						<description><![CDATA[Often parents are tempted to criticize their children. You would expect me to say &quot;don't.&quot; But I will not, I am merely going to say, &quot;Before you criticize them, read one of the classics of American journalism, 'Father Forgets.' &ldquo;It originally appeared as an editorial in The People's Home Journal.  &quot;Father Forgets&quot; is one of those little pieces which dashed off in a moment of sincere feeling strikes an echoing chord in so many readers as to become a perennial reprint favorite. Since it&rsquo;s first appearance, &quot;Father Forgets&quot; has been reproduced in hundreds of magazines and in newspapers the country over. It has been reprinted almost as extensively in many foreign languages. It has been 'on the air' on countless occasions and programs. Oddly enough, college periodicals have used it, and high-school magazines. Sometimes a little piece seems mysteriously to 'click.' This one certainly did.&quot;  FATHER FORGETS by W. Livingston Larned  Listen, son: I am saying this as you lie asleep, one little paw crumpled under your cheek and the blond curls stickily wet on your damp forehead. I have stolen into your room alone. Just a few minutes ago, as I sat reading my paper in the library, a stifling wave of remorse swept over me. Guiltily I came to your bedside. There are the things I was thinking, son: I had been cross to you. I scolded you as you were dressing for school because you gave your face merely a dab with a towel. I took you to task for not cleaning your shoes. I called out angrily when you threw some of your things on the floor.  At breakfast I found fault, too. You spilled things. You gulped down your food. You put your elbows on the table. You spread butter too thick on your bread. And as you started off to play and I made for my train, you turned and waved a hand and called, &quot;Goodbye, Daddy!&quot; and I frowned, and said in reply, &quot;Hold your shoulders back!&quot;  Then it began all over again in the late afternoon. As I came up the road I spied you, down on your knees, playing marbles. There were holes in your stockings. I humiliated you before your friends by marching you ahead of me to the house. Stockings were expensive - and if you had to buy them you would be more careful! Imagine that, son, from a father!  Do you remember, later, when I was reading in the library, how you came in timidly, with a sort of hurt look in your eyes? When I glanced up over my paper, impatient at the interruption, you hesitated at the door. &quot;What is it you want?&quot; I snapped. You said nothing, but ran across in one tempestuous plunge, and threw your arms around my neck and kissed me, and your small arms tightened with an affection that God had set blooming in your heart and which even neglect could not wither. And then you were gone, pattering up the stairs.  Well, son, it was shortly afterwards that my paper slipped from my hands and a terrible sickening fear came over me. What has habit been doing to me? The habit of finding fault, of reprimanding - this was my reward to you for being a boy. It was not that I did not love you; it was that I expected too much of you. I was measuring you by the yardstick of my own years.  And there was so much that was good and fine and true in your character. The little heart of you was as big as the dawn itself over the wide hills. This was shown by your spontaneous impulse to rush in and kiss me good night. Nothing else matters tonight, son. I have come to your bed-side in the darkness, and I have knelt there, ashamed!  It is a feeble atonement; I know you would not understand these things if I told them to you during your waking hours. But tomorrow I will be a real daddy! I will chum with you, and suffer when you suffer, and laugh when you laugh. I will bite my tongue when impatient words come. I will keep saying as if it were a ritual: &quot;He is nothing but a boy - a little boy!&quot;  I am afraid I have visualized you as a man. Yet as I see you now, son, crumpled and weary in your cot, I see that you are still a baby. Yesterday you were in your mother's arms, your head on her shoulder. I have asked too much, too much.  Instead of condemning people, let's try to understand them. Let's try to figure out why they do what they do. That's a lot more profitable and intriguing than criticism; and it breeds sympathy, tolerance and kindness. ]]></description>

						<description><![CDATA[No 1 Little Johnie hadn't spoken a word in all his six years of life. Finally, one morning at breakfast he cried out, 'Mum, the toast's burnt!' His amazed mother hugged him joyfully and asked, 'Johnny, why haven't you spoken before?' Well,&ldquo; he replied everything&lsquo;s been all right up till now &ldquo;.   No 2 A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, &quot;Please come over here and help me...I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get it started.&quot; Her boyfriend asks, &quot;What is it supposed to be when it's finished?&quot; The blonde says, &quot;According to the picture on the box, it's a ROOSTER.&quot; Her boyfriend decides to go over and help with the puzzle. She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table. He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says, &quot;First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster.&quot; He held her hand and said, &quot;Second, I'd advise you to relax. Let's have a cup of coffee, then ....&quot; he sighed, &quot;let's put all these Corn Flakes back in the box.&quot;    No 3 An Icelander was granted one single wish from God: He asked &quot;I want a road across the Atlantic so we Icelanders can drive back and forth to  Europe.&quot; God told him: &quot;That is too much to ask. Find something easier&quot;. So the man asked: &quot;Please explain female intuition to me&quot; God replied: &quot;About that highway: Should it be 2 or 4 lanes?&quot;   No 4  A woman announces to her friend that she is getting married for the fourth time. How wonderful! But I hope you don&lsquo;t mind me asking what happened to your first husband?&ldquo; He ate poisonous mushrooms and died.&ldquo; Oh, how tragic! what about your second husband?&ldquo; He ate poisonous mushrooms too and died&ldquo; Oh how terrible! I&lsquo;m almost afraid to ask you about your third husband.&ldquo; He died of a broken neck&ldquo; A broken neck?