 Shattered dreams...

This is for every girl (me included) who's upset about being dumped by their boyfriend.  Much worse things can happen. Like losing your boyfriend two months before your wedding.  I still can't believe it has happened to one of my dear friends! Everything was so perfect in their life... childhood sweethearts totally committed to each other, all set to get married with parents' consent... She was so excited that the day was finally arriving. And then the news came in that her fiance had a bike accident while getting home... head on collision with a drunk car driver! Just took a second for everything to come crashing down like a house of cards.

Every time I read about drunken driving claiming lives, it makes me so angry. And I am so angry and sad right now. My friend is one of the most helpful, cheerful, intelligent  girls I have met. And she's just 24 years old. I just can't bear to think what she must be going through right now. What sucks is that no matter what we say, it's not going to be good enough to do away with the pain and loss. One can only pray that he is in a peaceful place. And really, really hope that the bast*rd of the driver is brought to book. My friend went to the accident site  and has only been crying since.  All of us are so shocked that forget a happy tone we haven't been able to talk normally.

I was telling a friend about this yesterday and a guy was sitting with us, who goes, 'I don't feel sympathetic for dying people.' I was really shocked! So, I said that it was my friend who I was feeling bad about; she lost the guy she so loved and she's never going to be able to see him again. I didn't know what to say when he said, 'I feel more sympathetic for animals than human beings'. I only stared at him and chose to walk out. There IS no point saying anything to such people because they will never probably learn to respect human emotions. I respect his choice of caring more for animals but it was just to insensitive to make it be known when I was feeling so upset about my friend!

WHEN YOU SIT IN A CAR FIRST YOU MUST OBSERVE THE DRIVER'S ATTITUDE OF DRIVING.WHEN I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WITH ANYONES DRIVING I WILL SAY STOP AND GET DOWN. IT IS REALLY COMMON SENSE TO OBSERVE THE BEHAVIOUR BEFORE YOU TRAVEL WITH ONE WHICH IS NOT SAFE. PITY COMES LATER

im so sorry to hear this sad news,i can understand what u and ur friend is going thru, that is why i think, when these ppl are caught, they shud be brought to face the families they hv ruined in one minute.they shud experience their pain, their loss.only then these incidents will happen less, there shud be some schemes where ppl on the road shud be checked whether they are drink drivers.all my best wishes for ur friend to get peace one day, time is a gud healer.u take care too nova.

Thanks a lot, everyone. Anamika, really glad that you have faced the adversity so bravely. Salute to your spirit.

Olive, my friend is still in Pune. I plan to meet her as soon as she gets back. Wanted to go to Pune myself but she said it was very chaotic with a lot of relatives there so she wouldn't have been able to talk anyway.

the best thing to do in this phase is try to meet her as much as possible....

Don't try to advice or tell that time will HEAL etc....instead ask her to talk about her boyfriend .... LET HER TALK as much as she wants about HIM.....just listen silently....maybe she will cry but allow her to cry....don't ever stop her fromm crying.... slowly all the emotions about the past mate will come out.... IT's a slow process.....

Your friend may loose appetite...call her over to your home make food for her and FEED her....

Plan a religious TRIP......

Try as much as possible to be with HER...... that's the only way to LET GO!!!

may be you can search BEREAVED in google and get some more tips......this is what I've gone thro and am explaining my experience.....

AS regards the animal guy.......rememeber the OLD song.....KUCH tho log kahenge...logo ka kaam hain kehana.......just forget it fren.... don't take negative comments seriously

This is what people on the road fail to realize. in particular those on 2 wheelers. You cannot stop every drunken driver. But, one can definitely control his speed on the bike, to escape fatal accident.
Controlled speeds, following traffic rules, being extra cautious during wee-hours, always look out for the unexpected, - these are some simple things, yet, people find it difficult to follow..!!!

btw, that 'animally-friend guy'. did you check out he had a tail as well as fur all-over his body too..??? May be he was a Chimp in plain-clothes..!!!
