guaranteed to make us feel good mentally and emotionally. But now there’s growing c to suggest that sex actually has benefits for our physical, as well as our psychological, well being.

Sex-ercise
Although not in the same class as your one hour aerobic schedule, sex does give you a workout, depending upon how vigorous it is. The reason is quite simple to find: sex, and particularly the orgasm, involves the contraction of muscles in the arms, legs and abdomen. Also, your heart and breathing rates rise when you are sexually aroused just as they do when you exert yourself on the playing field or at the gym another bonus is that you’re likely to drift off into a deep, luxurious sleep after you tire yourself out.

Keeps the heart happy
Now this is a simple nut to crack but for those of you who still want proof, here it is. British researchers who looked at about 900 middle-aged men found that men who had sex twice or more a week had a lower risk of heart attack over the course of 10 years than men who had sex less often. The cardiovascular boost may be from the sex itself, or may be because men who are in better physical condition have regular sex, so their heart attack risk is already lower.

How a Woman benefits
One study suggests that sexual activity might prevent endometriosis, a common gynecological condition that occurs when the tissue lining the inside of a woman’s uterus grows in other places, such as on the ovaries or fallopian tubes. This growth can cause pelvic pain and sometimes infertility. The study found that women who were sexually active during menstruation were 1.5 times less likely to develop endometriosis than women who didn’t have sex during their periods. The researchers also found that orgasm during menstruation lowered risk.

According to study author Harvey Kliman, a research scientist at Yale University School of Medicine, anything that contributes to menstrual debris going backwards into pelvis might increase risk for endometriosis.

How a Man benefits
While sexual activity has been thought to increase risk of prostate cancer, newer research indicates that frequent ejaculation might help protect the prostate from cancer. This study found that that man in their 20s who ejaculated more then five times a week was one-third less likely to develop aggressive prostate cancer than men who ejaculated four to seven times a month.

Bust that stress
Now all of us know that sex is an exhilarating mood lifter, but there is more to sex than just that. For if you’re in a relationship, sex can bring the relationship into harmony and make you and your partner feel closer, so you feel less stressed and more relaxed. And then there are the health benefits of orgasm. The surge of a hormone called oxytocin that occurs during orgasm may account for the both the stronger emotional connection and the tension relief. Enjoy healthy and happy Sex Life!
