 A Six Pack Biryaani

Goat meat is an important constituent of non vegetarian diet. It is the basis of such famous culinary items like Biryani, Korma, variety of Kebabs, etc. Further, it is the only red meat that is culturally acceptable to large segment of our population.

The goat meat, available in our country used to be very tender and could be easily cooked without use of pressure cooker.

The goat meat currently available at the butcher in the city is no longer as tender as it used to be. It requires pressure cooking for long duration (fifteen to twenty steams) for it to be edible.

I suspect what we are getting is meat from herds that have been treated with anabolic steroids (the hormone used by athletes and body builders to develop large muscles). These agents are routinely used in many countries and there is very real resistance to it among the people, there. This is similar to use of oxytocin injections for increasing milk production and enhancing the size of vegetables.

I am not sure if this is legal or not. I am however sure that this may not be very healthy for the consumer.

Nowadays, whenever I eat mutton I am reminded of those muscular hulks like Shoeb Akhtar. Obviously it has put me off goat meat…….., and I am not very fond of white meat like chicken and fish, so I am a forced vegetarian for the time being.

Have already damaged my system with all this crap. Guess I can't harm it any further. Worse still if you eat hotel food 24/7. The chemical colouring they use to make the food look attractive is really toxic.

As sriangood says, I have also become a sort of a forced vegetarian, though I yield to temptation once in a while.

Its' not just the mutton but the vegetables and all the milk and dairy products that are contaminated, so even vegetarianism does not pay.

Thanks to all the visitors to this blog and to those who shared their opinion.
To those who expressed their helplessness vis a vis the available food …..I totally agree and perhaps this blog is just that ……napunsak krodh.
To those who suggested I change my eating habits …………Good suggestion (easier said then done).
BB loves goat, so do I.
Shomeonly – I am talking about goat-kid meat ……,thats why I suspect use of anabolic steroids.
I am quite sure that no body would like their food to be handsome hunks …..imagine rotis/ rice /vegetable as a handsome hunks like Khali…………lol.

THANK YOU ALL.

I don't mind what it is fed with ,but hope that you become a permanent vegetarian.
If all think like this and stop eating that poor creature, it will not be fed with steroids.
