 BEWARE OF SENTIMENTAL SPAMS.

This morning I received a forwarded message, one of many that I normally receive and delete, but this was different. I have had offers from Africans mostly who want to invest the loot made by ther fathers in their country and want your help in doing so, or,  those who act as if they are attracted to you and seek your help. This one was well designed and was meant to touch an emotional chord in you that would make you forward it to three others as requested, thereby unknowingly dragging three more people into the criminals dragnet. I therefore wanted to post this spam here and also show you why it is a spam and a fake. Also don't forget to read my comments marked in read below the spam.

----------- Original Message -----------

A beautiful poem written by a Father to save his Daughter !!!
Do read it once...........I am sure u also won't be left untouched by the words and the feelings that they depict.
The last stanza, after reading from the beginning, suddenly slows down the heart-beats..

DAD - BABY RACHEL - MOM
A sad Dad's poem...
This is a beautiful poem. There is an appeal from a Zimbabwean
couple at the bottom of message, not asking for anything more
than that you hand the poem on.
The husband wrote the poem.

TO MY CHILD
Just for this morning, I am going to
smile when I see your face and laugh
when I feel like crying.
Just for this morning, I will let you
choose what you want to wear,
and smile and say how perfect it is.
Just for this morning, I am going to step
over the laundry and pick you up and take you to
the park to play.
Just for this morning, I will leave the
dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put
that puzzle of yours together.
Just for this afternoon, I will unplug
the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with
you in the backyard and blow bubbles.
Just for this afternoon, I will not yell
once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and
whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one
if he comes by.
Just for this afternoon, I won't worry
about what you are going to be when you grow up, or
second guess every decision I have made where you are
concern ed.
Just for this afternoon, I will let you
help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you
trying to fix them.
Just for this afternoon, I will take us
to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can
have both toys.
Just for this evening, I will hold you in
my arms and tell you a story about how you were
born and how much I love you.
Just for this evening, I will let you
splash in the tub and not get angry.
Just for this evening, I will let you
stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.
Just for this evening, I will snuggle
beside you for hours, and miss my favourite TV shows.
Just for this evening when I run my
finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be
grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.
I will think about the mothers and
fathers who are searching for their missing children, the
mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's
graves instead of their bedrooms. The mothers
and fathers who are in hospital rooms
watching their children suffer senselessly and screaming
inside that little body
And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold
you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then,
that I will thank God for you, and ask him for
nothing, except one more day..............
Hi! I am a 29-year-old father. My wife and I have had a wonderful life together. God blessed us with a child too. Our daughter's name is Rachel and she is 10 months old. Not long ago did the doctors detect brain cancer in her little body.
There is only one way to save her and that is an operation. Sadly we don't have the money for the operation. AOL and Zdnet (in Zimbabwe ) have agreed to help us.
The only way they can help is this: If you send this email to other people< BR>AOL will track this email and count how many people get it. Every person that opens this email and sends it to at least 3 people will give us 32c. (in Zimbabwe dollars) Please help us.
It hardly takes a min for you to forward this to your friends, Please do it.

While the poem was very beautifully written and moved me to the core, the appeal at the bottom of the mail somehow didn't ring true. I doubt if this poem was really written by the person who has started this chain. I know enough about people to know that this is spam. Did you notice the poem talks of a girl who is old enough to play in the park and ask for ice-cream, but the note below the poem talks of his ten month old daughter? Pls check with AOL and Zdnet and you will find this is a fraud. They want you to circulate this mail so that they can gather as many IDs as possible and then target them with spams or hack their mails.

It is a pity we Indians who hesitate to give a rupee to a beggar at the signal and doubt the sob story told by him, fall for all these spams when we find it on the net. Bettar give the rupee to the beggar on the street corner and delete this spam.

tnx for eduacating and informing us,most of these scams seem to be originating from africa and they seem to be getting more and more convincing,i would welcome such warning msgs from my friends .Here in south africa we are plagued with request of donations of all kinds and i flatly refuse to part with my hardearned money untill i see with my own eyes the genuine receiver. This ie because of a investigation done by the media into the affairs of a cancer fund assoctation of s.a..in one year they collected 64 million rands[about 384,000,000 rupees]ONLY 7 MILLION rands[42,000,000] reached the cancer ridden victims. The rest went into salaries[C.E.O.received 1 million[6,000,000] in salaries ,car allowences etc Nowadays the collectors are also scam artistes ,so my friends be on full alert always!

Hi there,
May I add to your comments. You are correct this is a scam. I know, because I am the one who wrote that poem for my son Dhylan way back in 1999. This poem has been sent all over the internet, and I have it on a watch, to alert people who the author is. If you do a simple Google search you will find a website with all my poems on. ie 'Sally Meyer poems'.

If you would like to email me, I can give you more information about this poem.

Rainmom2000@aol.com

thanks for exposing this scam, it's very irritating to me, to have people beg for money, using my work, falsely.
