Everyday we see that there are more crimes committed by the law enforcers than the law breakers ...

 61 YEARS IN DEPENDENCE !!!!

Yeah  it  is  sixty  one long years in dependence after we got  our much  awaited and  well deserved independence !

You  may  question about  the  sanity and validity of my contradictory statement , dependence  after independence ? But very sad to say that this is  probably the most valid  statement which can sum up our attitude to day !

Dont you think we are still dependent on our age  old customs , beliefs ,   thoughts ,practices which are the bottlenecks to our growth ?

The  country of Lord Budha , Lord Mahavir,Mahatma Gandhi is now among the top 15  corrupt  nations ?

The country with golden opportunities some centuries  back , where everyone wanted to come for business and education , now ranks  128th in human development index ?With  per  capita  income of just a meagre Rs.2500/-per month . More than 15% population below  poverty line !!

The country which  had Takhsshila and Nalanda universities where students from all over the world used to come for higher education , now has only 64.3% literacy rate ? Students from here going to other countries for higher education ?

We talked of electrification in each and every village , but after 61 years we dont have enough for even big cities what to talk of villages !We talk about  industrial growth and high tech , but we dont have power to feed the existing industry !

We have the second largest population in the world , so much of man power, highly  trained people who are running the IT and nuclear programmes of other nations!! Why their own nation is so lagging behind??

Why  this  poverty  in the  land  of plenty ???

Because gentlemen/ladies we dont  know  how to live together , we dont know  how  to  work together , we dont know how to celebrate together and we dont know  how  to mourn together !!

Because gentlemen we dont  have  any dignity of labour ! Physical labour is looked down upon like the most  demeaning virtue one  can have !

There are other ills with us  but these two have played the greatest havoc with  our growth and prosperity  as  a nation !

We are too dependent on these  two ills !!!

Why dont  we live together ? Because our culture and teachings from time immemorial stops  us from doing so ! We believed in the Varn Ashram ! Brahman.Kshatriya , Vaishya and Shudra were the four  classes in which we divided ourselves. This division was not at all rigid and never advocated monopoly  of a certain community in a certain class . It was done to classify people as per their capability and not  to  degrade any one for  being in a certain class .
But with time certain communities who were on the top and among the revered class , made it their  own feifdom and prohibited other classes to enter it . Made it a very  rigid and tight compartment . And not only that they termed the Shudras as "untouchables". This was the first  divisive act of our society ! Our society was now touchables , and untouchables ! Most heinous crime  against humanity was done centuries back !
We were divided into so  many casts and factions.

All the foreign invaders , exploited this  division , and the coversion from Hinduism to other religions  started because of this discrimination only !.

We blame Britishers for  their  Divide and rule policy , but  gentlemen they didnt divide us , we were already divided , they only exploited us to the maximum !

And has this divisive game stopped ? No sir/madam , after the independence we were further divided by our politicians , and this game is still continuing and how long and to what extent will it  go further can anyone tell ???
This  divisive mind of our politicians has led to the most  harmful and detrimental policy of reservation . This one system has done the greatest harm and choked the growth of our nation to the maximum ! We are injecting inefficiency  and incompetency in our  system   , dividing our people    by  design , knowingly !

These divisive policies  stop us to live together , work together as a team , and without  a good team can anyone win a single  match ???NO ,  NEVER !!!!

We  shun  hard  work and  physical labour ! But at the same time we want prosperity too. What is the  way out ? Employ  short cuts . Earn maximum , work minimum , within shortest period of time ! Is it possible ? Why not , we have the  sharpest brains ! Employ unfair means ! And here starts the most favourite  pastime of our nation  , yes you guessed right , the name of the game is  "corruption ". Everyone and anyone worth his salt in politics and govt. is well adept in this game !
Votes  are garnered  not on the basis of any specific policy , but by the most effective and time tested method  of the use of  cast, religion , region and what not ! The shortest and the most easy way to success !!

So gentlemen/ladies dont you believe by now in my statement of 61 years in "dependence" ??????

How long we will be  dependent  can anyone  say for  sure ????

Of course we can be free . The need of the hour is to rise and do our own small bit . Wherever  we  can , in our own work places , our own homes , our neighbourhoods , in our  dealings with others .

Let us resolve we will be free of these two vices !!

No  doubt  our  country will also be free and will breathe a sigh of independence !!!!!!!!

Firstly PM shud be one of our fropperites....
Secondly all the political outfits shud be banned and instead there shud be all teenagers who shud be given the responsibility of managing the country...

And then everything will change by itself.. forget cast, forget religion we will all be FRIENDS .... NOT STRANGERS

Yeah right as Sumedha has said , it is the duty of all of us to do our bit to bring about the change and shed our old beliefs and thoughts and replace them with the newer and more commensurate thoughts which are relevant with the modern times !!

I am sure the days are not far away when we will be one of the most powerful economies in the world !!

like at home, when we find some piece of furniture mismatching with the surroundings or rather adding an element of ugliness or odacity to it, we simply dont ridicule, we throw it out of our place and fill that corner with something more beautiful, in the same way, we need to do with those factors which have brought our country to this stage....

HOPE U WUD LYK AGREEING TO THIS...

u have already intiated the first step, let all of us join U in doing the rest.....

i read this blog quite a number of times to check my reaction in fact before i really coment on this...well whirley i agree to u, the facts described here leave no ground for everyone to disagree, we all as matured citizens and aware people know these things.

and as a part of nation especially where freedom of expression and speech comes cheap to everyone, we readily take criticism as a strong weapon to take out our anger and distress on such a disheartening situation, but wont u like to agree that we are not only the victims of this malfunctioning, but culprit too to a large extent.

at a cursory glance, all the factors whether outcome of our political or social system, or resulting out of our cultural values after all, who are the makers of these??? and who are the followers, finally WE!! as madhumita poiunted out, it should be questioned what we have done for nation.nation is not soil or earth only, it is marked by us, the people...
