Women's Day is still in the air!
Well, maybe because the Fropper Bravery Awards is going to last till March 22 and everyday I have been reading about some act of bravura, that I am getting even more excited about reading incidents in the newspapers.
I can't find the story online but today I read an article of a girl who bashed her groom up for jilting her at the mandap!
Right when it was time for pheras, the groom dropped a bomb on the girl's family saying the bride wasn't the girl he got engaged to and they were cheating him. The father showed the engagement ring on the girl's finger and also all the photos of the ceremony. But the groom would have none of it. A full filmi scene happened with the girl's father keeping his pagdi at the groom's father's feet and pleading to not call the marriage off but the groom wouldn't budge.
Then the girl, who is only 21 years old, decided she had seen her father get insulted enough and first hit the guy with her new bridal sandal and then thrashed him out till he started bleeding! The real story was that the boy's family had already taken a dowry of Rs 1.5 lakhs and were demanding another Rs 1 lakh!
The boy had to be taken to a hospital bride and she and her father then lodged a police complaint against them. The cops had the boy's family apologise to them! This is damn neat! Way to go!
