       Kyon hain yeh dooriyan in nazdikiyon  mein
       Kyon hain  yeh fasle in karibiyon mein ??

      Satlaz ka pani wohi hai yahan bhi wahan bhi
      Raavi behta hai yahan bhi wahan bhi
      Kashmir ki sarjamin yahan bhi hai wahan bhi

      Phir kyon hai yeh dooriyan in nazdikiyon mein
     Kyon hai yeh fasle in karibiyon mein ??



,     Id mein sevaiyon khi mithas
     Milne ki garamjoshi
      Khushiyon ki  bahar
     Yahan bhi wahi hai , wahan bhi wahi hai !!

    Phir kyon hain yeh dooriyan in nazdikiyon mein
     Kyon hain yeh fasle in karibiyon mein ??

    Ghalib aur Zauk ke kadradan yahan bhi hain wahan bhi
    Mehndi Hasan ki gazlen
    Log gaate hai yahan bhi wahan bhi
   Noorjahan ka noor chamakta hai
    Yahan bhi wahan bhi !

   Phir kyon hain yeh dooriyan in nazdikiyon mein
    Kyon hain yeh fasle in karibiyon mein ??

      Sarhad pe jab hoti hai goliyon ki bauchar
      Sipahi marte hain
      Maaen roti hain
      Bewaen sisakti hain
      Yahan bhi , wahan bhi.!

      Phir kyon hain yeh dooriyan in nazdikiyon mein
      Kyon hai yeh fasle in karibiyon mein ???


     Jab ho rahe tthe hisse do , ek zamin ke
    Kitne huye beghar
    Kitne huye yateem
    Kitna khoon baha yoon hi !.

    Par , is bewajah bahe khoon ka, rang to lal tha
    Yahan bhi   aur wahan bhi !.

     Phir kyon hain yeh dooriyan in nazdikiyon mein
     Kyon hain yeh fasle in karibiyon mein ??????

ENGLISH TRANSLATION FOR MY NON- HINDI     SPEAKING   FRIENDS

      Why this distance between the near ones
      Why this indifference between the same ones ???



   The water in Satlaz is the same here and the  same there
    Raavi flows here too and there too
    Land of Kashmir is here too and there too

    Then why this distance between the near ones
    Why this indifference between the same ones ???



      During Id , the sweetness of Sevaiyan
      Warmth of the  embrace
      The cheerful ambience
      Is the same here too and the same there too

     Then why this distance between the near ones
     Why this indifference between the same ones ???

     Ghalib and Zauk   are relished here too and there too
      The ghazals of Mehndi Hassan
       Are sung here too and there too
       Noor jahan shines here too and there too .

      Then why this distance between the near ones
       Why this indifference between the same ones ???

       When   on the border the guns fire
       Soldiers die
       Mothers cry
       Widows   weep
        Here too and there too !


       Then why this distance between the near ones
       Why this indifference between the same ones ???



     When the one land was paritioned
     How many were rendered homeless
     How many were orphaned
    How much blood was shed senselessly !

     But colour of the senselessly shed blood was red
     Here   too and there too !

     Then why this distance between the near ones
      Why this indifference between the same ones ????

Yeah Harsh Bhau , I can understand the underlying pain and anguish in milions of millions of people like you and me ! It was all a sheer waste and there was no sense behind all the blood shed which has unnecessarily breeded the difference between the two communities !
