If their presence can be considered to be making fun of a pious institution, well that fun is being made everywhere else - in organizations, temples, relationships..... and not just matrimony. Find creep, ignore creep creep persists, destroy it. By all this indignation, it is you giving the creep the power to violate your vision of things. June 15, '08 |

It is therefore assumed that a person with a profile will not be averse to furthering communication with profiles s/he is interested in. I don't see this as making fun of the institution of marriage at all. I can't blame guys for wanting to interact with suitable candidates. And yeah, don't tell me most of us don't chat at all times of the day or night as we wish. A person interested in "parental guidance" should probably also approach parents of the guy, no? There are countless matchmaking organizations that organize this parental interaction and horoscopes and all. Why get into a matrimonial social networking type site, if that is not what they want to do? The parents have their choices in what they consider appropriate and so do the guys. There is no rule that says any one method is the right one. June 15, '08 |

But you do have a point in that many of the 'prospective grooms' on online matrimony sites are only looking for someone to chat with for fun. If the site provides you with this alternative, you can 'report abuse' about such guys. Or stop using that site. Or else keep trying to find that elusive sincere guy... June 11, '08 |
