 " Item Song "

The monk was humming under his breath;
                 " Kajrare Kajrare Tore Naina Kare Kare".
                   Lopamudra looked up from the oven. She had never seen him in such  humor.
                  " How did you like Bunty aur Bably " ?
                  "Well, the movie was not bad ! But It was the item song I did like the most!"
                  " Hmmmmm"!
                  " But the dance was irrelevant !" The monk frowned!
                  " You enjoyed the dance and still you say the dance was irrelevant?"
                  " Ya, they could have done without it."
                  "  But the dance was not irrelevant, My Lord!Your frown speaks volumes for it."
                  " Hey Sweety, what's cooking ?"
                  " We enjoy frown on the so called upper class faces !"
                  " And what do you mean by 'we'?"
                  " By we I mean the women of India,My Lord."
                  " Ya, above all you are the divine mother."
                  " And what is the enjoyment for?"
                  " You are not that naive, my Lord."
                  " Let's discuss the issue,but I badly need my tea."
                  " Not a bad idea,my lord; you wait for me and I will be back in no time."
                 So I got her where she should be!The monk  started humming under his breath. He wanted Lopamudra to open up.Who else could be better authority?
                  Lopamudra was back with the tea things.
                 " How could my frown be your enjoyment,Sweety,?"
                 "An item dance is a message,my lord;kind of an announcement of 'Women's Lib'."
                " So this is revolt,I suppose!"
                " No, this is revolution,my lord,not a revolt; A revolution is a slow process,culminating into something we actually wanna achieve".
                " And when did it start"?
                " Well, in 1970s when we started burning our bra".
                " But that is not decent,my dearest".
                " Only poison can kill poison,my lord"!
                " Hmmmmm! you are right,perhaps!"
                " I am absolutely right,my lord;in a society where we are getting killed in the womb,no other way was out for us."
                " And what you mean by burning the bra?"
                " We refused to be merely show pieces;we refused to be baby sitters;we refused to go into the kitchen and cook;we booted out the very idea of 'Pati-Parmeshwar';As a matter of fact,we announced our lib and decided to be on our own;and all that we did believe, we did in broad day light;Smocking,Drinking or Flirting!"
                 Lopamudra was speaking with the determination of a leader and her posture was that of an architect.
               " And you justify such an attitude"?
               " Are we not justified"? She retaliated.
               " We are only claiming equality;Though we were not happy to do all this,and for that matter,no woman could be!"
               " And why"? The monk asked!
               " A woman is a mother,above all;she loves to cook,she loves to feed,she loves to nurture;she is custodian of the culture and the values;she is the protector of the fire; Can you imagine this world without women? And these swines are killing us in the womb?Since ages,they are insulting us,molesting us,raping us;Were they justified?And no man ever came forward to stop all this nonsense;So against our own wishes and nature,we started burning our bra;We sacrificed our motherhood to save the earth;A woman needs to be loved,to be pampered,and to be respected for what she is;She must be given all the opportunity to get adapted to her environment,social,religious and political,but she had been denied her due;Hence the revolution!"
                      "
But what an item dance has to do with women's lib?"
                      " An item dance is symbolic of our revolution that we have refused to dance to their tune; an item dance is an announcement that now they have to dance to our tunes;you got me,my lord?The revolution started in 1970s and the item dances are creating more frowns.But the grim of the society is an inkling of our victory;what was rotten yesterday is now welcomed in the drawing rooms;we spit and they lick with pride;even great journalists like Prabhu Chawla seeks an interview with us!"
                     " Oh really "?
                     " Didnt you watch his interview with Rakhi sawant?"
                     " Oh yes"!
                     " Do'nt you feel we are going from strength to strength?"
                     " And how much longer this would go on?"
                     This would go on until we eat and they start shitting for us! Ha! Ha!
                     " And then"?
                     " Then we will go back into the kitchen;We can't afford all this;But soon all our dreams will come true!"
                     Lopamudra got up and asked the monk;
                     " Are you not hungry,my dear?"
                     " Oh yes, I am waiting for my supper!"
                     Lopamudra went into the kitchen.She knew the monk was a great supporter of women's lib.
                    And the monk was humming under his breath;
                         'Kajrare Kajrare Tore Kare Kare Naina!"

to their course, it makes it much easier to stand up and be acWell done, Ashutosh,and hats off to you! I am humbled to be associated with such a soul that respects and recognises the contribution of women. Women have been struggling and fighting a loosing battle for ages but with men like you supporting and contributing to their course, it makes it much easier to stand up and be accepted and noticed. The battle is already half won when individuals like yourself stand up and fight for the injustice against us women! I am proud to call you my friend buddy, way to go!cepted and noticed. well,to change a system fast,one has to revolt,i hv in the past too to fight hypocracy in our indian society.they say all the right things but dont implement it.burning bra does not reflect women's lib,but what they are doing is working real hard to compete in a man's world so confidently and then taking care of their home and family life too with such an ease.hats off to women.men can learn a thing or two from them.no man has stood up when women are being raped,molested,sexually harrased.cat-calling,leering,wolf whistling are the other kinds which make them uncomfortable too.ok.men and women are made different,they think different,but all are humans first,same goes for kids too,no one has right to be harsh with them too.respect is a common factor here which is lacking.if two ppl are willing to do something,thats their right,but one cant force anything on each other.lets start respecting for once.gr8 post aashu,thanks for respecting us buddy.
