 the english way of life

Differences in India and U K :
What I am writing is about U K but applicable to us Indians. When I went to U K to hell with training what I was studying and observing was english way of life from social, spiritual , philanthropic, mental health point of view.
First of all I found English people have much higher level of attitude to governance, not only at head and upper level , but ordinary policeman on street, clerk in bank, ordinary citizen used the powers delegated to them impeccably. Not that there were no agitations, pickets, rallies, strikes but there was method in all this. First of all britisher maybe a p m or union leader or cricketer or football player they use low tone while discussing things or giving interview, the manners are observed in speech all the time.
Well it is said that british have unwritten laws. But these laws are well understood, well obeyed, and well implemented. Hence interruptions in day to day life are few and far between. Only major interruption I faced was underground tube strike ( blasted drivers struck twice in a week). But local people themselves took the strike in a peculiar way they quietly stood in bus ques and pooled cars wherever possible. I had my training center nearby and walked down to it ( 40 mins or so).
Secondly there are hardly any pushing and hurrying people, due to cold climate british people walk with peculiar fast gate but again no pushing. There are short ques quickly attended by clerks in post office or bank. In short no hassles as they call it. (these people when they come to India they get surprised at hassles to get phone, gas, electricity etc connection). People go about there work in assured way. Entire England closes down at 6 p m. If there are any shops open they belong to asians.
My uncle was surprised when he was in england that in spite of 6 month port strike ( everything is imported in u k), there was no black marketing, or instant shortage or abnormal rise in cost. I was watching when a big Indian merchant was given mike on gokulashtami speech at iscon preached that lord Krishna says everybody has to be honest in life. But how these preaching people treat their own fellow citizens in times of railway and port strike etc?
Another thing is affordability. Average typist and clerk gets 1000 pounds per month. But including rent, utility bill, consumables the budget wont be more than 500 pounds. So there are large savings. They already have subsidized national health service.
These are only few aspects. Whatever prosperity, this way of life is not possible in India unless Indians learn to consider fellow citizens as their own family and treat them with respect.

Affordability and savings may be possible for people living in UK.Also because they have subsidized national health care.In US an average typist earns $2000 but rent alone is about 1000 dollar for i bedroom apt.Medical insurance takes chunk of money. After all the expediture what does an average typist save..practically nothing.

As far as I udnerstand, this is also 'inter-personal relations.." and not 'social governance"
Social governance cannot direct people to 'treat their fellow citizens as family'. Its relationships...!!!

Sir, with all due respect to your experience and wisdom, We Indians treat our fellow citizens far better than the Brits do. They treat their fellow "fair skin" citizens only that way and the pledge of Non-whites are almost the same as it was 20 years ago. Its in their blood and Genes.
Having worked with brits for the past 15 years at various levels, I can say this. There are exceptions, but then, exceptions ae there everywhere. Majority are the same...
