'Seeing the tricolour rise made me cry' - Milkha Singh

Read this article... the great Milkha Singh's take on Abhinav Bindra winning the first every Olympic Gold Medal at Olympics. Now that Independence Day is just around the corner, the victory would make Indians feel even more proud.

Anyway, Milkha Singh rightly points out that winning at the Olympics is any day a bigger achievement than Cricket World Cup. In Cricket, the team competes against only 11 countries and here is a single man against 200 competitors.

Like Milkha says, hope the gold medal really changes the face of Indian sports and finally other equally good, or even better, sports come to the forefront. But then again, the only thing that sells here is glamour which most sports don't boast of!

Hope the Commonwealth Games, 2010, in India give us more boost to win some more medals and hope in the Olympics too! But, right now, cheers to Abhinav and best luck to all the other sportsmen and women!

singlehand...he cud achieve what others are still dreaming of.... so what if he is a rich KID... there are many rich kids who are just SPOILT BRATs.....

Kapil Dev also said the same thing yesterday that abhinav's achievement is much more than the cricket world cup win or even T20 win because the competition is much tough here at olympics and one sportsman has to compete with many many others as compared to cricket which is played by just a handful of countries.
