MEERAT BEAUTY QUEEN TURNS KILLER...AFTER YEARS OF ABUSE IN CHILDHOOD

Child abuse is a worldwide crime and going on to this day and age. Every one knows what are the rights of children but in reality, do they have those rights to practice. India recently celebrated "Children's Day" all over the country. Leaders,politicians,bureacrats, industrialists and other celebrities visited the orphanage, jails and slums to distributes candies, toys and clothings.They also delivered profound speeches on the duties and responsibilities of tomorrow's citizen. and after that returned to their cocoons of luxury leaving the children to rot. Can we honestly say that they have even their basic rights.

Recent case of ex beauty queen priyanka of Meerut who murdered her parents makes me think that if it is the consequences of stripping the basic rights and years of abuse.Although,murder in any difinition is never justified,but we all know that children suffering the constant abuse in their childhood develop a rage of maladaptive , anti social , self destructive behaviors. They experience same kind of thoughts when they suffer abuse.As a result they develop agressive behavior , anxiety,attention deficit problems in their adult life. Some go to the extreme as to commit murder.

The story of Priyanka ex beauty queen of 2005 goes like this.. She with the help of her friend also a victim of child abuse killed Priyanka's parents in cold blood. According to Priyanka she was always looked down by her family . Her father and brother always accused her of being an illegitimate child of the mother. They often beat her up . They didn't support her dream of persuing a career in fashion design even after she completed the course in the subject. They didn't think a girl should have a higher education or a career. According to Pryanka there were times when she was ill but was forced to carry out the daily kitchen chores. and thrashed black and blue for even a small mistake.

Through with her schooling from JP academy in Meerut she graduated from Indian Institute of fashion Technology in 2002 and tried her luck in the fashion world and won the Miss Meerut contest. It was around that time she came across a young man who worked as a senior executive in a multi national giant of electronic goods.They became close, But he used her and suddenly disappeared from her life. Ditched by her boy friend and rediculed by her family she shifted to Govt girl's polytechnic in south Delhi in 2006 where she met Anju her friend and partner in crime. She too was a victim of child abuse . Her uncle raped her when she was very young and when she repoted to her parents they dismissed it by saying that it was all her fault. She was an unwanted child to them. Both girls developed a strong bond between them.

About the murder, Priyanka told the police she along with her friend had gone to meet her mother on November 10.Mother wasn't pleased to see her instead started to curse her in a fit and rage and then she tried to grab her hair and in a reflex she caught her mother by neck and she started bleeding from her nose . she turned numb Priyanka was panicky and got an ointment thinking it will stop the bleeding . While the two girls were yet to decide what to do next priyanka's father arrived at the scene and saw his wife bleeding . He tried to raise an alarm. The girls reportedly tried to gag him and he died in the process.

She told the police about the stolen jewelry , cash and certificates , quote. "I was peeved over my father's decision to give away every thing to my brother who is persuing his career in Banglore and my elder sister who is married. So I searched for my father's will and in the process came across the cash and jewelry etc". The both girls are arrested and in the police custody.

When tragic death like this happens then we wonder why did it happen? How could she kill her own father and mother in a cold blood. But when we go into the deep root of the cause of this horrible crime we see that years of abuse has left her scarred deep down .Phycologically untreated she never came to a closure and developed a deep hatred towards her parents which led to a terrible crime of murder.
