Corruption is root of all evils
Corruption is the root of all the evils of our society . Even the rising incidents o terrorism are the result of corruption.Let me cite my own example.I was returning from Pakistan . On the customs,I saw how people were being harassed.I had a suitcase full of books.A coolie comes and whispers if you do not want your luggage to be opened, you will have to pay 150 rupees.I agreed. When it was my turn for customs clearance, the same coolie goes to cutoms official and whisperes that I am ready to pay rupees 150.I was given the clearance slip.If it is so easy then how can be smuggling of explosives be checked.A friend of mine was told me one day that his two family members crossed the border without a passport or visa and they had to pay only twenty thousand rupees to the person on duty at the check post.
A friend of mine who lived in Lucknow and posted as transport superintendent at Baghpat check post had a unique arrangement with his colleagues. He used to go on duty for two days only.He was supposed to be on duty for 48 hours continuously . It was taken of grantde that he worked for six days at rate of 8 hours of a working day. For the rest of the days he used to in Lucknow. Is it humanly possible to be on duty continuously for 48 hours? This is how our government machinery works.
Every government department spends a fixed amount of money on computer literacy every year. But the pace of computerisation is dismal. The employees are against the comuputerisation because we are waiting a comuter to be invented which accepts bribe.
