Things you can do for ur mom
I have noticed often mom does everything, virtually all of the giving ( which i suppose goes unnoticed) and very less of taking. She doesnt look forward you gift her everytime she does anything for us.... a liitle appreciation in form of love as a mom is all she needs. I tried to figure out things down below which SHUD BE DONE FOR MOM
1. Vacation : i mean to say, u need not take her to hawaii just give her a break from all the routine job she had been doing in and out the whole day. Mom usually dont get a full day off like we do when we study , work or fall sick.
2. Mom's Story : U might have heard all the bed time stories from her, take some time out now listen to her own real story. The stroies of her era, when she was kid, her days in school, college. Make a mom's circle where in she speaks her heart out.
3. Beat her in cooking if u can : it feel so good to have food that too home made once u return back from school, college or office or even play. u will never find such a kinda taste in this entire universe. i will lose anything if u can find the same taste anywer same as the mom made food. Try to cook for her when u give her the off day. Give her an oppurtunity to praise u for cooking.
4. Bad relationship : If your relationship with your mom has not been the best, sit down in front of a year-long calendar or planner and mark down dates and things which you can plan to improve this relationship. Start off by making a formal first appointment. Then pick dates on which you can keep contact with her and build your relationship on a regular basis.
5. If mom is not alive : If your mom is not alive, visit her relatives and friends and ask what you can do for them. Consider these two Hadiths (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him):
1. The Messenger of Allah said: When a person dies, his actions come to an end, except for three things: a continuing Sadaqa (charity), knowledge from which benefit is still being derived, and a righteous child who prays for her or him (translated meaning from Muslim).
2. Abu Usaid Saidi said: We were once sitting with Rasulullah when a man from the tribe of Salmah came and said to him: O Messenger of Allah! do my parents have rights over me even after they have died? And Rasulullah said:
Yes. You must pray to Allah to bless them with His Forgiveness and Mercy, fulfill the promises they made to anyone, and respect their relations and their friends (Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah).
6. Pick up her feet and spread the word: The Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) said: Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother (Ahmad, Nasai). Ask your mom to lift her feet, so you can locate where Jannah is. Then tell others about your discovery by sharing what Islam has to say about moms and their importance in our lives.
Write down what you think can make her day special.
but i request you not to forget Dad in ur life too, he too has important part to play in ur life....
Cheers!!
