Barbaric teachers..!!! What do we do...???

A 15 year old girl thrashed by a teacher for not attending her private tution classes..!!! and looses her precious life a month later...

KLIK here to see TOI News article..

Teaching as a profession is noble only next to fatherhood and motherhood as per our own famous Indian culture. Already teaching has been so commercialized, people take up this job only to make money somehow.

But, hitting, beating, thrashing up young students...?

Who gave the so called teachers the right to man-handle students for whatever may be the reason.??

An innocent life is lost and nobody seem to bother about it...

News tells me, the teacher bribed the Police...!

Delhi administration 'de-recognized' the school'...

And.???

Is that all we can do?

When those filthy rich princes and nawabs loose a match, which has no social - cultural - economic backlash for Indians, other than makes them only little less richer, we all stupid Indians leave our work, studies and jobs, take to the streets, burn 'effigies' shout slogans and few weeks later, same riches play some game again, we all sit in front of the idiot box and hail those Princes,

? Why can't the nation get up and call for a complete reform on school adminstration?

? Why a student cannot make a free and fair complaint to the police if he/she is harassed (and not get penalized by the teachers in exams for having done so)

? Why parents cannot visit and witness the way teachers are behaving in schools?

? Why the private tutions cannot be ablolished?

? Why the culprit cannot be booked immediately after the crime?

? Finally, WHY AT ALL THERE ARE STICKS IN SCHOOLS?

GOddamn it... even in Prisons they don't beat the criminals this hard...

And if a prisoner dies due to beating, there are strict laws to book the culprits and WHY NOT FOR THOSE INNOCENT KIDS???

Do we have time to find some answers or don't we..???

IN_MY_BOX has brought out a valid point here. The childhood what we lived, enjoyed and grew up is just not there to the present day children.
Blame it on progress / modernization / cultural transition or whatever, it is clear that the change is not towards good.
I am really saddened to see the present day kids' plights to 'over-achieve', 'super-perform' at studies, combined with the girl-friend/ Boy-friend culture which makes most of them as a psychic, hardly I could see a normal innocent smiling kid around.

Im sorry to say parents give the right to the teachers,, Iv heard so many cases of boys and girls being mistreted by so called teacers, not only by way of hiting them, but also sexualy,, But a blind eyes is turned, why becorse parents dont belive there kids and at the same time, are never around to sit and talk to there kids, To much presure is placed on kids to do well, and there seems to be a big game of how many times a teacher comes to teach, the teachers themselfs, are so much in demand that parents are scared to losse them, Our culture teaces us to respect elders, And to this point to our detriment we close our eyes to what is going on in school, No matter how much legislation comes in, only we can change things, parents are to blame for not trusting there kids, and sociaty is to blame for demanding that all our kids end up as pilots/doctors ect, A childhood of love is lost

You're right KB sir when u say that teaching profession has becum very commercial n these teachers nowadays just can't care less about students- but yes they love blaming us, and along with that labeling the whole generation arrogant, disrespectful and god knws wht!!! Perhaps they don't realize that respect needs to be earned...Anyway, this instance in particular shows the level of frustration and apathy in our system. But unfortuately out politicians are too busy politicizing games, entertainment and other non issues to intervene in these highlyu relevant ones. The Human Resources ministry just doesn't seem to be getting enough of quotas and other ways of appeasement in professional education sector- as for the primary/ secondary education who cares??? that's too small for us, isn't it??

teacher's position is next to mother/father. today's teacher lost all their sanctity, devotion to duty, moral values in public. Actually they are also in progressive mood but failed to make accountability of nation building.

Gowri,
I got your point clear. Yes, "PEANUTS GET MONKEYS".

Now, my point is 'teaching' as a profession, has been vested with such a privilege that 'whatever the teachers do are for the good of the students' and for centuries, the profession had lived up to the reputation.
No other profession has this kind of responsibility and authority vested upon them especially with regard to children.

Those days people took up traching profession for pride and previlege they commanded in the soceity.

Nowadays, when such a 'noble' profession gets commercialized, this is what happens. In this particular case, the teacher beat her to death because, 'she refused to join her private tution classes'.

My point is, under no circumstances, a teacher should be allowed to beat up a child in any school, regardless whether he is - under-paid / a psychic / ill-treated by his wife or mother-in-law / Indian cricket team crahses out from next world cup prelims.

Hawkeye,
Thats what every parent should be doing. Its sad that parents pass their responsiblity to 'discipline' their kids to the school and teachers and that is where such maniac teachers take advantage.

Aha! Again you do not understand what I am saying here...

Being paid poorly gives no- body an excuse to beat up a child...In fact no body is this world has any kind of excuse to beat anybody else..

But like I said.. IF U PAY PEANUTS U WILL GET MONKEYS..

A kind, caring, intelligent person who is genuinely interested in teaching may not be able to take it up as a vocation, as he may have a family to take care of and mouths to feed.

So he will go for a job which pays well, even though he is a gifted and natural teacher.

On the other hand.. any idiot, who didnt get admission elsewhere, can do his B.Ed. and become a teacher, even if he has no aptitude or love for it

As for policemen.. they do vent their anger at you.. by catching you at crossroads for no fault of yours and demanding money!! It's just a different method of doing it, and which hurts just as much!
