Every time love hurts is mentioned, it seems like there are just as many people who think it's a weak song as there are people who enjoy it. Ever since I heard it before LG came out I was instantly favorable towards it.
I think the title of the song and its chorus are undoubtedly cliche, but the vocals in general are excellent and the lyrics are well-assembled and complement the song well. The guitar is catchy and reminds me quite a bit like what they produced from the Make Yourself era. This song smells a lot like Drive, and is every bit as good in my book. And, like when I heard Drive, if I detach myself from my Incubus bias, I would still be magnetically compelled to put the song into my playlist. And that's exactly the response I want from the token sappy less than three song on each Incubus Album.

As common as a cold day in L.A."
