 Dream Themes

thaa khwaab mein khyaal ko tujhse muamlaa
jab aankh khul gayee na ziyan thaa na suud thaa

---------------------------------------

Within the dreams, we were exchanging thoughts
When the eyes opened, there was neither gain nor loss

Dreams have only one owner at a time. That's why dreamers are lonely.
Everyone dreams (some of us often forget them) and it has been suggested that most of our dreams have similar themes. Interpretation of dreams generally interest all of us. Often these interpretations are outright bizarre but some times these are pretty logical.

I have compiled some of the common themes and their interpretations (the more rational ones).

1 Falling or Sinking

The dreamer usually sees him self falling through the air and is frightened. Occasionally it may be sinking in water and in danger of drowning.
A person having this dream is feeling insecure or lacking in support in their life. The dream often occurs when one is overwhelmed in life and feels like giving up.

2 Nudity
The dreamer sees him self in a state of undress, partial undress, or inappropriate dress. Occasionally the dreamer witnesses another person who is naked while he is clothed. The dream is often accompanied by feelings of embarrassment and shame.

A person having this dream is feeling exposed, awkward, or vulnerable, or is afraid of having revealed too much of self in a real life situation. This type of dream occurs much more frequently in people who are involved in a wedding ceremony in their real life.

3 Car Troubles

The dreamer sees himself near a car or some other type of vehicle which is out of control or has other problems that seem insurmountable. For example, the brakes may have failed, the steering is out of control, or car heading for a cliff / crash.
This is a common type of nightmare and it occurs in all people - not just those who can drive. This dream usually means that one is feeling powerless over something in his real life - or feels that he is heading for a metaphorical crash.

4 Being Chased

 Dreaming of being chased can be a truly horrifying experience. Most often the chaser is a monster or some person that is frightening, and occasionally it may be an animal. This is a commonly experienced nightmare theme. Sometimes this dream is a replay of an actual event in ones life.
It means that someone / something is making the dreamer feel threatened.

5 Ill or Dying
The dreamer sees himself (or a loved one) ill, injured, or dying. It is not a a uncommon dream and often occurs at the onset of an illness.
Aside from becoming ill, this dream can mean that deamer is emotionally hurt or is afraid of becoming hurt. The dream could be a warning of an upcoming physical risk to dreamer or a loved one. When it is someone else in the dream that dies, it may mean that dreamer fears losing them.

6 Failing a Test
This dream usually manifests itself in people who have been out of school for a long time. The dreamer fails to pass a test in a variety of different possible scenarios. Either the dreamer is unable to make it to the test on time / unable to find the test room / is unprepared through lack of study or is missing essential equipment like pen etc.
It usually means that the dreamer is feeling tested in some way in real life. The dreamer may perceive himself to be unprepared for something in his real life.

7 Missed a Train/Boat/Plane
The dreamer sees himself rushing to catch a bus, train, plane, or other type of public transport - but misses it – often by a fraction of a second. It is usually accompanied with a feeling of frustration.
It denotes that the dreamer has a feeling that he has missed out on an important opportunity in real life. It will often occur when on is struggling over an important decision.

8 Lost or Trapped

The dream comprises of an effort to find ones way out of an area - such as a forest, city streets, a large building, or other maze-like structure. It often involves a theme of being trapped, buried alive, caught in a web, or unable to move for one or other reason. This is often accompanied by a feeling of terror.
This dream usually means that the person is trapped in real life and is unable to make the right choice. It occurs during times of conflict in real life.

9 Faulty Machinery
The theme here is …….trying to operate mechanical equipment which either fails to work, or fails to work in the expected way. A large majority of these dreams involve a telephone, Internet connection, or something manual like a jammed or broken machine.
This dream often means that one is losing touch with reality, or that a part of body or mind is not functioning as it should. It may occur when one is feeling anxious about making a connection with another person in real life.

10 Bad or Missing Teeth

Teeth dreams are generally involve the discovery of decayed or missing teeth in his mouth by the dreamer, or teeth beginning to fall out on opening of mouth.
At the most basic level it means that we are afraid of being found unattractive. At a deeper level, it can signify a fear of embarrassment or a loss of power in real life.

Before concluding I share with you here some dreams mentioned in the Bible.
• Jacob dreams of a ladder to heaven (Genesis 28);
• his son Joseph dreamed of his future success (Genesis 37) and interpreted the dreams of the Pharaoh of Egypt (Genesis 41);
• Solomon conversed with God in his dreams;
• Daniel interpreted dreams (in the Book of Daniel);
• the Magi are told in a dream to avoid Herod on their journey home (Matthew 2).
• Joseph, husband of Mary, was directed to flee to Egypt (Matthew 2);
• Paul was told to go to Macedonia (Acts 16).

Finally you may agree or not but please share your dreams (own experiences).
