NO FRIEND OF MINE

You called me on the phone
And stated how the male should always be in control
I’m thinking to myself is this really why you called
Thinking that way is why you are not here
I want you to think about what it will take in order for you to be near
Or you’ll never have the chance to become my man
And from here on out, I’ll accept no more of your calls

I don’t jump to anyone snapping their fingers
If you can’t respect that leave me alone
No man on earth will have such power over me
I can compromise but definitely will not be controlled

You state that it was a joke
But nothing is funny when your intention is to cause pain
I know that all East Indian men aren’t like that
There are many I converse with at work who doesn’t act this way
You say mean things and that an East Indian male would never want someone like me
When you can only speak for yourself not others
And as a Woman
Finding any man has never been a difficult task
You’re just upset because I don’t want you to be

Remember you said you had many women out there
Why you’re sharing this with me as if I really care
In fact I don’t recall asking you for anything
Another reason I don’t want you near
It’s not surprising,
I felt it earlier than now and even then when you first said you were my friend
Is this how you treat women in your country no wonder you’re alone
So stop claiming to be this gift to women
When in reality all you wish to do is use them and cause them pain

It’s me who you continue to call
Why I don’t even know
But I have no desire for any man for materials or guidance
Just one to love for life and hold, not control

So don’t ever joke if you can’t address a woman appropriately by her name
I never thought you would stoop so low like that
But nothing surprises me interacting with folks online anyway
However I’m not shocked and I can’t be bought, I’m a monogamous lady
You need to learn how to interact with others appropriately
Or forever you’ll be lonely

From here on out don’t ever call
Not here to put you down
I forgive you and now I’m saying goodbye
For I prefer to get to know someone who is always kind
Don’t worry about me for I will find the right one
No matter what you think or say
You can’t treat a woman that way
I’m a highly intelligent woman and definitely will be fine
