 of me and my eights...

It took exactly eight days for me to come up with this blog...
Pheeeeew... Now I take some breathe...
If you want to see the earlier eight which inspired me to blog me and my eightsKLIK here...

Eight things I am passionate about...

1. I, me and myself.. Yes. For me, everything else, everybody else takes second priority. I am absolutely passionate about everything I am and everything I do.

2. Next my wife. My 20 years partner, my child and mom, my friend and critic.

3. Of course my Job, my career. I am sure I will die working…

4. My car. Whichever I am driving. Be it my own or company assigned. I always had and have a strong bond with my car.

5. Birds. Watching them everyday, hearing them everyday, gives me new fresh breathe every morning. Learnt a lot from them. Loved the way they start everyday. They live true to the ‘power of now’. They only live in the present.

6. Music. Soft, touching music with meaningful lyrics that came from the heart. Old songs. Relaxes me and rejuvenates me.

7. Food. Many used to say it is nice watching me eating. I enjoy every bit of the food from the beginning to the end.

8. Writing. – This one is recently found passion. Initially as a non-starter, but now going great guns. Surprisingly some decent responses encouraging me to write more and more…!!!

Eight things I want to do before I die…

Easy for me to say these…

1. Have dinner with my all time favorite Sachin Tendulkar. I have been following him since his début and am a fan of his personality. May be because, he is a Taurean too.

2. To drive the Mitsubishi Lancer in Himalayan Rally. I know it is impossible now, but I have always wanted to drive a rally car. My favorite TV show is WRC. I virtually drive each car that runs in every rally.

3. To own a BMW M3, or its equivalent model when I could… My dream Machine…!!!

4. To retire and live in a nice green woody farm house with cattle and birds around…

5. To bring Saddam Hussain and make him the US president. He would then have nobody to fear and would have the freedom to transform the world the way he wanted.

6. To Give five hundred and fifty five lashes to Ekhta Kapoor and her likes in public in the center of Mumbai and have it telecast live all over the world, dubbed in all Indian Languages, so that nobody would ever dare to commercialize the saas bahu relationship, the woman-to-woman- Saajish, Badla and Barbaad of parivaars. For the next few centuries.

7. To teach at least one hundred women ROAD-SENSE, while walking and driving. (Yesterday, A friend of mine, just stepped out of the car, with her cell phone stuck to her ear, right in front of me, slowly walked right across the road blissfully unaware of 2 two-wheelers and an auto missing her by a hair. Gosh… Unbelievable… I told her just one thing. Please watch before you get out of the car and before you cross the road, because people don’t have eyes to see you. They are stupid and blind. You please take care. And it was just a start).

8. To cook one full meal at my home’s kitchen. Now, folks.. folks… hold on. I can hear you all say ‘what’s the big deal’. You would sure change your opinion if you come and see my wife’s kitchen (Yes. It is hers and hers only…). Even a brain surgeon would hesitate a nano-second to use the granite table for his complicated surgery. And everything has a place and a place for everything. Spic and span. And of course, if you don’t want to be in peace for next few months, you might dare to enter her kitchen boundaries. So, for me, to cook a full meal in that kitchen is gonna remain as just a dream, even the above seven are somehow fulfilled…!!!

Eight things I often say..
1. Good…
2. Non-sense…
3. Forget it…
4. I don’t know…
5. Bbbb…astards…
6. Goddamn it.
7. Stupid…
8. I am God.

Eight books I have read recently read
This is not a fancy list, as I don’t have time to read books of late.. my ‘recently’ spans last five or six years…!!!
1. Power of Now – Eckhart Tolle
2. Amblers warning – Robert Ludlum
3. Digital Fortress – Dan Brown
4. Deception Point – Dan Brown
5. Da Vinci Code – Dan Brown
6. Sun signs – Linda Goodman
7. Fist of God – Fredrick Forsyth
8. Don’t remember any farther.. (this is not a book’s name, it just that I don’t remember that far into my past about books…)

Eight things that attract me to my best friends
hahaha.. This is self-boasting section… And I am not good at that at all… Still I will try…

1. Speak the mind.
2. Sense of humor.
3. Kindness.
4. Self esteem.
5. Take it or Leave it attitude.
6. Don’t think I have eight to list, and may be that’s why I have very few friends.

