DONT CRY FIELD MARSHAL!

Dont cry Field Marshal Maneckshaw your funeral could do well without them!!

I know very well you would have wanted those hypocrites to be away from you. You would have rather one man accompany your funeral who was an honest man and fought for the great cause of the country , than have a procession where not a single one would have even a grave face the moment he turned his back away from the graveyard !!

You knew very well why those politicians, beaurocrats, army personnels didnt care to attend your funeral procession. Yeah Sam , you had lost your usefulness to them. What use can a dead body be to those merchants of glory and selfishness ? You could not fetch a single vote for the politicians, could not donate a single paisa to the party fund . You did a marvellous job in leading our forces to a grand victory , but that was the past . Didnt have any newsworthiness now. No TRP ratings for the visual media .

You knew all the way that we are so practical a people . Our time is money . We dont want to waste our time in such a useless activity as that of attending a funeral of a had been hero! We have so many living ones here.Better be with them and make our presence felt there which makes better business sense!

You knew that not only the politicians but all of us are indulging in this game of selfishness and selfglorification shamelessly day in and day out .For us petty self gains are way above the country, society or any other organisation.We value the cast , religion , language , region , money of the candidate in an election more than his actual qualification for the candidacy .It is only we who choose those people to the parliament .

Who else other than you would be knowing that in a democracy you get the governance you deserve.?

You must be laughig in your so fresh a grave at the crocodile tears shed by the news papers and other media reports about the callousness shown to your funeral by the politicians and others like them. Your laugh at them must be about the fact that those tons of articles and columns written , was an unpleasant duty performed . None of them would ever think about it again .Their concern and seriousness was confined to the length of the article only. Next day some other more important , more news worthy , stories fetching more TRP ratings would replace your death news.You will be forgotten , become a had been and filed in the archives !

You must have by now realised fully well that for us nothing matters more than our own self interest, the upper most priority in all our activities .

Dont cry Field Marshal your funeral could do well without them!!!!!!
