I love Mumbai City that prompted me to write this poem.

 Words were not enough

Words were not enough

Where the love has gone
She yelled at me
hobnobbing with my fingers

It was one of those November evening
The sky was bright
A cold breeze passed through
the seashore
and chilled my nerves

My thoughts went back to earlier times

The time was rolling through
the tunnels of life
There was brightness
darkness
happiness
and sorrow

I saw the flame of love
burning in me
on those days

How can I tell her?

The time has changed me
to some other mould
neither good nor bad
but a soul who like to share
the passion

What more?

She put me in dilemma
by asking a question
in such a time
when it cannot be answered

I squabbled with my conscience
and searched for words
to give an assurance
but words were not enough

Time stand still in that vast night
under the infinite sky
when I failed to give her
a definite answer.

Yes, flowers may win prizes, but inside the home they’re best,
For there they prove a blessing, when there, they regularly rest.
Though they’re nature’s jewellery, adorning this world we’re in,
They also sooth and calm us, somewhat like good medicine.

They’re colourful and cheery, they’re attractive to the eye,
And earth would be more dreary, if flowers didn’t beautify.
’Though some take them for granted, hardly notice that they’re there,
They’d very soon awaken, should all flowers disappear.

Give me flowers any day, compared to earthly treasure,
Yes, give me nature’s bounties, for they’re the greatest pleasure.
Give me gardens I can view, as through life I make my way,
Give me nature’s jewellery, earthly treasure it’ll outweigh.

It’s a beautiful flower, a belle in a flowerbed,
It’s cradled in pink petals, has a fetching lilac head.
It brightens up the garden, cheers the hearts of passersby,
Who stop to view its beauty, and its type identify.

It stands amidst the others, that adorn the garden too,
The Queen of all the flowers, that were planted and soon grew.
It surveys the scenery with dignity and style,
Yes, it’s truly a lady, one that’ll have you pause awhile.

It relishes the sunshine, it’s seen waltzing to the breeze,
It jostles with the raindrops, and naively makes folk sneeze.
It brings joy to observers, it plays host to busy bees,
And delights the gardener, who each day this monarch sees.

It is lovingly tendered, and watched over faithfully,
It’s a classic, a prizewinner, yes, the judges would agree.
It’s the pick of the bunch, it’s out on its own, royalty born and bred,
But in a vase in a home, this charmer will go instead.
