 My first....

The first one in my life! Will try to be honest and not write abstract.

Sazzyme described the aftermath…....which was full of progressing emotions….... I too have similar feelings, only that I had no labour pains! I admire her clean relentless sarcasm which says only the truth. Folks, it can‘t be a static thing…..should be full of fizz …....just one kiss…...never!

Romance….the bird…the fairy tale, but the great romances and the great firsts were always going full circle…..one can recall laila majnu, sirhi farhad, romeo juliet, sassi, punnu, mirja sahiba,( Punjab has lots of folk stuff) ….one can think of common names like rajiv kiran and so on….all of them have taken the full circle.

My firsts were at school…..can’t ever forget them because the story never took off beyond the gazes n the games. It is not very interesting to describe them because the kiss never happened! Was indeed a fairy tale but still comes back at times when I see my kids growing up.

The serious thing happened after college when I worked for a Pharma Company making antibiotics from fungus. In college the books were the only love. Girls studying science become very unromantic

I met this lecturer of a local college two years elder to me….in fact we were both new to our professions and our first meeting was at a local group meet of poets and writers organized by the college.

She lived in the working women’s hostel and I lived in a rented house. Meetings started.
I rode a bike and we were the talk of the town….because people would often see us together…riding!

The college lectures were for some hours a day and the rest of the time was ours…
One day at my house, six months down the line the first kiss happened. Crude way of describing a kiss isn’t it?

But that changed everything…we were friends…close ones…the kiss came in between and a question came up……what is going on between us?

I still remember that after the kiss it was impossible for me to sleep for some days……till I called her and asked….what is happening between us?

The answer never came……..and……… I was a broken man!
Till my dad said, son I have a friend of mine who is looking forward to marry her daughter to you. I love the family and the girl….will be great for you…. since you are a nut case any ways…….and…… I said yes……my wife and me were made to sit in an arranged setting, having dinner….and the first word she uttered were “aap khayen”… (As if she said, please eat what is there on this stupid table and make me comfortable). I was busy contemplating things and she could not say some thing better because of the guests peering at her! We were married and the saga began….those two words started it all.

The kiss did happen while driving to Shimla, in the car some two days later. Happens whenever we go on long rides even today and it gets better by the day…….the smell lingers on!! The kids smelled the same when they arrived and the saga lives on!
