BEAUTY-In the eyes of the beholder

BEAUTY LIES IN THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. There's beauty everywhere.... in the sunset, in a beautiful garden, in a tasteful design, in a sweet smile.....and one may even be fortunate enough to experience beautiful friendship and have a hoard of beautiful memories and  .......the list goes on.

What is beautiful to me may not be beautiful to others.I have tried to remind myself from reacting too fast to other peoples taste.....so when I go shopping with someone and am asked for opinion. I'd say, "If you like it enough take it" even if I am not keen on it. I cannot imagine matching green and pink in my decor or scarlet in my my dressing.........but it has been trendy for some.

I enjoyed this story on a website about a man who was planning to meet his net pal. They decided to wear a rose each so that they would recognize each other. When the train arrived, the young man eagerly looked for the rose,....and he found it on an old woman's jacket. He identified himself to her. Hiding his disappointment, he gallantly gave her his arm and escorted her.As they walked away, the old woman handed him the red rose and told him to give it to the beautiful young lady behind her. She said the young lady had requested that she wore it and that if he walked with her and not away from her, she would be pleased to be  introduced to him! Here was a woman more concerned about meeting a man who is nice to everyone and not only to beautiful women. This was the beautiful quality she was looking for in him

Yesterday I attended an engagement of a friend's daughter. There were so many beautiful young girls .......ohhh they were so gorgeous looking.I was with my group of friends and suddenly I overhead a middle aged man saying,"She has a beautiful face". I was thinking which girl did I miss.I looked in the direction he was facing.......and to my surprise he was referring to an elderly friend of mine.I was momentarily surprised that my good natured friend, with her wrinkles and hardly any make up was considered beautiful.Yes, an old face can appear beautiful too.

I have come across people going through hard times and physically disabled ones, and even someone I know who has heavy workload who provide "beautiful" company. It is the positive attitude they have brightens the day, for them and for others around the

Beauty as in the physical sense, is in the "eyes of the beholder".Elsewhere it may be hard to define as we all are different. And of course you won't escape meeting people who are sweet enough and yet when they open their mouth ......you want to keep your distance. I have given up concluding all calm sweet exteriors does not necessarily provide a calm interior.

What prompt me to write........Of course a beautiful face I came across recently.

----------beauty per se is a non-definable term, yes; it certainly is in the eye of the beholder; (a one liner says, it's in the eye of the 'beerholder'; ha haaaaaaa); i believe that if a person is beautiful/handsome, it's a plus; but if he/she isn't, it certainly is not a minus; and yes, the inner beauty matters---------
