India Satthiya Gaya Hai!
Ok! We couldn't come up with a more catchy line than this! What we mean to say is India is now 60 and She's really going crazy... of course, in a good way. Look around yourself, booming economy, more employment opportunities, more purchasing power and the new vibrant young face of our beloved country.
We cannot celebrate India's glory at the Red Fort amidst Independence Parade and gunshots, but we can definitely give away a lot of fun goodies to you! To get you in the Independence Day mode, we have introduced a special Independence Theme, to make your blogs look more Indian, exciting and 'dressed for the occasion', so to speak. AND of course, check out our contests and win prizes galore!
MERI SHOUTS SUNO CONTEST
Shout out your own Freedom slogans. We'll pick out five best Freedom Shout Outs – those that will be most fiery, innovative, original and whacky – and give them a pack of 10 blank Moserbaer CDs. You can have your own collection of Independence songs, films or anything you wish! Post your Shout-Out here >>
MAIN, MERA DESH, MERI AZADI AUR MERI FOTU CONTEST
If you have the photos of our great freedom fighters at home, you may as well have one addition in the Independence Spirit collection! Upload your pics with the Indian Flag in the same frame – it can be anything: painted on your face, a painting you made, badge on your cap or shirt... The best three pics will be printed by us on 5” X 7” and framed in a beautiful photo frame.
Tag your entries with 'independence day'. The more innovative the better and photos that have more comments stand a better chance of winning. Upload your photos here >>
BINDAAS BOL MAIN AZAD HOON CONTEST
Freedom of speech and expression! Exercise it. What does freedom mean to you? If you're a student it could be freedom from books and studies, if you're in the entertainment industry it could be freedom from piracy and plagiarism, if you're Sanjay Dutt it would be freedom from jail and cases. But, you are not Sanjay Dutt, so think of something else. To Mumbaiites it could be freedom from waterlogging and potholes-free roads. To TV buffs it could be freedom from saas and bahu. To India, it could be freedom from poverty and corruption. So, feel free to tell us what freedom means to you!
Send in your entries with 'independence day' as a tag. Three best entries will win bestselling novels – Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Suns and Bombay Time by Thrithi Umrigar. Again, if your ratings are high and if you have got a lotta comments, you will be the winner! Write your blogs here>>
MAIN SHAYAR TO NAHIN... PAR AZAD HOON CONTEST
Arz kiya hai...
Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab humare dil mein hai
Dekhna hai zor kitna baazu-e-qaatil mein hai!
Yeah, yeah, we know this is not an original shayari. We're just setting the mood right. We want you to send us an origi
nal Independence verse, shayari, poem, limerick, what have you. You don't have to necessarily be as great as Rabindranath Tagore, Sarojini Naidu, Shri Aurobindo, but if written with feelings, it will be worth a million rupees, we're sure!
Sorry, we may not be able to give you a Nobel prize in poetry but we can give the winners a 1 GB pen drive, DVD of Rang De Basanti or a Parker pen for sure. Tag your poem with 'independence day' and be original! Send your poems here>>
So, let us see your spirit and read your thoughts. Jai Hind!
