 heavy rain, wind and flooding

Heavy rain, wind and flooding:
On Wednesday there was very heavy rain, wind and flooding. It took only 3 hours of rain to bring biggest mass transit system to halt. Trains halted as tracks were submerged, roads were changed to waterways, buses grounded due to floods, pumping system was overwhelmed. Suburban commuters spent half day just going to work.
Airport delays were of more than an hour, thousands of houses lost electricity.
Well you all must be thinking havoc was created in Mumbai due to rain ,
NO it was New York.
How similar scenario.
Only difference was all the mess was cleared by cleared by early Thursday , engineers worked furiously to pump out water from rail tracks.
I don’t know why official machinery in Mumbai and India gets all paralyzed in case of natural disasters. New York governor asked MMRDA to report in 30 days with engineering suggestion to deal with floods. One commuter said “ One big rain and it all falls apart.” As she sat waiting for train in Brooklyn.Public officials had called for improvement in drainage system after similar flooding in 1999.
Well I don’t have to go to America and New York , its so similar and you can experience everything in Mumbai.
