India needs a little bit more spirit

Indians are great people. I billion of them...

On the whole they are non violent, to the point of submisive, and non interfering to the point of meekness.

Do I make sense? We seem to be inferiour physically and mentally or am I just dreaming that we stand nowhere in the world olympics.

We just dont have it in us as a nation to go out there, stand up in front of the world and say Hello world...India is coming to challenge you.
Like China.Just look at them guys.

Why cant we be ashamed enough of the poor standing in the olympics year after year.
why do we blame our shortcomings on the corruption, on political system, on ignorance, on poverty? Why are we just looking for new and new excuses?
Why cant we have shinning bright youth leaders?

We seem to do well in academics, but mostly churn out millions of pustaki pandits!
Tell new graduates to go and do something with their own hands, DIY projects, hands on stuff ,and they will wilt. They know not what to do. For the education system is memory oriented. It does not  recognize the spirit of the LETS DO IT guys.

The illeterate mechanics are not recognized inspite of their ability to recover your total loss cars. The workers with talent, the people who never got degrees but know practically everything about everything run the factories and the mills and keep India going..sigh sigh.

The roadside amateur gymnast is not trained to go places..The people with money who can afford to send the kids to top training facilities are not the best talent to begin with!
Our local and state and national sports authorities have failed to spot and nurture the right spirit, and catch the right talent at a young age.

We are happy to blame it on others but none of us do anything about teaching our kids to go out and fight.
Strive till it hurts, till it breaks our bones, and draws our tears,
Work harder and beyond our endurance limits to test our spirit and feel the glory.
We have failed as individuals to bring out the fighting spirit in our kids,We are content to give them pocket money to spend, gifts like expensive toys, electronic gadgets, clothes, cosmetics, foods and more.

But we failed to give them the spirit to do or die. To go out there and conquer the world, to laugh at hardships, to cry out in joy and say to the world:
I am an Indian, I have big dreams and hey ...I did it.!

When will things change I wonder. When will we be the parents that our country wants us to be? When will we give our kids the values of acheivement and when will we stand proudly in front of the world as a country of Winners?

Ask P.T.Usha others from Kerala, how they come upto this level.Thy will tell the big story.
If we have the people to do what the Chinese is doing we haven't the means to nuture them.
Encourage those, and see what happens. They will be better than those gold medalits
