The baby was still sick today. :( I left the office around noon to get home and tend to her and Mia.
It was rainy in the morning and mostly overcast this afternoon. It was a lot cooler then normal, which is no complaint at all from me. It was still quite humid here, but that is all to be expected in Southern Indiana.
Work was boring, so it was the typical Friday, I suppose. I had a borning meeting this morning and then left the office shortly thereafter. I did stop at the Farmers Market on the way home to pick up some fresh vegetables and at a good price. I also made another stop: the fireworks store. Since the baby was still sick, I knew it would be impossible to go to the movies tonight. So, I wanted to pick up a few fireworks for the kids. Of course, I don't let the kids handle the fireworks. I picked up a few fountains that the kids and I enjoyed this evening. I also stopped at the butcher shop to pick up some meat.
I picked up the kids some lunch this afternoon as a treat from Dairy Queen. I prefer to cook, but since Maya has been ill, I am lucky to get anything down her, period. So, if she was drink a slushie or eat some fries and chicken strips, I will pick those up for her. I would prefer her eat something, even if it's no that healthy, then eat or drink nothing. After lunch, I took the baby for long walk. She was in her stroller the whole time. We just walked around the neighborhood. Maya is starting to talk a lot more, so as we walk through the neighborhood, she's always commenting on items that we see on the lawns. It's really cute! She comments on the statues and different items we might encounter.
After we took the walk, Maya went down for a nap. Mia stays pretty busy doing her own things. She enjoys spending most of her time in the backyard on the patio area.
The ducks flew into the yard several times today and Mia made sure they had pleanty of food. They really love the chicken scratch, so Mia makes sure they have pleanty. Also, there is a little mud puddle off the driveway, near the areas where the ducks eat the chicken scratch, that we keep watered at all time.
After Maya woke, it was dinner time. We had something quick and easy. After dinner, we did the fireworks and spent some time outside talking to the neighbors. The kids had a good time.
This weekend, I think the kids and I will take it easy. I was going to drive up to Holiday World tomorrow with the kids, but I want Maya to be 100% better. However, there is no place like home. and as long as I'm with my kids, there is no place I'd rather be.
