IS WEST ONLY ABOUT PIZZA HUT OR COCACOLA ??

These two products have invaded each and every  country and mind so hard they have become the synonym or representative of    western culture . Whenever you think of west , CocaCola and Pizza Hut, these two products always come into your mind .

So many days , womens' day , mens' day , valentines'day , this day and that day . Probably even there in the west or to be more specific in the great United States of the America , they wouldnt be celebrating these     umpteen   days with so much zeal and fervour as we do them here .

Well there is no harm as such in celebrating these days . But has anyone ever thought , is western culture only about these ? What have they done ? What has gone into these products that has made them so popular world over ?? Why dont we try to emulate those " whats " ??

Their market research , product research , marketing techniques , customer care   etc etc . What are the qualities which make them superior to us ? These points should be our food for thought and not Pizzas  and coke our food . We should not remember the different days , but should remember the good  aspects of their work culture !

Is it that they are  more intelligent , more knowledgable ,
or more informed than us ?? The answer is a BIG NO !!!

Then what makes the big difference ??

These are very simple  behavioural aspects but very significant in daily life , which makes them more successful  than us !

I will confine myself only to those aspects of the west which we need as an individual to have an equally good and efficient work culture . If we can have better human resources , the system will itself improve !

THE ASPECTS OF WESTERN CULTURE , WE SHOULD FOLLOW :

Discipline : The first and foremost quality is their disciplined way of living . The respect for rules and order.In their personal life , in their professional life and in their social life , evrywhere they have this orderliness . Punctuality follows from  a disciplined approach only . Their respect for queue formation is also the result of their disciplined approach ! No need to say where we stand with respect to these two issues , very trivial in our opinion , but in fact they go a long way in establishing a good work culture and an efficient system !

Commitment :    Their level of commitment to a job is remarkable . If you entrust something to them , they will see to it that it reaches its logical end . No excuses , no shirking ! This  sense of commitment is visible at all levels , personal , corporate or country ! Everyone is commited to their role in the system !

Honesty :     Contrary  to general thinking , they are more honest and simple in their day to day life . This reflects in their system ,which is very transparent .. Level of corruption at personal , corporate or country level is far far less as compared to what we have ,!

Corruption   is the order of the day here ! An honest man is an exception here than a rule!

Team work : Their tendency to work as a team  and in a team is marvellous . Individually we may be more qualified , more knowledgable , more intelligent but when working as a team , we fail miserably ! The reasons behind this tendency are many ! The team does not benefit from our individual qualities . Rather we use them to bring the team down !!

Dignity of labour : This is probably the most important difference between the two cultures ! No one should be looked down upon for  what he does ! We should not be ashamed of working with our own hands if need be ! We abhore the idea of physical labour ! We go on teaching our children that physical work is the most demeaning thing !
We shun hard work . We want easy life . No country can be built in bed of roses . You have to remove the thorns too, and take pains !!

In a nut shell I have tried to emphasise the main aspects of    western culture which sets them apart from us and makes them highly prosperous and materially advanced nations !

FOLLOW THE QUALITIES OF MEN BEHIND PIZZA HUT AND COCACOLA !

BRING THE WORK CULTURE   WHICH MADE THESE PRODUCTS SO POPULAR AND NOT THE PRODUCT  !!!!!!!

Chiktu , when I say that follow these qualities of western culture , I dont mean just do it as they do ! What I mean to say that if at all you want to import something from there import these things rather than their goods or the outward pomp and show !You have very rightly pointed out about our small scale industries where already the work culture is better .
And these qualities which I have enumerated are very general ones , you need them anywhere in your life .

First of all why is there th need 2 import a culture when we hv a rich culture already. Its the queing that has to improve. People in the cities r punctual, but not in the small cities or villeges, because they don't have to. The complacancy of the Indian mind has to change. That means, we will hv to loose th happiness that is purely Indian nd b unhappy nd after money like westerners. Moreover, the work culture as described is mixed just like any other country nd can not b taken as ideal. The Pizza hut is generally favored by rich people cause,the price will encompass two full meals for an entire family in India.
