taking a conversation (transaction)
Taking the conversation (transaction):
I can take on any conversation (transaction), means I analyze it quickly, put it in Parent Adult Child and prepare an appropriate reaction. But majority of people cannot take it. There are of course two parties in a conversation. Let us analyze both types. First one is givers. They are people who are very good in speech art, either one to one or one to many. Mostly these conversation are planned i e invoking expected reaction from preyed party. These givers are many times leaders and may not be educated that much, mostly extrovert. Seeing their skills at giving a convincing speech and mastery (?) over language they are selected to top posts (ministers etc). They are of no use to people or society as they are not doers, rather they are hedges in this world. They mislead whole community or masses with their fluent convincing speech and take them on wrong path (Hitler).
Second is takers. They either listen and not react or react violently in disagreement, react in Parent or Adult or Child. They say I cant take this nonsense. Majority have no mastery over language or speech. Rather they are followers.
But in one to one conversation takers react to provocations. This simply escalates the issue. Solutions are not sought but one up man ship game is started.
Very few ideally can for most time think and be in adult mode. Especially you may observe adult mode when bishops, gurus, swamis converse among themselves. (when they talk to people they go in parent mode). Transaction is not just conversation only but gestures, tone, attire, frowns, grins all or even silence.
Point is beware of these givers. In a one to one conversation better to take it always in adult mode i. e. think and then react in appropriate way. Remember you cannot be caught for something you never said. So do not fall prey to planned provocations and harm yourself in the end.
