 Me a woman

How do I define myself? As a child playing with her dolls, in my case chasing my brother , A female  child skipping and hopping her way to school, a college student having the time of her life bunking college, a proffesional at work, mother shopping , daughter, a wife, gal friend????? whew.. I am dazeddd..... is a woman really aall this? if yes, how does she manage all ths?

Who defines what role she plays in life? is it really her or do others influence in what she is today???My mom's helper (maid)

name: Sunita
Marital status: married
Age: 24
Children: 2
EDUCATION: 4TH STD .
occupation: helper

My late nani:
Name : Krishna
m status: married
Children : 6
Education: Bachelor of arts. (post marriage)
Occupation : raising 6 children, serving the inlaws, cooking, cleaning, teaching.. etc etc

Me: Shweta.
M. status: single.. planing to stay the same way
Age: 25
education : BA
Occupation: Proffesional in customer service dept

three women , very different from each other and leading 3 very different lives.. normaly a working professional (me) would look down upon on house wives.. and say hmm what is it for them uthe , khana banaya.. watch a few of those horror shows by ekta kapoor.[. wonder if women are really that bitchy the way she potrays them , if they are then they must have learnt the gr8 art from miss kapoor herself ]...

I am a proud profeesional i work 9 to 7 every day.. reach home at 10 and start demanding stuff from my mother.. food.. tea..blah blah.. well aint i earning...and work the whole day long poor me.. i need to be pampered. hang out with pals on holidays,, need entertainment...break

Sunita.. gets up at 5 , fills water ,cooks bfast, prepares tiffin for her husband , wakes up kids.. drops them at her mothers place.. sets of to work at 7.. works till 2.30 return back home prepares the remaining lunch.. feeds her children.. starts preparing the eveniong meal..the day goes on.. in house hold chores and children.. sleeps at 11.30 to 12 .ask her about womens lib.. she says i dont understand .. i am happy the way i am.. i get my pocket money...hapier than me. 24 * 7

Compartively i lead a much better life than her.. is it because of education .. support of my parents, maybe yes... but the true professional is sunita  in all terms and not me.. I admire her  for the woman she is.. but i love my life FOR THE FREEDOM  that I  HAVE..AND the choices i can make....

I have always considered Woman as the "Versatile Genius" who can perform each of their roles with heart and giving 100% to each category.. A woman Fired by the Boss loves the same way when she goes home.. Where as Men (Except some like me ;))percolate downs the pressure to their family.

Women are like Linux (MultiUser OS) not in any wrong sense..

hey wicked one, of the three, I guess your nani would qualify as 'Super Lady' and you are nothing but just like me. Pretend to work in office and then go home and throw tanturms about how you need to be pampered so much. hardly working preofesionals need to clog their ass off at home. Start NOW !!!

You know what the real spirit of womanhood is? To be sensitive to other women's lives, plights, rights... and you sure have it to have observed about Sunita. Cheers!!

Thanks Shweta! Loved this, truly. That bit about Sunita not understanding women's lib made my heart bleed. I've so much to say but i'm left dumbstruck!

I get really annoyed when women's lib is perceived by many as male-bashing, late nights, wearing the skimpiest clothes, being loud and dominating and pata nahi aur kya kya samajha jat hai. Liberation is about knowing your choices.

The confusion in thought today would be something like..
Instead of "I should want what they/he/she has in life"
It ought to be "I'll take what I know I need in life"
With emphasis on the 'know'.
Self recognition/knowledge = True liberation.
Happy Women's day to you, your Mum and to Sunita!
