Where there is a will there is a way.

Remember those days of boy scouts and girl guides?
The jambori and the camp fires? The days we had to go out to our neighbors homes and do khari kamayi?
We had a target of 100 rupees for our group, and one week to earn it.
Well me and my friends knocked on all our neighbours doors. The kind hearted ladies gave us one or two rupees for cutting vegetables for them, taking out the little black khaddas or dirt from their rice and wheat, take some wheat to chukki for pissana and bring back the flour.
Some made us iron the uniforms, sew on buttons, fold the clothes, clean the malas or attics, dust the tops of cupboards or under the beds,or help with the homework. We did all kinds of odd jobs but still were short of 10 rupees.
Then Raju had a bright idea.He was an artist.
"khari kamayi can also be a business."he declared.
"like what? "we questioned.
"like we can sell something which we make with our own hands.Like greeting cards".
"But we cant draw like you Raju" we groaned in unison
"Lets sell things we dont need anymore "said Medha
"I am not selling my books "said Rahul the bookworm
"And I am not selling any of my dalls" declared Rani. We all would have happily baught some of her dalls.
"Lets make something of our own and sell it. But what?" we paced up and down wondering how to earn the last 10 rupees.
How about we make dalls dresses?
"we dont know how to sew dalls dresses"said the boys in a chorus..
"And we dont even have cloths to make any dresses," so dalls dresses was out.
Then suddenly pintoo jumped up and screamed "Idea!"
"Lets make jasmine garlands and sell them.I always see little children selling mogra garlands outside the railway station."
Wow that was easy.
We all liked this idea a lot. Soon the little hands were busy picking jasmine flowers and making them into little garlands. We put ten garlands in each little basket and all 10 of us headed to the temple.
We stood in a row outside the temple and began selling one garland for 10 paisa. Soon each of us had collected one rupee and all of us had made the grand total of 10 rupees.
Ours was the only group that had acheived the target of 100 rupees for the khari kamayi !
We had won the trophy that year. And it had taught us the one everlasting lesson in life
Never give up.If you cant make it work one way, try another..There is always hope.
Where there is a will there is a way.
