Screech said: Then I don't know how you can call the present Congress influenced by the British. Its US that rules the world now, everyone else are their followers. We live in the age of globablisation. The present Congress is pro globalization and pro US which is fine with me because that's the only way we can become a developed nation. UK is no longer a monarchy. It's better to talk in terms of economy than religion when we are talking about development. As they say it happens only in India. The main reason for us being backward is sticking to the age old garbage. Humanity has advanced, and its high time we started thinking globally instead of some form of "hindu" administration. Screech said: Well, its a waste of time trying to think what could have been done. The main reason for the fall of Hindu empire was spread of Jainism and Buddhism that spread in the era of Ashoka which weakened the army, and let the muslim invaders invade India. There was no resistance. After that there was serious misinterpretation in Anthropolgy which gave rise to a rasict theory.(google Aryan Race and read it in Wikipedia) This gave the British colonialists a great opportunity to divide India. They fuelled unrest between north and south indians based on Aryan and Dravidian race. Further they took advantage of Hindu-Muslim divide. We weren't in a postion to fight them, but more importantly they didn't help India develop, but plundered our country and left us in a quandary. May 19, '08 |
