1) When you are late, the train is on time. When you are on time, the train is late

2) Entering the train follows Darwins Prinicple. Only the fittest get in.

3) If your day started with a bad omen, dont worry. Remember that you have to enter the train to go to office

4) While entering the train, push and trash and kick all the people you could not really trash and push and kick in your life

5) If you are an asthamatic patient, carry your oxygen cylinder inside the train.

6) Never polish your shoes, keep it in your briefcase and wear it when you reach your office.

Good one. Still a couple more

Don'ts: Tisk Tisk
If you are not due to get down, never ever stand near the door.

Never board the Virar train if Andheri is your destination at least not in peak hours. If you still decide to do so, never carry a lot of bags with you. You will in all probability lose it.

Remember :
Always be ready to change platforms as you never know when you will hear 'Aath bajkar ektaalis minute pe Churchgate jaani waali jalad local, aaj Plaotform Number 5 ke badle Platform number 3 se jaayegi'. Big Laugh

Yeh Mumbai nagariya kaisi nagariya hmmmm

I have a few memorable experiences...

Once i was trapped inside the train and could not get down at Kanjurmarg. I had to go all the way to Thane.
Later, I was thrown out of train at Dadar when I had to reach CST.

I lived in Powai for abt 3 years and used Mumbai local rarely. But i can imagine the plight of regular commuters without it. Inspite of some shortcomings, I guess its doing a great job!!!

Dont take a bath before going to office, you get a free sweat bath in the train

vice versa if from VT to Kalyan start telling VT wale uto right from Ghatkopar or vikhroli so that you can get a seat in Thane

9) Never take your wife along in a crowded mens compartment.. At night, when you both are on bed, she would say the train was better than you

11) The train is one of mumbai shows of equality, right from a bihari, up wala bhaiya, mallu, tamil, mahashratiann..hindu muslim sikh isai
All are under one roof.

12) There is absolutely no differencfe between a slow train and a fast train.
The slow train stops in all stations

Dear All,

Yes, we all curse the Mumbai locals, but we wouldn't part with them. Without them, the city would just collapse. Like Aaditya has said, they are the best example of national integration, no prejudices and everyone generally cooperates despite the occasional fight.
