notjustart said: Thanks to Manisha, I am here commenting on this readable blog! I don't know the exact details of the pay scale of cops but one thing I certainly know and it is this...People are more afraid of cops than goons! Okay that said, now allow me to tell you what I saw on 29th November, barely 3 days after the sad happenings in Mumbai... I was chatting with a friend and saw two police vehicles parked on the road, just for routine petrol. About 6 or 7 of them got down from it and began taking an apple, a banana, one officer even pocketed 3 lemons from the vegetable vendors! Can you imagine? The whole atmosphere was gloomy, people could be seen talking in hushed tones but this bunch of corrupt officers don't have an iota of shame in them. They were going on with their routine (?) life like nothing ever happened! Do you know that most of the cops don't even have to withdraw their salaries from the bank? They don't need to and for obvious reasons... It was a pleasure to comment on your post... December 04, '08 |

BindasCorner said: Disclaimer: I've not read any commments. Change is inevitable and it is one constant. How we steer it can be in our hands. Blaming anyone is easy but this is not part of change it is part of learning. Change occurs after one has recognized and acknowledged his/her short comings/ and maybe a path to fast buck. But are we Indians so dumb to see what they’re trying to do?a December 03, '08 |
