 Blog Camp Pune

Usually enthusiastic bloggers interact with each other through the 'write' stuff. But, here was an opportunity for them to unite under one roof at an 'unconference' of the bloggers, for the bloggers and by the bloggers, at the Blog Camp Pune held at Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology, Pune. It was Pune's first blog camp, and for first timers, the 'unorganizers' did a pretty decent job.

After registration, where everyone was given T shirts that said, 'I blog, therefore I am', the audi had an introduction session - where we were informed about the whys and hows of the blog camp and also about the sponsors of the event, which included Fropper.com, Sulekha, SMS Gupshup, BetterLabs, among others.

All the participants then introduced themselves - it included veteran, nascent and yet to be born bloggers. The ones that attended the camp because they were keen on getting a headstart were the ones that invited loudest applause as a mark of encouragement. The intro session was actually rather fun!

Two simultaneous threads of discussion were chalked out. Well, one couldn't be there at two places at the same time, so one had to use discernment and attend. Erm, self admittedly I'm a tech-duffer... a lot of the stuff went way over my head :D sorry... But, here is whatever little I could gather. The first one I attended was by Purple Nova. Now, they have a product through which one can convert the PC into a hosting platform, without having to use an IP address, which cuts out the need for a hosting provider for space and address.

Then of course I was at the Fropper presentation, for Mr. Sheikspeare's sake :D It was crisp, as simple as ezblog itself and to the point, one of the few ones I understood completely. Phew! People also took a lot of interest in this and had a lot of questions and suggestions rather than criticism, like in many other presentations, probably because Fropper was showcased as a platform to encourage the non-bloggers and boost their confidence.

Some of the presentations had big time debate, like the one of Rediff and WATBlog. There were discussions of photo blogging, video blogging, podcasting and other web application, corporate blogging, spamming, stalking, trolling, etc. One that caught a lot of attention was the Traditional Media v/s New Media debate, other than “celebrity” bloggers Melody and Saakshi, self confessed Salman Khan and Rakhi Sawant spokespersons.

A real interesting and innovative one was SMS Gupshup, presented by Abhishek, one witty and fun dude who confessed to have had to compete with Abhishek Bachchan to get more traffic on his blogs! Through SMS Gupshup, one can send messages to a group and discuss with your friends whatever you wish.

Well! That's all I could attend... After the threads were done with, there was a 'kick out' session, which was another productive and constructive bit. All the good things and the bad things were discussed, along with feedback, suggestions and when and where to have the next blog camp, and also how to make it a little more organized (or unorganized?) 'unconference'.

Kudos to Tarun Chandel, the organizer for pulling a 150 people meet quite well and also for keeping it fun and unconference.

You changed my life

Before i met you i hated life
And i felt like there wasn't a reason to live
But then i met you had my life changed
Now i have a reason to live

You even say that you love me

You are an angel sent down from heaven

You brighten my day and I brighten yours
You changed my life

And I never wanna go back to the life before i met you

I think about you every nite and every day

There isn't one moment that i don't think about you
You changed my life

Oh My Dear, Forget ur Fear,
Let all ur Dreams be Clear,
Never put Tear, Please Hear,
I want to tell one thing in ur Ear
