Review:
If you’ve seen the PDVCD given out free @ Freakshow V, you’ll understand why this gig was very important to me. Ado (ennui.BOMB better half / also my fiancé) + me, both love the band, having seen them from their maddest earliest days. To have Dream Out Loud, musicians whom I’ve grown up on (Indian rock superheroes!) also on the same stage was a very happy and nice emotion associated with gig. Plus, a chance to watch one of favorite bands (yes I’m talking about Medusa!) along with two more bands we’ve never worked before with, Groove Lab and Devoid. The vibe was unmistakable. This had the makings of a great show. And it was.

THE GIG WAS INSANE!

Those who were there last nite will know what I’m talking about. I can bet this will be a memorable gig in their lives. The place was packed by the time the first band started! Wow! Thanks for coming you guys! You are the future!!

Did not catch a single song from inside. Heard the entire show from the gate. Except for parts of Dream Out Loud. Collected tonnes of money and met tonnes of wonderful folks, new and from the past. P-Man hosted the evening’s proceedings. PDV played “Sholay” style, with both Jai and Viru playing on TWO separate drum kits! Lucky coupons were given out and lucky people won some cool CDs (Shaair N Func, PDV, Pentagram, We ARE The Scene, Stupiditties). Picked up some nice CDs myself (loads of cool stuff was on sale!), including Right II Riot. Picked a bunch of Ressurection zines (which btw seem to have some great reads, like Nolan’s review of the Iron Maiden Bangalore gig). Didn’t pick a single fight. : D

PS: thanks to everyone who helped make this a great evening and a beautiful gig: ado, deepa, p-man, vijay, crowd control folks (toughest job yesterday! Respect \m/), oml, popcornsrevenge, sahil and furtado’s, gigpad, rsj forums, orkut, hutch, a –z Xerox, old-timers for bumping into each other once again @ razz, and new-comers for the super turnout. Thank you for one of best gigs of our lives.
