 What it takes to be a Happily Married Couple?

It happened long time back,
We friends were discussing on the topic “What it takes to be a Happily Married Couple?”
After listening to all our points in the debate, my friend Harsha (lawyer by profession, popular with name harshalawyer. He always poses as a teacher and gives advices to all of us. Huh…I fight with him a lot, but secretly admire all those faultless advices) gave this speech:
============================================
What it takes to be a Happily Married Couple?

A Man or a Woman is drawn to each other.
They have the feelings for one another and determine that he/she would like to spend the rest of their life with the other.
However a stroke of misfortune may descend and end in separation..
The scar would remain for long.
It is said::

MARRIAGE MAY BRING FORTUNES TO FEW
BUT MISFORTUNES TO MANY!!
In your loneliness you may wonder where did your judgment go wrong?

Well here are some aspects one needs to look into just to determine if the other person is right for you.

1. Are you honest with this person about everything concerning yourself?
2. Even when you are tired or grumpy, do you long to be in the company of this person?
3. When you have nothing to do, do you still prefer to have this person around in your company?
4. Would this person fit well into your family atmosphere?
5. Do you trust this person absolutely and feel safe and secure in his company?
6. Would you treat this person as your best friend?
7. Does this person have qualities that you really admire?
8. Do you think in any argument you can gracefully surrender to him/her just to make him/her regret for the mistake.
9. Would you move with him/her without the slightest doubt in your mind in what so ever he/she does.
10. Do you like to touch this person and be touched by him or her often?

Well if you have affirmative answers....
Its time to celebrate!
Let the wedding bells ring!!
===============================================

I made funny comments on his speech and all others including him joined in laugh.
I was too excited that I decided to check whether my date suits for it or not.
So I typed all those ten commandments and took print out.
Took a pencil and started giving ticks to the points which suit YES.

I took all the points which do not require his presence and left the other points for practicals.

==================================================

PRACTICAL TESTING OF RULES IN FINDING THE RIGHT PARTNER

7. Does this person have qualties that you really admire?
Ans: Y Not...
He is such a STUPID that whatever I say he listens in calm nature. If I shout at him...he smiles. If I cry...he laughs.
I will get such an anger that I forget crying and chase him to beat him.

So all qualities of him r really admirable...gave tick to the point.

4.Would this person fit well into your family atmosphere?
Ans: He can be fit to any atmosphere...here problem is with me. I have to think how far I can fit into his family atmosphere.

So I gave to this point related to him.

5.Do you trust this person absolutely and feel safe and secure in his company?
Ans: Arey baba...I patted my head twice.
Once I wished to convey my intimate feelings to him.
So I touched his hand with mine. But Oh God...what he did...
He took my hand into his and while looking at my fingers he said
"Sneha...U seem to be Anaemic...let us go to doctor"
I wished I should break my head on to nearby wall.

So...Gave Tick to this point.

6.Would you treat this person as your best friend?
Ans: Best Friend...What is this???
I gave him nick names like "STUPID FELLOW, BUDDHU etc".

So how far this Q is valid in our relation I don't know...so Invalid point.

8. Do you think in any argument you can gracefully surrender to him/her just to make him/her regret for the mistake.
Ans: Arguement...between us...Naa baba Naa.
It is always one way traffic. Only I talk like chatter box.
So graceful surrendering etc r big words between us.

So...this point too Invalid.

Remaining points I decided to check in Practicals...So I called him to meet me in the evening after office hours. He came. I took my slip and read first point without his notice.

1. Are you honest with this person about everything concerning yourself?
Ans: Sashank...I m feeling hungry...Can U take me to any Restaurant?
So, I m honest in saying things to him.
Turned away and gave Tick.
He said..."Oh Yes" and we went to near by restaurant.

2. Even when you are tired or grumpy, do you long to be in the company of this person?
Ans: I m really tired today...he is taking me to restaurant and after that he will drop me at home safely...so I like this person's company.

So...gave Tick to this point too.

9. Would you move with him/her without the slightest doubt in your mind in what so ever he/she does.
10. Do you like to touch this person and be touched by him or her often?

Ans: I wished to check these points in correct way.
Once again today I touched his hand.
This time he turned to me and said "U r testing Harha's commandments...right?" and continued laughing.

I got angry...Y r U laughing? Have U checked those points?
Still laughing he said "Sneha Dear...

WHEN WE R IN LOVE... NO CHANCE OF DOUBTS
WHEN DOUBTS R THERE...NO CHANCE OF LOVE"

Thats Y I love my STUPID FELLOW.

===================================================

Whenever I recollect this episode, smiles dance on my face.

Dear Sumedha...our emotions dominate many times in taking decisions and deciding the life partner. In emotional mood, mind never use logical and practical way which is not appropriate in decision making. Thats y we have to check compatibility with other person...there these ten commandments help. Even though I wrote it in a funny way, as Geethsudha said every girl needs to keep these guidelines in mind while selecting the life partner.
Thanks for the appreciation.

Solar, apple and all other friend...thanks a lot for ur encouraging comments.<br />

great blog indeed...an intersting insight into the relatioship called marriage..well, i believe....there could be no predetermined doctorines or commandments for a relationship be it a marriage or it couldn't be tested ever ...though yes, being candid and feeling the need of each other equally in moments of happiness and distress is indispensable to it....thx to unflappable for sharing this with me...
