Give peace a chance. Happy Birthday John Lennon!
"Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace"
- John Lennon
John Lennon is one musician we all at Bombay Rock Association love unanimously... as much for the music as for his message of peace. Today (Oct 09) is his birthday. (I'd never say birth anniversary, because legends ... they don't die!)
We brought in Lennon's birthday, with a nice chocolate cake with the message 'Give peace a chance. - John Lennon' written on it. At the strike of 12, we started playing "Imagine" in a loop and Kaivan, the biggest Lennon fan amongst us, cut the
cake and instead of Happy Birthday, we sang Imagine.
Kaiv is such a sweetheart, he gave the first bite of the cake to me :). Then I and finally Sujeet also cut the cake one by one.
The celebration was for peace and John Lennon. Sujeet had a special message. "A big f*** you to all the hate mongers of this country."
Kaivan drew the peace symbol on his guitar, which also doubles up as a graffiti guitar for us.
Oh, you must try rum and cake... pour dark rum on chocolate cake... it tastes absolute yumm. The chocolate truffle had pieces of hollow chocolates, so we filled them up with rum and had shots. Then we ate the chocolate. It's really sinful!
Basically there was John Lennon, peace, old monk, cake and two of my closest friends. So, that was our li'l celebration :) (pics being screened)
