 Fashionista or a fashion-victim?

I have always been a fashion -enthusiast much to the amusement of my friends and have to keep up with the trends as soon as they come in vogue. I enjoy this roller-coaster ride and do not want to get off though it can make me dizzy.
Fashion keeps changing with every season.......and I cannot ignore even if I wanted to....as it is rubbed into our faces with every rita, gita and sita commenting on whats in and whats out. Keeping up with it is a task by itself.
Do v want to say that the changing trends do not really affect us and that I wear what really suits me and what is comfortable?...i guess not...... unless u wanna b left behind....thats my take on it..........
Whats a pity is that fashion does not come a full circle and v cannot save the fav jeans which have gone out of style thinking they will b back at a certain point of time. My drain-pipe jeans from the last season are still with me and fitting but alas........ though the drain-pipes r back .........this time they have come with the low- waist.
Coming to the low-waist jeans...the less said about it the better....first to accomodate them i had to tone my already trim tummy to avoid a muffin- top and have always to look for the seating in a restaurant or anywhere else to the wall to avoid a dekho of the cleavage of the rear kind and not to mention the under clothing v get to see with some casual dressers....... information overload guys.....
I donno if u folks remember the psychedelic green that had come in vogue a few years back. The colour which is usually avoided like plague suddenly became current fav and i treated myself to a few pieces of clothing in that color and my boys were not spared too....poor darlings were young and still believed mommy knows best.......
So what is it that makes u go that extra step and wear the uncomfortable clothing and sometimes in awful colours just to be "IN".......so i guess that makes me a self-confessed fashion-victim.

A very nice and timely observation. very well written.
At the cost of being politically incorrect I just want to add the current trend of dressing of fashion is more of an eye sore rather than any eye candy.

O wow! I must say you've taken a good dip in the world of fashion! And to some extent, made your sons take a shower in it too! In my opinion whatever looks good on me is my fashion! Your flair for writing comes through rather strikingly. You have the trick of the narration too. The flow of expressions, the use of words is all fine indeed, keep it up!

great blog indeed and very interstingly written...and i agree fashion is more of making a statment. i had come across a very intersting thing said by Pierre Cardin "We undress men and women, we don’t dress them any more." so agree with ur fear of the rear cleavage being shown...people do get dressed up too casualy these days..depends the attitude..for me fashion is great but u have attitude to carry it.

Nice post there.
Good to know your clothing preferences.
What is comfortable is fashion,
what is not, is pain.
I am just a bakra, I have my woolens.
