 Crazy Eights

So folks…. I’m back with another tag game. This time it is to list out eight things in each of the categories below. Here go my lists of eights… which turned out unexpectedly difficult to articulate…

Eight things I am passionate about

1. My kids

2. This beautiful earth… I am fascinated by water… rivers, waterfalls, the sea. I can sit and watch flowing water for hours… my mind blank… just loving the gurgle and feeling its peace fill my soul

3. My work- done my way. The second part of it is very important for me.

4. Giving people a vision for their life

5. Listening to people and to understand their perception of life... which helps me to learn more
6. To break new paths… to take un-traveled roads... to break through my own limitations… to feel the terror of the new… again and again… and to win at last… The last is a joy… but by no means essential… the journey is thrill enough

7. New innovative thought… Non-traditional, out-of-box solutions…

8. My future… my life ahead… with all its potential for joy…

Eight things I want to do before I die

1. Work with parents to show them the devastation they wreck on their children through sheer ignorance. Sort of parental counseling. I do it now too but want to expand it more

2. To help more and more people reject their faulty programming and to soar…

3. Learn to fly an airplane… though I don’t know how I’ll do it… suffering from vertigo as I do…

4. To go on a cruise for 3 months…

5. To create a world for my kids where they will never have to compromise on their values and live in peace without ever feeling soiled…

6. To establish a school, college and university…

7. To travel the world… to see the sights and savor the cuisine…

8. To become the person I want to become…

Eight things I often say

1. Hi…

2. Bless you…

3. Shit…

4. Really…?

5. Am I making myself clear to you…?

6. Read my lips…

7. Go jump in the river…

8. love ya… (and all its variations…)

Eight books I have read recently read

1. A Thousand Country Roads by Robert James Waller (Sequel to The Bridges of Madison County)

2. Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

3. Doctors by Eric Segal (of Love Story fame)

4. India 2020 by APJ Abdul Kalam

5. NLP- The New Technology of Achievement by Steve Andreas and Charles Faulkner

6. Awaken The Giant Within by Anthony Robbins (round 14)

7. The Romantic Manifesto by Ayn Rand (round 56)

8. Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand (round 321)

Eight things that attract me to my best friends
(This one is tough. Forgive me if I sound like an ass… lol…)

1. I listen with all my senses

2. I am content to have them drift in and out of my life at will… they know they will always find me standing where they left me…

3. I love them and tell them so…

4. I always find time for them and can sit talking to them for hours…

5. I understand the value of things which are valuable for them

6. I don’t mince words when they need a talking to… They know I don’t worry about my popularity with them and am a true friend

7. I am consistent- I say what I mean and mean what I say

8. I break rules all the time… which tells them they can try new things too and stretch themselves… and when- if- things blow up in their face they can re-group with me and we can lick our wounds and laugh together…

Eight songs I like the best
(This one is even tougher… for music is food for the soul… All I can do is to name some…)

1. Tum bin jaaoon kahan… Pyaar ka Mausam

2. Agar tum mil jaao… Zeher

3. Kabhi to khul ke baras… Chitra Singh

4. Tere bina kya jeena… Guru

5. Dekho na ye kya ho gaya… Kabhi Alvida..

6. Teri aankhon ke siva duniya me…

7. Tum jo mil gaye ho to ye lagtaa hai… Hanste Zakhm

8. Haath chhoote bhi to rishtey nahi toota karte… Jagjit Singh

Eight people I should tag

1. MarkIV (Always first… though you haven’t yet written the last one I tagged you for…)

2. Sazzyme

3. Chithrajust

4. SoniKudi

5. ShomeOnly

6. King Bulls Ring

7. Mr StoryTeller

8. Last of Mohicans (and coincidentally last in the list too… amazing…!! Though not the least I know that…)

Dhaval,

Parental counseling is not what I need in the instance you cited Dhaval. I need to counsel 28 year old ADULTS to take their own decisions and not permit other adults to bull-doze them.

Samjhi ki nahi...?

Amrit,

You are paying me a compliment... how can that be harsh. And the unexpressed criticism... the criticism by implication.. is what I dont choose to take cognizance of. For what you see on this blog.. is what I am. The rest of the blogs represent the quirky me. And my friends know that. As you know it now.. hopefully.. lol...

Cj,

Thanks for that uplifting compliment. You love the things in me that you are the epitome of yourself. That is quite a compliment.

Cheers,

Dagny

Soni,

I didnt know all that about eight... Thanks for telling me. I took 8 only because it seems a well-balanced number.. niether too much nor too little...

Lata,

Giving people a vision for thier life is something not really difficult.. if you know how to take thier mind away from the fears that grip them... the fears that plague us all.

All it needs is to sit and listen.. to the said... and the unsaid... and then to ask questions... and listen some more...

Neha,

Welcome to my blog and thanks for that comment.

Prakash,

Welcome to my blog. You dont know the lingo..? Ok.. My blog here is the intitiator blog.. and I have tagged 8 people here. Each of the tagged people have to write a similar blog to this one.. giving their eights. Those blogs will be the tagged blogs.

More later,

Cheers All,

Dagny

Sazzyme sent me an article that had your link to this tag (IS this article a tag? I dont even know whats a tag ..and i am not really sorry that i am not well conversant with the lingo !!!) and I must say that I found your endeavour to touch peoples lives and giving them a vision is truly noble.

I have had my own share of those efforts in very limited ways and it can be a very emotionally demanding experience so Good luick to you.

You do seem to read on somewhat varied notes but can you really read all those books within a few months and actually grasp all that it says...? :) I guess I am not too patient (or maybe not that resolved too) to read so many books so another set of kudos on their way to you.

I did appreciate the choice of songs and music and I didnt know know one of them....:)

have a good life and may you fulfil all that you wish to ....:) in your 8 major goals in your life :P

Best.....

Prakash

In physics, the second magic number.
In particle physics, the eightfold way is used to classify sub-atomic particles.
There are eight known B vitamins that play important roles in cell metabolism.
All spiders, and more generally all arachnids, have eight legs. An octopus has eight tentacles. The number 8 is generally considered to be an auspicious number by numerologists. But dont ya ever want to cross the magic eights? To enchanting nines perhaps?

Ammu,
Cheers...? Yes I say that a lot, dont I? I think everone needs a bit of smile tugging at the corners of their mouths, dont they? I hope my 'cheers' bring it to them...

Oliveintl,
Why the 'somehow'..? You want to open a school too.. ok.. if I open mine first.. i consider you for franchisee... what say...?

Sazz,
Do you give everyone such exhorbitant praise or is it only for me... rules of sistah-hood perhaps..? But it doesnt stop me from lapping it up and Looving every bit of it...

Giving people a vision... yes that is what I do. All the other stuff is an off-shoot of that core function. I hate seeing people selling themselves short..

Vikram,
I'll wait for you to write this one at least.. hurry up wont you...?

Vijay,
No I dont know abt crazy 88.. care to enlighten me?

Shome,
Stop grumbling HONEY. And get cracking, wont you..? This one is simple.. you can do it while you are shaving... c'mon...

Cheers All,

Dagny
