Reptile There is a "Hiss...hiss" noise from the A.C Machine.The ciling fan is also on. Suman Dutt, Dy. Manager of Lloyd & Co, is working on laptop in his chamber. He is busy to save the sales datas, sent by the Regional Manager. Suman Dutt, a very ambitious and dillegent youth, joined this Company after completing MBA from Delhi. Within five years he has been lifted to this rank by prooving his efficiency. A big flat has been allotted in South Delhi by the Company, where he lives with wife Rupa. Rupa and Suman are the most attractive couple in any office party. Rupa, in her teen age once grabbed the trophy of Miss Calcutta before her marriage. She is the only daughter of Biswarup Roy famous business magnet of Calcutta. Suddenly the concentration of Suman broke at the ringtone of his mobile. The voice of Rupa was at the other end. "When are you coming back tonight? I may be late. I have a b. day party to attend. Don't wait for me at dinner". "Whose birth day?- Suman asked. You know Sukhbinder, my friend. It is his B.day". Suman disconnected his cell phone. After six in the evening, Suman was driving on his way to home through Africa Avenue. He rembered, he saw Rupa in a marriage party in Kolkata. His cousin brother Saurav, the bridegroom, intro duced him to Rupa Roy.He looked at her and lost his words at the dazzling beauty of Rupa. He was dumb. Rupa with a charming smile on her lips, said, "I'm Rupa Roy. How do you do?" Now he got back to his sense. In the party Suman invited Rupa to dance with him. At the floor they talked to each other and came closer. After dinner, Suman offered Rupa a lift and requested her to have a cup of coffee in his apartment. They entered the flat and Rupa went straight to the kitchen to prepare coffee. They sat together on the divan. Suman came closer to Rupa. Rupa could feel the hot breath of Suman on her face. She closed her eyes. In a while, he led her to his bedroom.Since that night Suman could not think anything other than Rupa. The few days he was in Kolkata, He spent most of his time with Rupa. When he joined in office in Delhi, he was very unmindful. Heap of files were waitting on his table for his decision. Atlast he took his decision. In the eve he boarded the trin for Kolkata and there he went to the drawing room where Rups's father was present. Suman poposed him to marry Rupa. Mr Biswarup Roy said, " It is totally Rupa's discretion and you will talk to her. She is matured enough to decide." When Suman entered the room of Rupa, she was smiling and said,"I heard everything from behind. Oh, my darling. I love you." She jumped on his chest. The marriage was over and honeymoon in Continent. They cameback and Suman joined his office. Suman could not stay away from Rupa after 5 P.M. An invisible thread pulled him to Rupa and he finds peace only after seeing her in his eyes. One year has passed. one day Suman drove his car after lunch hour to give a surprise to Rupa. Suman opened the door latch very silently and approached to the bed room. He pushed open the door and found Rupa in an intimate state with a man on the bed.She jumped up and saw Suman. she camly said," Suman just sit in the drawing room. I'm comming". Suman came out and stood in the drawing room.He saw his world was totally dark. The soil below his feet is running out very fast. He fell down on the divan. "Sukhbinder, meet my hubby Suman Dutt." The voice of Rupa sounded behind. "Suman, Sukhbir is a good friend of mine." Suman made no reply and went out. Days pass by. Suman and Rupa live under the same roof but they seldom talk. Suman has engaged himself more in his office work. Now he is the Gen Manager.Rupa lives in her own way with her friends and parties. One night Suman charged Rupa, "Why did you marry me?" Rupa replied, " The proposal came from you. I accepted. I needed a man like you with social status and who is madly in love with me.I wanted to use your brand name as your wife." "You never loved me?" asked Suman. " No I never loved any man, nor even Sukhbinder.I know, men come to me being attracted by my beauty. And I do not turn down any of my admirer.I try to make them satisfied and I am satisfied.Of course, I still don't think of leaving you. But if you want I shall release you by giving divorce." Suman said,"I need sometime to settle my mind. I shall leave Delhi tomorrow and stay alone"
