 Tick tock tick tock...

Evenings are the best time of the day for me, I enjoy my evening walks. Setting eve Sun, cool breeze from the lake nearby, radio Indigo for company makes it all a very enjoyable experience. Walking round and round the block does get monotonous at times, and the some of the lyrics like,” shake what your mamma gave you” sometimes makes me drift off and pay more attention to the surroundings.
The people that I meet on these walks become familiar faces and elicit a smile as we pass each other. I have observed that very pregnant ladies suddenly takes to these walks maybe because their doctors have advised them or because they do feel cooped at home and want to take in fresh evening air to relieve the tension that starts building up as the time approaches to the D day. As the days go on they suddenly disappear giving room for my assumption that they must have become mothers….in no time at all they come out pushing a pram and I would then realize that 6 months have passed!!!
Seasons come and go and the years too, just now I am beginning to accept that I am 40 +... the dreaded 'F" word........ I don’t think it is ...just, the way the time passes without us being aware of it. It would be wonderful isn’t it if we were able to catch time and able to savor it in our own leisure....:). The way time flies, It’s as if we were in a kind of limbo watching the changes taking place around us with fascination as a detached bystander.
What really got me thinking on these lines was this encounter with a very sprightly old man of about 85+ who noticed me walking everyday and wished to speak with me. So my neighbor called me in with a  sheepish grin and  I joined this man who was sitting on the porch. Though I was little impatient in the beginning for having to cut short my walk. I forgot all about it once I started talking to this man. He was a very cheerful man and had been very active till very recently had broken his hip and needed some help with walking. His main complaint was none of his kin take him seriously and brush away everything he says with  the adage, his age that was acting up and was not very happy for having been branded old!!. This made me realize that it was universal. Our spirit remains untouched with age.
Maybe it is for this reason that we cannot accept the changing face in the mirror and put in a lot of effort to see that it does not change. I guess it is for the best too, who would like to end up as a bitter and cynical old man/woman after the lessons (beatings) that the life has given them?  and  who cares how the world sees us? But  we will have to prepare for the eventuality …….and be more tolerant to the elderly around us. Having a set of friends who will patiently give an ear to all the aches and pains will help….:). Moreover with the life expectancy increasing we will have a lot of company.
When I was in my twenties  I would look on everyone above thirty as over the hill. Well I have realized it now, that the hill is growing and am still climbing uphill………. How the perspective changes.....anyways life has never been better, I have reclaimed my life, have become more self-confident, raised wonderful kids, entered a comfy zone with the hubby dear as we know each other inside out.........am on a roll. With the media claiming forties as the new thirties we have everything going for us. Life has not come to a standstill as was expected. So age is just a number and we can be as young as we feel (which in my case is 16…) . And maybe the wisdom is trickling in….just a wee bit…. So have started looking at time as not a time-bomb but an ally departing wisdom!!

Jokes apart; the above is the condition of a person who thinks that 'he/she will never get old'!!! As also; he/she will bee 'MASTER OF HER/HIS DESTINY' for ever and ever!!!!!
The happiest person is the one who takes it all on his/her stride; if 'without breaking even a step', EVEN BETTER!!!!
Changes will come all the time in our lives; a result of old age; change of surroundings (Result of Promotion/ a New Job); Addition of new friends/colleagues; again, to fill the void left behind by a departed soul; So on and so forth!!!

Mee; Aiye bee one of zems; likes zee 85 years old in UR blob here; whatt kinds bee yee????

this is forcing me take up the theory of aging and staying young. one has to take old age in his /her stride . Though i have seen remarkably younger looking people far beyong their age, it is a time-bomb one cant ignore.may post pone aging by right food and cosmetic care.

1.Aging is directly proportional on the thinking process. If positive it prolongs or postpones effectual aging though numerical aging cannot be changed.
2.Daily brisk walking as you are doing is very good for your health both physical as well as mental, emotional and spiritual. As you have yourself established it has increased your social contacts.
3.The age of 40 is just the real begining of life which is at its peak at 50, so don't worry my friend you are still a new born in the world of grown up adults.