Eight songs I like the best
There are more than eight hundreds of them. Here are my eight…

1. Just walking in the rain,
2. I hear the sound of distant drums
3. I just cant stop loving you
4. Tere Bina Bhee Kya Jeena
5. Chalte Chalte.. Meree Yeh Geet Yaad Rakhnaa
6. Amaidiyaana Nadhiynile Odum Odam…
7. Unnai Arindhaal, Nee Unnai Arnidhaal,
8. Ponnai Virumbum Bhoomiyile..

Eight people I got inspired by…

This is a new category I wanted to add as it goes with the flow of this theme…

1. My Father- first and foremost - totally self-made man. Taught me the value of self-respect. Never let me down on my way towards my career goals. Never exposed his problems in doing so, which I came to know much later. Was a terror in my village, as he is tough as steel, never poked in anybody’s business nor would tolerate anyone in his way. Its going to be 2 years this June, I still don’t get the feeling that he is not around.

2. Indira Gandhi – I saw her in person in 1977 in Nagerkoil. I still remember her metallic flute voice echoing in my ears, confidence was her middle name and vision was her dream. Steel Woman. Truly inspirational.

3. Kalaignar Karunanidhi – Once young Tamil fanatic, grew into a cinema personality, writer, poet and eventually to lead a state, five times Chief Minister, Great administrator with long term outlooks. Come and see Chennai and you will know. Well corruption was a blemish, rather imposed on him by default of being in politics, as a person, he is a Jewel around the neck of Tamil Thai (Mataa). Tamil is still alive and some credit must go to him.

4. Sachin Tendulkar – takes the world by storm at 17, still Mr. Cool. He is never perturbed by failures/ criticisms nor overwhelmed by success. That composure, I think I too have like him, makes him as my inspiration during my lows.

5. S.N Narayanan, My Ex-boss in SPIC – My guru and guide, since I joined straight from college as a trainee under him, I spent 8 years under his able guidance. During training periods, he used to allow me to explore the huge critical machinery myself and bring my own findings of what-why and how of each component and that way I got trained like a fighter pilot, at the age of 24, I was able to trouble shoot any huge machinery in refineries or petrochemical plants.

6. Bryan Shoemaker, my GM in Saudi Arabia – My best friend ever abroad. 2 years older than me, dynamic and sincere, this man inspired me to explore new heights at work, where I wouldn’t have ventured. He took my experience to next levels.

7. Fropper team – This team is unique in inspiring me to write, make friends, say what I wanted to say, taking my criticisms in the constructive way, always behind me to think more and write more. Special inspiration from Navin and Shweta, not to forget others, Rohit among them need special mention. Though I was just another member, I appreciated the way they made me part of them and inspired me to express.

8. Dagny Sharma – Started casual, turned into kind of irritation, later transformed into intellectual interaction. At the outset, I was such a dumb, I took things a bit serious and in wrong perspective about her blogs. In fact, I removed her from my friends list within few weeks of adding her in. Later, I woke up to a new perspective and it was fun and brains all the way. I was no more dumb and learned to see things in right perspective, (without contact lenses of course)., She is my latest inspirational model on blogging. Her tags have sure brought the best of me.

Thats all about my eights...

I am not going to tag anybody, so I allow those already tagged to fulfill theirs…

And Dagny,
I am not contradicting myself... If you truly believe in 'YOU', you dont need boasting yourself... Others will do it for you... That's my philosophy...
We have a saying in Tamil, "A Full Pot don't flutter..."
Only Half pots do fluttering...!!!

Thanks Rohit..
CJ - There is a major diff bet men and women driving.
Men drive wreckless because of over confidence while women do because of ignorance...
Men think they are racing on the road, while women think there are nothing on the road...!!!
(may be I should write another blog on this subject....!!!
Of course it is Gender Bias... and its a fact..!!!

Raj,

I, me, myself...? ROFL... trust you..!

But then you contradicted yourself later on..though not exactly.. but in a way. Had you truly been passionate about yourself, you would have siezed the opportunity to boast about yourself- in the friends section- untill I would have felt like rushing out and buying another Rampuri...Lol...

I am flattered you find me inspiring... Thanks for the tribute. It means a lot to me.

Cheers,

Dagny

KB,

surprise, surprise!!! your 'car' has been listed as the fourth!

and you are pushing your luck too far dude; road-sense to women? yesterday, there was this nerd (a man) who almost got himself killed under the wheels of the bus i was on, as he tried to zoom across ring road, oblivious to the fact that it was a busy bangalore road! had you mentioned 'one hundred indians', it would have been more appropriate! THIS is just 'gender bias'!!! beware!
