Even if he is not hiring a female companion and only engages her in friendship money is needed for dining together, travelling etc., So it should not be termed paid service. Though normally man pays there some lucky guys whose women pay for them! Either way it is not paid service. It is an appreciation of a companion's presence. February 19, '08 |

MARKIV14 said: Ledzep, I think I could not convey my point of view properly. Prostitutes do have emotions..but surely no positive emotions as far as their work as in prostitution is concerned. Emotion per-se may not, but conscience definetly dies down. Work does involves emotions..passion etc, but I dont know how true it would be as far as prostitution goes. I wont be able to comment more on this. Purely my point of view. May be, people who have experianced or have come in contact with them can explain it much better. Equating such profession with any other, I dont think will be appropriate. Here what the matter of concern for Rohit (and all of us reading) is the psyche and state of mind in which Rohit's friend has sent such a text message and nohing else. Ciao February 18, '08 |

ASYLUM said: If 'serial' dating is the same as booty calls, then the objective is the same as in going to a prostitute- just to have sex without all the emotional bonding/mental baggage and no strings whatsoever attached to the encounter i.e. a date aimed only at sexual gratification. Of course, it is already understood that prostitution is a business, done for money etc.. is indeed different, but the intent of both involved in a 'serial' date is the same as the intent of the customer in prostitution. So I guess both are similar but not the same. (safe! good enough? hehe) LedZep, good point! February 16, '08 |

Ledzep said: its unfortunate your pal is at a stage where she believes someone ELSE can fill the hole in her heart. seems to me, she would really value kindness... beneath the veneer of moral sanction aren't most in marriages also getting 'paid in kind'?? ...so to formulate it like you have, how is being a wife/spouse different from being a prostitute/sex-worke February 16, '08 |

teardrop said: i don't think all dating is with intent of getting engaged or marriage, sometimes it is just for the sex.though prostitution is selling oneself for money, serial dating is compromising one's worth, for something other then money. February 16, '08 |