&ldquo; He wouldn&lsquo;t eat the mushrooms&hellip;&hellip;&ldquo;   N 5   The man gets out of his car, walks all the way out to the farmer and asks him Ah excuse me mister, but what are you doing?&ldquo; The farmer replies I&lsquo;m trying to win a Nobel Prize.&ldquo; How?&ldquo; asks the man, puzzled. Well I heard they give the Nobel Prize to people who are outstanding in their field.&ldquo;  N 6   Woman in crowd at a political rally where Sir Winston Churchill is speaking You mongrel Churchill, if you were my husband I&lsquo;d put rat poison in your tea.&ldquo; Churchill replies And if you were my wife, Ma&lsquo;am, I&lsquo;d drink it!&ldquo;   N 7  Three blondes are stuck on a deserted island, when one of them finds a lamp on the beach. She picks it up and gives it a little rub and a Genie pops out. The Genie looks at the three Blondes and says I normally give three wishes, but since there are three of you, I will grant each of you one wish&ldquo; Well the first one is tired of being on the island, so she wishes to go back home. POOF! She disappears. The second one said she too is tired of the island, and wishes to go home. POOF! She also disappears. The genie then turns to the last Blonde and asks her what her wish is. Gee,&ldquo; she says, I&lsquo;m awfully lonely here by myself. I wish my friends were still here N 8  I rang up my local swimming baths. I said Is that the local swimming baths? &ldquo;The man said, It depends on where you&lsquo;re calling from. &ldquo;   N 9  An old woman came into her doctor&lsquo;s office and confessed to an embarrassing problem. I have Flatulence all the time, doctor&ldquo;she said. But they&lsquo;re Soundless, and they have no Odor. In fact, since I&lsquo;ve been here, I&lsquo;ve passed wind no less than twenty times. What can I do? &ldquo;Here&lsquo;s a prescription, Mrs. Smith. Take these pills three times a day for seven days and come back and see me in a week. &ldquo;Next week an upset Mrs. Smith marched into the Doctors office. Doctor, I don&lsquo;t know what was in those pills, but the problem is worse! I&lsquo;m passing wind just as often, but now they smell terrible! What do you have to say for yourself? &ldquo;Calm down, Mrs. Smith&ldquo;said the doctor soothingly. Now that we&lsquo;ve fixed your Sinuses, we&lsquo;ll work on your Hearing!! &ldquo;   N 10 A Blonde with two very red ears went to her doctor, who asked her what happened. I was ironing a shirt and the phone rang&ldquo;she said&ldquo; but instead of picking up the phone, I accidentally picked up the iron and stuck in to my ear&ldquo; So what happened to your other ear?&ldquo; asked the doctor. Dear friend,
&nbsp;Everyone has felt depressed from time to time. A death of close relative, divorce, a lost job, a serious illness or other life crisis will cause most people to feel sad, lonely or down for a time. It is even normal to feel low sometimes for no specific reason. However, it also is normal to recover after a short time and feel like yourself again. When the blues don&rsquo;t go away when sad, lonely, irritable or weary feeling prevent getting on with life you may have the mood disorder called depression. Learning about depression including its signs, symptoms, causes, and treatment is the first step to overcoming the problem. 
&nbsp;Depression is a &ldquo;whole body&rdquo; illness. One that affects a person&rsquo;s physical health as well as, how he or she behaves towards others. Depression is a very common health problem and it is frequently misunderstood. People who have this illness often are embarrassed to admit they are depressed and to seek help. This may be the reason 82% of all people who are depressed never seek professional help. Depression is a disabling disease that affects billions of people regardless of race income or family background. Left untreated, depression can destroy families, careers, lives and all too often can lead to suicide. Consult your doctor if you have any two of these symptoms for more than 15 days.
-Feeling sad or anxious every day.
- Losing interest in activities you once enjoyed including sex.
- Losing or gaining weight.
- Sleeping too much or too little or waking too early or not getting restful sleep.
- Feeling drained of energy or physically slowed down.
- Feeling tired or weak.
- Feeling worthless, guilty or hopeless.
- Having trouble concentrating, making decisions or remembering things.
- Increased or decreased appetite.
- Having headaches, constipation, acidity or pain anywhere in body.
- Difficulty in starting activity.
- Slowed thinking, crying or feel like crying.
- Having repeated thoughts of suicide or death or actually attempting suicide.
- Social isolation, lack of confidence.
A psychiatrist is best equipped to treat depression. As a medical doctor and counselor, a psychiatrist can perform a through physical and psychological evaluation, prescribe and carefully monitor the effects of medication and provide psychotherapy.
There are some supplementary non medicinal methods to cope with depression.
- Yoga and pranayama are relaxing form of exercise that can help alleviate depression.
- Socialize: Push yourself to go out more often. See friends, see a movie and eat out.
- Smile, hold hands, hug a lot. Affection can go right to the heart and give real comfort.
- Avoid narcotics, drugs, smoking and alcohol.
- Any type of physical activity is helpful but it should be daily and minimum 45 minutes a day. The best will be the one you can enjoy, like outdoor sports. If not possible you can opt for brisk walking, swimming, cycling, dancing, aerobics or skipping.
- Listen to music daily.
-Go for psychotherapy it helps.
- Eat smartly: Make sure you have 3-5 small meals a day with plenty of fruits, vegetables and yogurt. Avoid sugar, white bread, deep fried food and non vegetarian food.
Death is not a solution; life is so worth living if you just give it a chance. Hope and love are real. You deserve to know what hope feels like what it&rsquo;s like to love someone and have them love you in return. Out of 7 persons who attempts suicide only one succeed and rest end up with painful injuries and police case. 
I am suffering from depression from last 18 years. I have formed a club for persons suffering from depression; here we provide each other emotional support, share knowledge about depression and share pain of depression. Membership for this club is free of cost
