Screech said: Thanks Neha for your support. India is a democracy. Each one of them is free to choose a profession that they like regardless of caste, religion or sex. I know many women who don't like the profession of cheerleading - they like to be doctors, engineers etc. But at the same time I know many who like to dance, cheer, act etc. I think women should be free to choose their own profession instead of being forced into it. If foreign cheerleaders inspire some women in India to take up the profession then well and good. There are many talented Indian cheerleaders as well. I also think that ban on dance bars must be lifted. Instead of monitoring an issue/profession our politicians take the easy way out by banning professions. I 'm not surprised to see our politicians equate cheerleading with dancebars. They don't know the difference between the two. The main thing is creating opportunities for everyone. May 06, '08 |

Twenty20 is an intense game, so the cheerleaders will ease your tension. India will be backward forever if you keep putting restrictions on women. That's what separates us from developed countries.
